Robbieeeee! It's meee, it's Jessieeee! I've come home. I'm so cold! Let me in-a-your window. The Archers pay homage to Wuthering Heights?

I didn't think Roy sounded suicidal. More a case of massive self-pity.

LillianGish · 19/10/2014 22:43

Zero - a fellow Beckett fan! I might have guessed. Took DH to see that same programme at the Royal Court earlier in the year and he was totally bamboozled (especially by the total blackout for Not I).

HamAndPlaques · 19/10/2014 22:56

Snell's Last Tape.

Absolutely right abut Roy's self pity. It's all about him & what he's lost.
That's why I think he'll try it on a 'they'll all be sorry when I'm dead' impulse.

More likely, he'll have a pheasant-induced road incident and everyone will wonder if it was an accident or not. Either Hayley or Lizzie will feel it's her fault and he'll end up with one or other of them. My guess is Lizzie. They deserve to be unhappy together.

On a lighter note, can we infer anything about the timing of the HB from Justin's shooting schedule?

unitarian · 20/10/2014 00:21

Eddie's bringing together chicken/turkey testicles for reading omens along with Mexican cult of the dead knick knacks while Jennifer's reading John Tregorran's spiritualism collection and Carol's brewing concoctions which might or might not be added to the cider supply. Grin

LillianGish · 20/10/2014 07:34

And let's not forget Jill's visitation by the ghost of Doris.

ppeatfruit · 20/10/2014 10:08

I just caught up and to be fair Roy he did say to Brian that he's caused so much hurt to Hayley et al how can they forget? l I loved Brian's discomfiture which you could almost feel !

Oh and Roy mentioned that Vicky had a 'go' at him and his Dad and Kate are sooo angry.

unitarian · 20/10/2014 10:11

Ah, yes. That too.

When I confidently stated on the last thread that the HB was likely to be next weekend I had mentally lost a week in October. (I blame all the Halloween cosies in the shops!).
I meant that I think it's going to be on Halloween or All Saints' Day.

Swannykazoo · 20/10/2014 10:12

You know you're an arse when you're taking relationship advice from Brian Aldridge
Love this.

I knew Linda was Mrs Goggins from Postman Pat but DH was highly sceptical.

Eastpoint · 20/10/2014 11:53

I think Brian is a good person to talk to Roy, after all he has direct personal experience & has stayed married.

CuttedUpPear · 20/10/2014 11:56

Brine? Ha!
It's Jennydarling that kept the marriage together, not him.

Now Hayley has left for Brum, I doubt she will be back.

Keeping in mind the SW's aim for a cull to comply with budget cuts (less actors, more birds) I don't expect to see Hayley back anytime at all.

ppeatfruit · 20/10/2014 12:58

True Eqstpoint let's face it JD hasn't got a clean record in her relationship history either has she?

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 20/10/2014 13:11

Here's Mr O'Connor confirming everything we've said. No spoilers though!

(Telegraph but also on BBC blog.)

ppeatfruit · 20/10/2014 13:32

Thanks ZeroSomeGame IMO the most interesting part of that interview was the fact the VW had wanted to put our Ed in prison!! FGS.

SomethingOnce · 20/10/2014 14:11

Relationship advice from Brian!

Oh dear, Roy. Oh dear.

[shakes head]

WipsGlitter · 20/10/2014 15:26

Marking place...

BasketzatDawn · 20/10/2014 16:38

The scene with Rota and Brine was done well, as Brine's actor is vv good and did the 'discomfort' well.

I can't recall who said it but I agree Phoeb's actor is improving.

I have a feeling maybe the Brookfield sale talk is off now they realise how (relatively)little they will get. Ruth and David do know now the sibs want their share out.

ppeatfruit · 20/10/2014 17:07

It was me Basketz Grin Mind you there's plenty of scope for improvement !! That was also mentioned (obliquely) in the O'Connor interview; talking about whether the children are from drama schools or other places. IMO and E it's the casting directors who are responsible.

BasketzatDawn · 20/10/2014 17:46

h dear, I didn't see the interview. I did save the link somewhere. For later. I do this fairly often. Blush

BasketzatDawn · 20/10/2014 17:47

oh, not h. obviously!

CuttedUpPear · 20/10/2014 18:07

Brine always used to go to Deeeevid for his self obsessed whinging relationship advice.

I'd like to see Roy try that one on Deeeevid right now. He'd probably get a clobbering about the ears with a planning application handbook.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 20/10/2014 19:04

Love David's lack of sympathy for his sister!

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 20/10/2014 19:07

Didn't I say (at least two threads past) that between Elizabeth and Roy the Hunt Ball arrangements would unravel?

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 20/10/2014 19:08

Why are they so desperate to find a farm now? They're not very sensible. Finding David's keenness unrealistic tbh.
