gypsy moving was alqays about the road. Moving up North as opposed to locally is to do with roooth mum.
Although I have no idea what their plan B for looking after RM is if route B does not go ahead.

PumpkinGordino · 21/10/2014 11:33

are we supposed to be hearing the final decision re the road imminently? otherwise i don't really see how they can be putting farm on market and putting offers in on farms in the NE (as has been said repeatedly on these threads)

and exactly that justice - wtf will happen to heather if route b doesn't go ahead? if she needs help she needs it right now

GypsyFloss · 21/10/2014 13:10

Yes. I thought all the fuss was due to Heather's imminent discharge and inability to care for herself .Then Rooth started using the route B stuff to justify to her Ma in law why she wanted to uproot them all and flog the family business.

And when exactly are they planning to tell their teenage children? And how come neither of them can hear Jill and her disinterest?

Yes Pumpkin ...that's a family endearment here Grin...to Carol delivering everything wryly. Immensely irritating.

PumpkinGordino · 21/10/2014 14:08
Grin

it's my hallowe'en costume

Icimoi · 21/10/2014 14:09

The thing is, the decision about which route the road will take is only the very beginning of the process. The developers will still have to apply for planning permission, which will take ages, and there could well be inquiries, legal challenges etc - it's certainly not a foregone conclusion that they'll get permission. Then they'll have to go through the whole compulsory purchase process. So the suggestion that Deavid and Rooth will alter the course of their own and their children's and mothers' lives based solely on the initial decision is ridiculous. As an absolute minimum, surely they'd decide to stay put to avoid disturbing the children's education?

It sounds to me as if the SWs have lost faith in the storyline and want to wind it up quickly.

Icimoi · 21/10/2014 14:12

And when exactly are they planning to tell their teenage children?

Exactly! The kids aren't noticeably stupid, they know the road issue is there and must be wondering about how it will affect them, and it's difficult to believe they didn't know about the estate agents' visit. They're certainly going to notice when they come round measuring up and taking photos. Yet we're supposed to believe that either they haven't been told or consulted, or that they have and they all mimed their approval without making any of the teenage fuss you'd expect about being made to leave their schools and friends.

PumpkinGordino · 21/10/2014 14:16

the children are of an age where they could refuse point blank to go. it's not like they don't have plenty of family to stay with if everyone were agreeable

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 21/10/2014 18:20

I think the sw wanted a swift dramatic storyline and won't want to complicate matters by making the road storyline at all believable

Lizzie is so lame. Just waiting for them to blame it on the menopause because all women go loopy then don't they???

Abbey road meet up to discuss the archers would be fab!!

Icimoi · 21/10/2014 18:38

Is Heather back at home now, do we know? If so, I wonder what has been done about her care and why that can't continue?

CuttedUpPear · 21/10/2014 18:54

Who else on this thread has been watching the Abbey Road cam?

GypsyFloss · 21/10/2014 18:56

Heather's current care package is conspicuously absent in the discussions right now.

How can the SW get the HelRob storyline so right , apart from the impending baby and yet cock up so much else...the road and farm sale (yawn) , lizard and Rotaboy ( mind bleach) , Carol the wry witch (really?)?

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 21/10/2014 18:59

Because hellrob was a pre existing story?

GypsyFloss · 21/10/2014 19:08

True and that makes it even more amazing!

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 21/10/2014 19:12

Susan is great isn't she! Just fulfils the role perfectly!

I hope they're not turning Eddie and the clan into joke figures.

RhinestoneCowgirl · 21/10/2014 19:22

yy BYOS with Susan it's the little things like 'Coaster?' when she was talking to Ed.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 21/10/2014 19:26

I'm always anxious when Ed goes near the shoot...

Was ready to buy a hat when he pointed out that he and Emma are not married - now I'm fearing an Emmerdale-style deathbed wedding.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 21/10/2014 19:45

or when she was saying to clarrie about jill finding out because 'people talk'

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 21/10/2014 19:52

couldn't will rent them the house at a discount/for free and not pay maintenance (I assume he does).

That along with WTC etc could see them ok couldn't it?

PseudoBadger · 21/10/2014 20:33

Cutted I am watching it through my fingers

Gotta love Radio, right on form.

CuttedUpPear · 21/10/2014 21:28

I seem to recall that Susan is - in real life - ( Shock ) something like a behavioural psychologist or a counselor?

GypsyFloss · 21/10/2014 21:43

Me too Zero . The SW seem to have moved on from writing 101 " Juxtapositions" to module no2 " portents of doom". I'm hoping that we don't get an Ed paralysed by a stray bullet storyline.

GypsyFloss · 21/10/2014 21:44

Some of the best chat and gossip seems to happen whilst those two pot yoghurts.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 21/10/2014 21:46

why do the sw all have it in for ed?

this silly VW story that was scrapped (thank god) was really dreadful. Ed getting seriously injured/killed at his brothers shoot would be equally dreadful.

It is very formulaic. Nothing on sean o'connors CV makes me think he is good at character driven stories and nothing we have had so far shows he is any good either

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 21/10/2014 21:47

Gypsy - what is module 3?

GypsyFloss · 21/10/2014 22:14

Hmmmm, not sure. Perhaps " swift endings to improbable storylines" . They could do by having a tragedy ( Ed paralysed ) which makes everyone realise that family is most important etc etc and that could tie up LizRoyHayley, the farm sale, the road, the Tuckers move all in one fell swoop.
Then they could just chunder on with HelRob. In fact they could end that too with Rob realising that his rightful place is with his pregnant wife. Clean slate. Module # 4 ...
