As we abbreviate your name here BYOS, in my head you are Bring Your Own Snowman rather than Build... Rather like a bring your own bottle . Makes me smile each time to imagine to what event I could Bring my own snowman Smile

PumpkinGordino · 21/10/2014 22:22

Me too gypsy! In fact I've only just noticed that it is Build not Bring

GypsyFloss · 21/10/2014 22:29

Fancy that, Pumpkin Grin

BringYourOwnSnowman · 21/10/2014 22:29

What?

It's a fed up of frozen name

i like the change. everyone should bring a snowman wherever they go

GypsyFloss · 21/10/2014 22:37

Grin BYOS now all we need to MN to let loose some snowmen emoticons and we're sorted!

BringYourOwnSnowman · 21/10/2014 22:44

Yes - I was quite astounded that they introduced a tardis when they clearly should have prioritised a snowman. Maybe they'll get their shit together before xmas (glares menacingly)

I think we need a creative writing teacher to critic their efforts. It does feel a bit like painting by numbers atm

I still think the Roy suicide might happen (Roy goes back to LL to find a spreadsheet, ayley finds out and makes move to brum permanent...) but I fear the other option of liz taking him back in her office and her bed may be the likely option as it is the most scandalous

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 21/10/2014 23:01

My we're a ghoulish lot. Remember the suicide we were all gearing up for last Christmas?Grin

(I am not watching any road-cam....)

PumpkinGordino · 21/10/2014 23:05

I avoided the abbey road cam because it dredged up unwelcome memories of frustration when I used to have to drive down abbey road with tourists flinging themselves at my front bumper

BringYourOwnSnowman · 21/10/2014 23:07

Well it's definitely not improved pumpkin!

Icimoi · 21/10/2014 23:18

or when she was saying to clarrie about jill finding out because 'people talk'

That made me laugh. Maybe we should run a sweepstake on how long it will take Susan to let the juicy details out accidentally within Jill's hearing, just so that she can have a lovely time gossiping about her reaction.

TheOnlyOliviaMumsnet · 21/10/2014 23:25

Marking place for another time.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 22/10/2014 00:05

If the secret lasts till Sunday Susan will stalk Jill to church where something in Alan's sermon will give her an opening...

"Oooh you must know all about [insert biblical reference] what with your family troubles?
I'm sure you'd never have thought Elizabeth would behave like that?
I mean, with Roy being an employee.
But then, they do say your children go on surprising you till the day you die.
(And she has lost her husband poor thing.)
Of course I've been lucky with my Christopher.
And even Emma's settled down now.
And now Neil's got this promotion at Bridge Farm....
Etc, etc..."

OddFodd · 22/10/2014 05:43

Ah here you all are! I think that is exactly how it will go down zero :o

Are you me Pumpkin? Am avoiding Abbey Rd cam for the exact same reason. Used to drive me potty stopping for people who then wouldn't cross because they didn't want a car in shot!

Great thread title Pseudo!

GypsyFloss · 22/10/2014 05:45

I like it Zero. I reckon Jill will be most unhappy to discover that the rest if the clan know and kept her in the dark.

stilllearnin · 22/10/2014 07:30

Re Route B - Can I just drag up Bolloxfest as very recent this-is-not-how-these-things-happen-in-real-life? The Council will first choose route B and Ruth will be secretly pleased while the rest of the village are horrified. Then it will drop it due to the sink hole where there is (stilll) a lake in a hill. Then Ruth will want to move anyway and everyone will realise she is being incredibly selfish.

stilllearnin · 22/10/2014 09:06

Oh CUP I think Susan is an academic and Neil is a GP? Loved the clarrie and Susan scenes - like it used to be Smile

My dp tried to talk about TA this morning. He asked vaguely about Brine- took less than 30 secs for me to expose him as a non-believer.

trevortrevorslattery · 22/10/2014 09:54

people talk brilliant. I also love the way Susan says Illizyburth. Like Christyfur

Ugh I hope Ed doesn't get shot at the shoot Sad

PumpkinGordino · 22/10/2014 10:06

everybody on TA seems to say Elizabeth weirdly IMO

BringYourOwnSnowman · 22/10/2014 10:21

I imagine its because they involuntarily pull a 'chewing a wasp' face whenever they think of her

Lightroom · 22/10/2014 10:41

Longtime lurker on these threads. I met someone who works on TA this week and came over all fangirl. He wouldn't tell me anything, except that the actor who plays Rob doesn't know how his character will develop.

BYOS, I teach creative writing and will be happy to critique after I've listen to TO on Sunday. Smile

BringYourOwnSnowman · 22/10/2014 10:46

Lightroom - as a teacher of creative writing don't you find it all a bit clunky?

Icimoi · 22/10/2014 10:51

How many people called Elizabeth actually use their full name on a day to day basis? I may have led a sheltered life, but all the ones I know are generally happy with Liz, Lizzy or Beth.

I think she should actually be known as the Middle-Aged Tart, or MAT for short.

PumpkinGordino · 22/10/2014 10:55

nancy b-s article

Lightroom · 22/10/2014 10:56

Yep, BYOS. Clunky and inconsistent. The tone changes depending on who's written the episode, and even though some eps are well-written, it's more about plot than character these days, so even the decent writing is at the mercy of the plot machine. But I've been listening for 20 years and can't walk away now...

I did plead with the TA insider to reassure me that David won't leave and tear the heart out of Ambridge, but he said nothing.

BringYourOwnSnowman · 22/10/2014 11:03

That's how I feel Lightroom - it's always been so beautifully character driven (except for a few blips) and now it's all plot

Not convinced he has brought in new listeners either - I think a lot of people listen again on iplayer - I often miss half the episode due to children so go back to iplayer to catch up
