TA is in a purple patch at the moment, rewarding listeners for wading through the dross of the previous year few months. Welcome all!

She's such a spoiled (adult) brat.

I have some serious catching up to do.

Hello, can I join?

What's with the fondant fancy then? Even Jane Garvey mentioned it on Woman's hour. I thought I'd heard all of the last weeks episodes.

Sod off, Cheesey, and don't let the door hit you on the arse on the way out. This is great - she'll be trapped at Rob's. Let the Sleeping With The Enemy fun and games commence.
And as for Baron Sausage, he just gets more and more crass and thick-skinned. Do you think he forgot he'd had the building-our-own-house convo with the Big Bapper rather than Krusty? Do you think he actually knows which one he's with at the moment?

MrsJoe At Peggy's summit meeting, immediately after delivering her bombshell she said something like

"Now then, anyone for another drink - or a fondant fancy."

It was stunning. Devastating. The line of the decade (maybe.)

I am looking forward to listening to tonight's ep after reading this.

I particularly loved Helen's dramatic " we'll never darken your door again" , swiftly followed by " just as soon as I can move out". So does she intend to subject them both to yet another to bout of torture by silence? spoilt adult brat is right.

She is so ungrateful! Tony and Pat have looked after her and Henry for so long, and now she is having a teenage strop

Pseudo - you are Queen of Borsetshire! :o

I hope they tell Hellin to piss off once she comes running back for babysitting favours.

Going back to the Omnibus, did anyone else notice the abrupt about-turn that Peggy did on the H&R front? When Jennydarling told her, she was as shocked as shocked can be ('but he's married!') and then by the few days later when they came for tea, that was a mere detail.

I listen in the week but the omni has a much more satisfying story arc on the whole (or feels like a cobbled together mess!)

I do wonder how long it will run with this storyline. It could be years. I kind of hope it does because it's so deliciously awful to listen to. I was nodding away at the end of tonight's epi 'yup there's Helen isolated from her family..' He really is running the abuse playbook isn't he?

Kind of hoping the wheels will come off the Kirsty/Tom bandwagon too. WHY is she marrying him?

Report
BeaLola · 02/02/2014 23:55

She is marrying him because there is no other single male in Ambridge in her age range ... If she didnt mary Tom it would either be Jim or Joe or wait for freddie or Josh to be of age !

OddFodd I agree about Piggoi's turn about. Inconsistent.

No other single men in Ambridge? But what about the lovely Jazzer Grin? I reckon he'd be more fun than Tom anyway (not difficult)

ComposHat · 03/02/2014 00:49

Mr Pullen and his dicky bladder? I always imagine him having a 10p size size stain on his fawn C&A slacks due to bladder weakness. Not enough to turn a young woman's head.

Jazzer and JIm (or in showbiz power couple terms: Jizzer) are clearly having a passionate, yet unspoken and unconsummated love affair.

Jazzer's serial shagging and Jim sniffing around all the merry widows of the village is clearly massive over compensation. I imagine it will all end rather like the closing scenes of 'Death in Venice.'

What is Helen going to do for childcare & work now? I find her short-sightedness quite bizarre.

Kirsty's tried all the other men in for size and has made her way back to Tom :o
From his POV, Kirsty or Brenda, they're just the future incubator for the mini Tom.... I don't like Tom

Helen will still be expecting to work at the awful Ambridge Organics and have her parents run round after the wonderchild. Of course she does. She expects to be as vile to them as she likes and still have all the good stuff they can provide. That's what she's always done. It'll work too. They will desperately try to appease her. I suspect they'll find it hard work though because Rob will be undermining them.....

WillieWaggledagger · 03/02/2014 08:03

except that she can properly punish them by not letting them see henry... decisions, decisions

Report
Panzee · 03/02/2014 08:50

That was their problem last time they fell out, wasn't it? (Think it was when she was pregnant). They were so worried about not seeing The Grandchild that they bent to her every demand. And Helen is "fragile" and went all weird about her calorie intake and insistence on eating stir fries instead of yoghurts and sausages, or whatever they eat at Bridge Farm.

Having said that, if we are going down the DV route it's better for her that Helen is still on even the tiniest speaking terms with her parents. If they cut her off completely then Helen is in real trouble.

They only eat cheese at Bridgefarm.

Report
OddFodd · 03/02/2014 09:51

Yep, I think NL is right - they'll bend over backwards to appease her. That's what they're doing at the moment after all. There's been no confrontation with her about the fact that she lied to them about her jewellery classes as far as I know - that was a conversation that Pat had with Tom wasn't it?

Hellin is brazen in her misguided self-righteousness. I don't think I've ever hated her quite as much as I do right now :o
