TA is in a purple patch at the moment, rewarding listeners for wading through the dross of the previous year few months. Welcome all!

Oh! How I loved Henry drawing a picture of himself with Lonely Cow.

Martorana · 18/02/2014 09:13

Unless Darrell is going to fit the new kitchen.......

Tommy · 18/02/2014 09:32

will Kirsty be the saviour in all this? She seems to have the measure of Knob...

PseudoBadger · 18/02/2014 09:46

Next title has to include Sleeping With The Enemy doesn't it?

PseudoBadger · 18/02/2014 09:50

Helen "Did you sleep with her?" Rob - "Dear god no we didn't sleep"
Rob "She must have made it up in the spur of the moment" - just like you eh!

Drawer was a topical insert for flooded towns. But if Darrell comes to fit a new one I'm off!

Go for it Pseudo. Eminently suitable.

We've really zipped through this one.

ComposHat · 18/02/2014 10:20

Is there a prize for the thousandth post?

I was speaking to my mum about the archers and she seems to think that the scriptwriters are throwing us a massive red herring and rob is on the level. She pointed out they created similar suspicion around Vickoi when she took up with Moike Tugger implying she was a golddiggger, setting Brendarr Tugger against her etc.

I think she's wrong as the depression/suicide attempt story was so obviously designed to press hellin's buttons.

lljkk · 18/02/2014 10:44

I could believe Rob is on the level, maybe because I don't have fine-tuned radar for E-Ars. Anyone playing with Hellin's mind has got to be a bad manoeuvre, though.

OddFodd · 18/02/2014 10:54

I think the SW have laid a long EA trail - I'd forgotten about the make up thing ( and that was Rob wanting her to wear less make up, not more). I do still think Vickoi was a bit of a gold-digger - going pt without even discussing it with Mike was a bit off I thought

Knob is such a fake though anyway - even if he wasn't an EA (which I think her is) - all that "Oh darling it's so good to hear your voice" (but I don't love you enough to drive home to see you Hmm )

He's definitely a bad'un

Songbird · 18/02/2014 13:01

JennyDarling was unforgivably awful and snobby last night, it made me really quite cross. I always though she was kinder than that (with snobbish tendencies). And being wound up by Clarrie wasn’t enough. I would love Clarrie to have said (in a semi-jokey way) ‘serves you right for being a snob’ or some such.

The Helen and Rob thing was perfectly predictable – so well done.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 18/02/2014 13:15

Jenny was not kind to Tony when Bridge Farm was in trouble; she sent him away with a flea in his ear. (Whereas lovely Lillian offered £££ with no lecture.)

And, while Clarrie may believe that names are still put down from birth for Eton, Jenny really should have known better.

I wonder where Ruairi will be going in due course......

StickyProblem · 18/02/2014 13:17

ComposHat your mum is so right about Vicky! That was the first time I ever got into TA - I thought it was so exciting - I thought she was going to jilt Mike at the alter/murder him/run off with his money/put his children against him - no. They just got married and muddled along...Now I realise, that's what TA does!

I do hope we're going to get better value from Evil Rob.

TheOriginalSteamingNit · 18/02/2014 13:44

YY to Composhatsmum - they set something huge up and then just let it die away! I was sure that Kate was going to sneak Phoebe off in the middle of the night to SA, when P was about 9, but in the end, off she went and nothing came of it!

Clarrie's awfully tolerant - when Jenny was talking about 'people like that', it was pretty bloody insulting to Clarrie too! I don't think I'd have been up for a jolly jape like that!

SomethingOnce · 18/02/2014 14:18

I agree with ComposHat's mum; I fear Rob may turn out to be a good 'un, that we've all misjudged.

I can't bear Helen so tbh I'd prefer him to be a total bastard.

TheOriginalSteamingNit · 18/02/2014 14:36

Oh god, I can just imagine in 4 years saying 'do you remember how when they first brought Rob in he was shaping up to be really sinister? What happened to all that, then? And he has some ex-wife somewhere doesn't he - who hasn't been heard from in years?'.

That would be so Archers!

polyhymnia · 18/02/2014 14:47

What's an E A??

harrietspy · 18/02/2014 14:52

Emotional abuser, polyhymnia.

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 18/02/2014 14:52

Emotional abuser, poly

(though I always think estate agent first)

polyhymnia · 18/02/2014 15:26

Ah right, that makes sense. Thanks

Martorana · 18/02/2014 15:58

At first I thought that it was incredibly out of character for Jenny- but then I thought maybe it's her nouveau-ness coming out?

Panzee · 18/02/2014 17:15

I was in a cafe today and saw three ladies drinking coffee. All very well dressed. One in her 80s or more, and the other two I think were her daughters. I named them Peggy, Jennifer and Lilian. :o

harrietspy · 18/02/2014 17:18

My mum has been texting me all afternoon having listened to TA at 2pm. She's not one for soaps or conversational texting but I told her how good it had been of late and now she's hooked...
