Have you had your free venison burger?

No worries, Bluestocking, I'll answer to anything as long as it's polite! I am rather Mumsy, as it happens, or so my children would have me believe.

GypsyFloss · 19/06/2014 19:58

So Lizzie...how long before someone pisses on her tent at 4 in the morning and she wants to go home?

WillieWaggledagger · 19/06/2014 20:09

bluestocking yes DID i think

here

Bluestocking · 19/06/2014 20:24

I just don't know how this Lizzie-Roy-festival thing is going to play out. It's pretty embarrassing so far - he is definitely wooing her and I think Hayley would be very put out if she knew what was going on.

GypsyFloss · 19/06/2014 20:43

I wouldn't blame her to be honest.

Hakluyt · 19/06/2014 20:44

I have a horrible feeling that the script writers are going to make Lizzie discover her inner raver- which will be so embarrassing I might have to eat my own foot.

BiscuitMillionaire · 19/06/2014 23:48

With Roy and Lizzie: I think one of them will move in for a kiss, and the other one will go 'what are you doing?' and huge embarrassment and awkwardness will follow. I did LOL at Roy's comment the other day about making sure she has a good time. So maybe it will be him making a fool of himself.

Ehhn · 19/06/2014 23:53

Also, Roy went all stuttery when Hayley asked him to comment on Lizzie's looks the other day - definite crush symptoms....

CuttedUpPear · 20/06/2014 02:51

I can't stand it any longer, I have to speak out.
This ridiculous (albeit cute in an annoying way) storyline about Lizzie going to the festival with Roy.

Loxstock is THIS summer, right? In a month or so? And they are still doing their research?

I hold my hand up here. I produce festivals for a living. There is no way that you would be at this stage by now. I have been fuming for months - this kind of research should have been done a year ago, the bands would be booked last winter and as for the trolley company - forget it Roy! They will have their season booked out completely. There are several quality festivals going on in the UK every single weekend from May to September and all this vague supposition that they might book this or get that is raising my blood pressure.

I guess they could be building up to a big flop where there's not a mobile toilet to hire in the country and the punters have to do their business in the manicured hedges of Lower Loxley, but I doubt it.
Gah.

PseudoBadger · 20/06/2014 06:16

I agree Cutted. I make Event Organisers' lives hell for a living - why haven't they attended any multi agency safety advisory groups for example? Who has produced their event management plan and other paperwork? Although where I work we do get organisers who take it right to the wire, something of this size would be getting angry phone calls and cancellation threats by now.

WillieWaggledagger · 20/06/2014 06:45

Cutted even as someone who has absolutely nothing to do with festivals (though I am somewhat involved in the organisation of large conferences), I can tell that this is unrealistic. We have a village fete this weekend that's been over a year in the organisation!

WillieWaggledagger · 20/06/2014 06:57

They

WillieWaggledagger · 20/06/2014 06:57

They should be organising next year's event by now!

GypsyFloss · 20/06/2014 07:22

Yes to all of the above.

stilllearnin · 20/06/2014 07:58

I go to festivals for a living (tho through a variety of missed comms missing Glasto this year ) I raised the toilet issue ages ago. They reckon it'll be on August bank holiday too! I don't think it'll be a flop although Roy did mention their preferred food vendors would be elsewhere a few weeks ago. No band is going to say now 'oh yeah I'm free on the busiest festival weekend of the year'! Grrrrr

I am looking forward to midsummer bonfire tho

Bluestocking · 20/06/2014 07:58

Bolloxfest is THIS YEAR? I'd somehow imagined it was summer 2015. That is absolutely ridiculous! However, I'm sure the newly minted Ambridge Festival Fairy will make sure it all goes swimmingly and David Cameron, Jeremy Clarkson and Alex James are snapped sharing a joke.

Actually, there's a thought - perhaps Alex James would do for Cheesey? They could bond over the Borsetshire Blue.

stilllearnin · 20/06/2014 08:00

Cutted I wonder if I go to any of yours! Would be fantastic if a field friends turned out to be a fellow Ambridge holic. For reasons of anonymity I will need to just ask random people in a muddy field! Or are you at the more refined end of things!

Swannykazoo · 20/06/2014 08:49

Bolloxfest has made my morning

Bluestocking · 20/06/2014 08:53

I can't take credit for Bolloxfest, Puggle, it was a witty PP - it's far too good not to borrow!

WillieWaggledagger · 20/06/2014 09:07

book that in for the thread title in august!

ppeatfruit · 20/06/2014 09:56

It's nice to hear people who really know stuff about festivals, thinking about it; maybe rather than 'wooing' Lizzie he's buttering up an employer who'll probably sack him as soon as she realises how unrealistic their own Bolloxfest Grin plans are! Grin

BoreOfWhabylon · 20/06/2014 10:19

Bolloxfest! Grin

Am I alone in hoping it will be Roy who trips over guy ropes, rendering him unable to pack up the tents etc, leaving Lizzard to do it all?

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 20/06/2014 10:26

A slight variation on ppeat's suggestion; I wonder if the (presumed) coming fumblings and subsequent mortification of all concerned will be the thing that brings the wholly unrealistic LoxFest to a halt. Roy urgently departing to a job on the other side of Borcetshire perhaps.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 20/06/2014 10:50

Of course it's not impossible that festival fever could leave Elizabeth (b.1967) as the mother of Roy's secret child.....

ppeatfruit · 20/06/2014 10:59

It'll be interesting to see how it pans out Zero i'm liking this theme!

Tho of course stillearnin the crap bands would be free at any time Grin have we heard who's headlining Loxfest? Maybe the band that Jolene is still trying to cobble together Grin

I liked the rendition of My Way that we were honoured to hear while Fallon and the copper were getting friendier!! NOT Grin
