TA is in a purple patch at the moment, rewarding listeners for wading through the dross of the previous year few months. Welcome all!

BeaLola - so true about the towels

GypsyFloss · 17/02/2014 21:05

The way he lied, then gave a concession to her regarding the bed and then reminded her just how lucky she was to have got him all in one small conversation. It made my skin crawl.

Bea · 17/02/2014 21:25

oh spoiler for me please!!!!
someone who knows!!!!

PM me!!!

Tommy · 17/02/2014 21:38

my skin was crawling too..... he had to think carefully about every word didn't he?! yeuch

harrietspy · 17/02/2014 21:50

So horrible that Henry's involved too...

CarolineKnappShappey · 17/02/2014 22:13

Can I get a spoiler too?

I don't know, I think Hellin's self interest might actually save her, as she was quite Bolshie before Rob lied through his teeth tho her.

Where is Jess though?

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 17/02/2014 22:40

Somehow this has dropped off TIO Shock

I think the horror of Friday broke mn (it certainly did in my house, I spent most of Valentine's evening trying to get onto this thread and failing). Haven't been able to catch up since!

Oooh Rob gives me the creeeeeps. Although I agree with CarolineKS above that Hellqueen was quite icy with him before she fell for his lies tonight...

WillieWaggledagger · 17/02/2014 22:52

Lol pasbeaucoup I didn't think to link the outage to this thread! I did wonder whether it was to force people to spend time with their significant others Grin

I was home alone but dp's exGF didn't turn up drunk Wink

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 17/02/2014 22:58

I totally assumed that Valentine's night Archers excitement had broken MN.

Cakesnbeer · 17/02/2014 23:11

Oooh it is so good at the moment. Yeah the Jennifer moment was overdone but still so luscious:) and hellin so unsympathetic but doomed.

Am trying to convert dh but he is still recovering from the death of Nigel.

I need a spoiler! And a plot synopsis! I have been away since Saturday with DP and missed the last few episodes Angry

nennypops · 17/02/2014 23:29

It's all Henry's fault, isn't it? By waking and diverting Hellin at the crucial moment he gave Rob the time he needed to think up an appropriate lie.

Mind you, I feel sorry for the kid. He's destined for a childhood consisting of his mother going off with a succession of abusive daddies, interspersed with her continuing to be generally unpleasant with the rest of the world and having almighty rows with his grandparents at regular intervals. It's not as if the sausage king will provide any reliable support for him either, especially if or when Piggoi gets bored with him anticipating his inheritance and decides to leave the lot to a cats' home.

BeaLola · 17/02/2014 23:45

Jess will be back .... Assuming that she is really an ok person she will be worried about little henry. Im thinking she may go and see Pat to warn her about Robs nasty ways..........

Although Helen was icy she is sooooo desperate to prove her parents wrong and to have found her perfect love that I think she will fall for Robs lies more and more.

Why though did he move Helen in if he still wants Jess ?

OddFodd · 17/02/2014 23:47

If Hellin were on MN, she'd have got a right pasting for moving Henry in with a man she hardly knows. Their affair started in the summer didn't it?

WillieWaggledagger · 18/02/2014 05:21

Yeah but he's so brilliant with Henry
Hmm

GypsyFloss · 18/02/2014 06:27

CuttedUpPear a synopsis...

  1. tense dinner at Bull for Tony's birthday, Helen hasn't confronted Rob and is being distant and ice queeny, collectively we have hopes that he has met his match.
  2. Kenton and Jolene role model, how a good relationship works, with mutual respect and give and take.
  3. Can't remember much else
  4. Last night, comedy interlude with Jenny being a crashing snob about Susan's supposed multi-million win and Clarrie playing up to saying they were going to buy Netherbourne Hall.
  5. A sticky kitchen drawer that Brian states he will fix. Never had him down as a handy man, rather a one who got a man in.
  6. Helen confronts Rob, Henry cried & distracted her thus allowing the slimeball to plan his lies.
  7. He claims that Jess has mental health probs and tried to OD before hence them going to Canada. I think he also alluded to some misconduct at work involving a child.
  8. He won Helen around, promised her a new bed and told he he had chosen her. In essence , you're mine and how could you ever doubt me.

O yes, I'd forgotten about the make-up. The writing is very good at the moment, with so much of his controlling behaviour happening off-mic (or however you say off-screen for the radio).

It's going to be grisly, isn't it?

Martorana · 18/02/2014 08:49

The jarring note was Jenny. She turned into a caricature of herself - no sublety at all. And what is the stuck drawer all about?

WillieWaggledagger · 18/02/2014 08:53

i wondered whether the drawer thing was highlighting her minor problems compared to tony's / those of other less well-off people? (not that she hasn't had things to deal with in the past, but...)

WillieWaggledagger · 18/02/2014 08:54

it sort of fitted in with her 'disaster' about the hair colour

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 18/02/2014 08:58

New kitchen at Home Farm? Can't see where that would lead, though.

The stuck drawer was a device to get them to the pub for Clarrie's tease.

Good lord - look at the post tally time!
