To keep changing prams? **help me please**

I need help!

I've currently got an almost one year old, and three prams.

I've got, a joie chrome travel system, a bugaboo cameleon 2, and a mothercare Nanu stroller

I had the Joie chrome first and I loved it when ds was tiny, it's light, basket is big it was fab. He just doesn't sit right in it any more, his legs are far too long and he just looks like he's hanging in there by his bum in the harness. Doesn't look comfy at all.

The cameleon is just too bloody heavy. I like the way he sits in the bucket seat, he's got more room and looks comfy. But it's too heavy for what I want it for (I live in countryside lots of hills etc) and I don't drive (well I can but no car or Desire to get myself one) so lots of walking. This is initially why I bought it but it just doesn't work for this. Basket isn't accessible enough for shopping etc, and it's a pain in the arse to get in oh car (mondeo so not small)

The stroller is just used for nursery and I have no issues with it but I want something parent facing.

So - can someone recommend what I should get? I'm trying to sell the bug and the joie.

Ideally I'd like

Parent and world facing, bucket type seat (or just roomy with leg support), big accessible basket, as light as possible, not mega expensive (will prob buy second hand) suitable for a tall 1yom

Have you looked at an oyster 2? They are pretty sturdy, face both ways and if I separate the seat from the chassis it fits neatly in my polo so I'm sure a mondeo would be fine!

Not used mine seriously off-road, but fine over a bumpy park.

ProseccoandPizza · 19/04/2017 13:34

Quinny Buzz. Took my DS from newborn to almost 4. Absolutely loved it! Great for walking and on and off public transport. Sturdy, parent facing and good basket if you buy it as extra.

Starlighter · 19/04/2017 13:36

I've had a lot of pushchairs too! I love them! But there are definitely some awful ones out there, they're not all the same.

Anything by Mamas and Papas or Babystyle Oyster were my faves when mine were babies.

nothercupoftea · 19/04/2017 13:42

I think the hobby one has a point! It's just a buggy, and you already have 3. What does it matter? You push it around, they are all basically the same.

Ok it sounds like your not really looking at the practicalities of a pram as the ones you already have are prams i would never of bought!

Its very common for parents to go off looks in a pram rather than how practical it is for your needs thats why many many parents go through loads of prams and selling 2nd hand prams that are only a few weeks old is very very popular!

Prams with a bucket type seat tend to be quite heavy and bulky in general. This time i have gone for a gb maris pram which is a very compact pam which is parent facing. I did alot of research into it as i had previously made mistakes with dd pram when she was younger so i know what to look out for this time.

Its best to go into a big store and try your child out in the prams and see how you and he feels in them.

Look, an entire thread where people chat about buggies. Bound to be something useful here.

twinklehickorymoomoo · 19/04/2017 13:43

Quinny zapp xtra2. Nice long seat, can be forward or rear facing, lie flat seat, folds in half then in half again so tiny in the car and its super light. The only issue you may have is that it's not really made for off roading, although I've done plenty of country muddy walks with ours, the wheels are small and plastic, but you can't have everything I suppose!

God really? Who are these 4 small people in my house then? Confused Where did they come from?

BeIIatrixLeStrange · 19/04/2017 13:45

said someone who clearly never had a baby

Why would you think that - Do people lose their sense of humor when they give birth?

phoenixtherabbit · 19/04/2017 13:46

Why are people being arsey? I posted in aibu for traffic not nasty smart arse responses Hmm

I quite like the GB prams i never saw any until after i had Ds.

I thought i had bought a practical pram both times, actually. :(

In fact with the Quinny zapp the basket isn't huge so you may struggle there, but I just hang bags off the back and use buggy weights on the front to stop it tipping.

BeIIatrixLeStrange · 19/04/2017 13:47

ChaiTeaTaiChi I don't think you will be allowed in the club though. As you seem to like a laugh

BeIIatrixLeStrange · 19/04/2017 13:49

I think the person who said earlier that this is a classic thread in the making was spot on..

foxychox · 19/04/2017 13:50

Another vote for Quinny buzz...

phoenixtherabbit · 19/04/2017 13:50

I really don't understand what's so funny about commenting on a thread to just basically be nasty?

It's not funny it's pathetic i was only asking for advice

Thanks to those who have given it!

There is a pushchair board.

If you're going to post on aibu you'll have to take the rough with the smooth.

I have had:

Bugaboo chameleon
I candy raspberry
Mountain buggy
Various McLaren type ones

There's one thing or the other wrong with them all. Stick with the Bugaboo, it's grand.

ChaiTeaTaiChi · 19/04/2017 13:50

You could say thanks OP, for the link to the correct topic for your question?
How rude

confusedat23 · 19/04/2017 13:51

I think OP other posters are trying to say maybe you are requesting too much from a single pram and that there simply is not one that exists to fit everything you want from one.

If you make a list from the most important must haves to the least important must haves and then work up from there you might find your perfect pram.

Also everyones opinion is different on what is a good and bad buggy/pram etc and so you will always get lots of different opinions. Have you thought of going to a massive store and just spending your day trying different ones out?

NotAnotherUserName5 · 19/04/2017 13:51

Ignore Localusername OP Smile

The perfect pram is like the holy grail! I don't think I've found one yet that covers all my needs. I have a umbrella Stroller and a double pram.

Babyzen Yoyo? Quinny buzz?

I've sat him in loads and i quite liked the Graco evo and it seemed to tick my boxes but I'm just not sure how good Gracos are?

OP posts:
1Evaline1 · 19/04/2017 13:53

Graco evo suits all your needs

mumofmunchkin · 19/04/2017 13:55

Our "big" pram is a joie trider, great for off road, parent and rear facing, reasonable size basket, my 3.5 year old still just fits in it, frequently have baby in the pram and toddler riding on the front. Only downside is it's a bit bulky, but very comfy to push, and if we dismantle it (takes seconds) we can put it in the boot of a kia rio so would be fine for a mondeo.

1Evaline1 · 19/04/2017 13:55

Graco evo Xt

Not joie trider, sorry, Jane trider!
