Archers - It's time to put it down like a TB riddled badger

I have been a devoted listener for a fair few years. I have cried, cheered, and giggled through various ups and downs.
But I am now finding it so depressing. With the current episodic storylines - which are all quite unpleasant - you no longer get that lovely feeling that you are eavesdropping on a community that you would quite like to live in.
It just feels a bit nasty. It also feels a bit like Eastenders.

It feels ridiculous to be sad, but the good people of Ambridge have been my companions all the way through having very young children. They felt like friends when I hadn't had. Grown up conversation all day.

Hopefully this will pass and I can come back when they' ve finished mucking it up.

I've warmed to Rosa she's a typical teenager and at least the actress can almost act not like the 'actress' who tries to act Natalie.

Fallon and Rhys got together when he asked her on a date to the cinema, the height of which seemed to be deciding whether to have nachos or popcorn . He is SO DULL.

Susan was horrified to see Emmurrrr at the food bank and she and Neil are now giving them money every week too help out. However Ed now needs 4K to pay for some random milking equipment that was broken .

No Amex at the mo, Joyce and Arthur stuff was on normal Archers then we didn't hear anything about them for a few weeks, then suddenly heard Arthur had died. Obviously Lillian will now find out about Matt's Machiavellian attempts to get them out of the flat and blame Arthur's death on him, pushing her into the arms of church-restoring Paul that little bit quicker..

Amex isn't on at the moment, so Arthur's death was off-screen as it were.
Rhys eventually bothered to ask Fallon on a date!
Susan took Emma to do a Big Shop and they filled the cupboards and fridge and freezer. Then they came to an arrangement that Susan will give Emma £40 or £50 a week for a while. Did you catch the end?

Well Emma was all happy that she can feed her man properly again. Then Ed comes home with the news that he's had to spend/get credit for £4k to fix the milking bale and the associated electrical supply. He sounds absolutely done in.

This week's cliffhanger was Elizabeth and her late husband's father in law discussing conservation roof-lights.

I'm just longing for Lilian to see sense and to set up a rival business with Paul and Darren to do high quality ethical renovations of vicarages and old folks' homes, while Matt gnashes his teeth.

Isn't Rhys dull? Why would you want to sleep with someone who's best chat up line was the relative merits of nachos and hot dogs?
