TA is in a purple patch at the moment, rewarding listeners for wading through the dross of the previous year few months. Welcome all!

How did I not know about the radio addicts on Mumsnet? I'm a fairly recent listener to The Archers (since 2002 ish-when Ruth was thinking about running off with Sam the cowman)It might've been a bit later than 2002. Never missed an episode since then, but I listen to the Omnibus editions on Sunday.
Can't wait to find out what happens with the Helen/Rob/Jess triangle.
I will be catching up with this thread after Sunday(I don't want any spoilers!) Helen irritates me beyond belief.

I hope it doesn't drag and drag on.

I love the new editor though.

I really don't like Helen but even i was screaming "Grab Henry and get out of there now!" at the radio.

I get the feeling it's going to get nasty!

Tonight's episode made me feel sick - and not because of the tuna. She'd cooked and was all pleased with herself so of course he had to knock her down to size. Awful - because there are women really living that.

You're right, Temperamental (or shall I call you Corvids?) - I was just enjoying a bit of pedantic arsehattery!
I loved the Knobber's drama-queen "bleaurgh! bleaurgh!!" when he came into the kitchen. He'd been practising that since Hellin told him what she'd cooked, hadn't he?

Nicoise has both. I can't wait to listen!

Technically you're right blue - but I still think it's what the SWs had in mind, what with the olives and capers. Tuna is sometimes substituted for anchovies in salad nicoise (and for some people that makes it no longer a nicoise I think). ((or does a nicoise have both?))

I have known folk who went bleugh at tuna.

arf at Sheeping with the enemy

bugger I forgot to listen.

Report
Bluestocking · 18/02/2014 19:36

Puttanesca doesn't have tuna in it. It can have anchovies, which are much more likely to make a person go "bleurgh" than tuna!
Rob the Knob is a real piece of work, isn't he? Pretty soon, Helen won't know whether she's coming or going. If you'll pardon the expression.

The topical inserts felt too late but I was a bit alarmed by the whole Kenton/Jolene stress. They are doing this as counterpoint aren't they? I shall be really cross otherwise. And yy to Sheeping with the Enemy

I was cringeing listening to Rob and Helen. One more controlling step. If the writers ( and I'm looking at you Keri) turn this into a happy and normal relationship I shall be very miffed.

And then even more so listening to bloody Ruth emoting loudly about the flooded sheep. Argghhhhhh. The only good bit was how happy Tony sounded.

Oh yes, pasta puttanesca - I knew that but didn't realise at the time. V nice touch!

Why do I feel I should be offering my lawns to a sheep from the floodlands?
