I have been a devoted listener for a fair few years. I have cried, cheered, and giggled through various ups and downs.
But I am now finding it so depressing. With the current episodic storylines - which are all quite unpleasant - you no longer get that lovely feeling that you are eavesdropping on a community that you would quite like to live in.
It just feels a bit nasty. It also feels a bit like Eastenders.

It feels ridiculous to be sad, but the good people of Ambridge have been my companions all the way through having very young children. They felt like friends when I hadn't had. Grown up conversation all day.

Hopefully this will pass and I can come back when they' ve finished mucking it up.

I was footling around on the Archers A-Z list and I notced that Paul was played by MFS. I thought that I recognised the name so looked him up: he's been knocking around for quite a while. He was in The HeeBeeGeeBees too.

I looked at the who's who and scarily, Clive Horrobin is apparently played by Clive Horribin.

The others are imposters, very few of them look like they should.

They used to have a hide-the-photo button in the good old days when it was a potted biography of the character, not the actor.

I rarely listen any more. I have a theory that someone wants to get rid of it, but it would cause an outcry so they are making it rubbish on purpose to drive all the listeners away. Maybe that could have an alternative Ambridge Extra consisting if Lynda Snell, Jim, amateur dramatics, jam rivalry and church politics, with the odd bit of milking thrown in.

Well, it's hammy and obvious but the latest episode of AmEx (the horrible Horrobins argue among themselves and fall into the Trap of Pay Day Loans) is huge fun, plus Emma comes out of it looking pretty good, which I think someone said they wanted to hear.

I just listened grendels but I must admit the Horrible Horrobins live up the their name and I'm not sure I want to continue listening esp. as CLIVE has turned up I reckoned he was one of Keith's gang before but now we are supposed to believe (or is it dozey Donna who's s'posed to believe) he's going straight?

Actually, change that. Can Tom be the tenant who dies of CO poisoning and Willyum be the prosecuted landlord. Result!

I was pleased to hear Will being brought down a peg by Eddie on last night's edition.

I don't mind the vast majority of characters on TA but Will, Tom and Shula really make my teeth itch.

PS Grimma we have already had a carbon dioxide story - it's a by-product of the anaerobic digester.
