The latest Buggy Addicts thread :)

Thank you Tiggy! Think I'm more interested in the quatro now because of raised kicker and all the lovely on board storage and ability to free stand. As you know not driving and using the trains and travelling with a few kids means there's always a lot to carry with us....but I would need ds to have headroom for a long sleep if he needed it so that's my only concern.
It looks similar to the vista in many ways but I'm hoping the seat and air tyres make it a bit better for off road...the vista can tackle a fair bit but I wouldnt try to cross a stream or push it on a pebble beach...

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 14/12/2011 14:35

The only thing about the Qtro is that it is very light on the front end. Its not back heavy but the front wheels are so manoeuverable that they are very easy to push if that makes sense. I am going to upload you a photo or two of DD semi reclined to see if it will help you. I have loads but they arent watermarked etc will just find a couple. BRB

OP posts:
TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 14/12/2011 14:46

I dont have any of her fully reclined. But these are semi reclined and her head seems find. But the back is open like I said earlier. She was just under 3 in these photos and as you know she's tall. She would have been 100cms then.

OP posts:
BrassMonkeyBaubles · 14/12/2011 16:42

Your little one still looks like she has room, and is 7cm taller than my 3.6 y ds too! So I think size wise it could be okay. The hood fabric is not fixed to the seat right? So it wouldn't be like in his nipper where the fabric is part of the seat and pulls tight where the head overhangs the seat back a bit I think....

So now I have to decide if this would work better for me than the summit....infact would I be able to get on the bus with it too as it folds easily?

BrassMonkeyBaubles · 14/12/2011 16:43

Btw your little girl is so pretty! X

misdee · 14/12/2011 16:48

ah when was she three? dd4 is only 88cm tall.

aswellasyou · 14/12/2011 18:17

My daughter's teeny weeny. She's 15 months and I guess about 70-72cm. I've just been to collect her from nursery and the staff were joking about how small she is! Xmas Grin There's a boy there who I thought was about the same age, but he's a good few cms taller and he's one on Christmas day. Apparently he's one of 7 children. His Mum gave birth to him, then went back home to put the dinner on! Xmas Shock

aswellasyou · 14/12/2011 18:18

There are so many gorgeous photos of both your children on BB. They look so cute together. Xmas Smile

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 14/12/2011 18:23

Thank you re the nice things about DD. She was 3 in October. She's got a long back and shorter legs tho! She has heaps of room in the Qtro. There are other photos on the site of her sat straight up. Those are the only reclined ones I have (although I should try and take a few more)
The rear isn't fixed at all. It hangs loose down the back. But it pulls down and covers a reclined child. It doesn't freestand but like I said it does prop against something unlike the Baby Joggers which just slide!
The only thing I will say is that the Baby Joggers do carry nicely using the pull handle - the Easywalker has no where logical. You could use the harness but thats not good. There is a bumper bar, but we dont use bumper bars much. I am not sure I would want to hold it by that either. I think I would rather be folding and carrying a Baby Jogger onto the bus than the Qtro to be utterly honest.

OP posts:
TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 14/12/2011 18:26

My "baby" isn't much smaller than his sister now. In fact he is 17 months old today and I usually measure him on "anniversary" dates. I haven't measured either for ages, so maybe I can get the stick out and measure them later.
My children are gorgeous but then I am utterly biased! There's one of DD in the Qtro with real bags under her eyes though!!

OP posts:
misdee · 14/12/2011 19:06

your dd and ds look very similar :)

my ds is catching up with dd4 very fast. she wears stuff for 12-18months, and some of the unisex stuff i put on him as well and it fits. there is about 6lb between them when last weighed a month or so ago.

suzie38 · 14/12/2011 19:14

My DD is about 86cm at 2.7 months...Wears 12-18 month clothes except Gymboree where she now wears 2T though to be honest some of the leggings seem too short...Maybe she actually has longish legs, which is why her legs looked too long for the Xari...And talking of Gymboree my latest order arrived at 7.21am this morning via the living room window because the I'coo was too overloaded in coats to open the front door!!! And bugger Gymboree have another great collection out!!! Damnations!!!

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 14/12/2011 19:41

Some ?%#Â¥ has just bought the Taga but given they live in Spain, what's the betting they have no plans to collect???? Grrrr!!

OP posts:
aswellasyou · 14/12/2011 20:03

How annoying! I hate it when people do that, why not at least ask first?

I've just had my first ever grocery delivery. It was from Ocado and the delivery man was lovely! Anyway, I got a free box of Tampax! Xmas Grin What's that all about? That's Saoirse's Christmas present sorted. Xmas Wink

suzie38 · 14/12/2011 20:06

PMSL @ Saoirse's present!!! I wouldn't have minded a free box as i've forgotten to buy some for 3 weeks now...What idiots re the Taga!!! Luckily my eBay settings won't let overseas buyers buying, tried changing it but no luck...Last overseas i did via Paypal only.

saoirse86 · 14/12/2011 20:37

I can hear you, you know aswell! But actually I need some tampons so can I have them early? Xmas Grin

Twinkle I had that with a pushchair before. He also said it was ok and he'd pay for a courier and offered £10 IIRC, maybe £15, for it! Xmas Shock Xmas Angry Maybe it's the same man, he was in Spain too! That's when I changed my buyer settings.

And your children are gorgeous and so alike. Your DD also has one of those faces where she looks so much older, and it feels like you can tell what she'll look like when she's all grown up!

BrassMonkeyBaubles · 14/12/2011 21:19

That is so annoying about the Taga...ask them when they would like to collect, you never know, they might!
Lol @ the grocery freebie....wonder who's missing a box from their delivery and a bit pmt ish!

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 14/12/2011 21:57

I asked him when he would like to collect as he requested the total cost (dead give away!) and I can't choose any option other than a postal one. They joined EBay today so have zero feedback (I could swear my settings don't allow thus but maybe it's just auctions?)

Lol re Saoirse's Chrstmas pressie! I can't believe Christmas is so near now! The in laws have just been round and DH is away. I am sat here now waiting for DD to be sick, bless her. She's got a cold and that results in her being sick once she's in bed :( :( At least I am prepared tonight. Last night we weren't.

It's funny you say my two are alike because I think they are quite different.we had 3D scans on both, and even then we knew they were different.the first thing the doctors asked post birth was whether DS was different to DD, but we already knew they would be. But they were fishing....

DD is very like me, DS is like his dad.

OP posts:
TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 14/12/2011 22:03

I was right... He's expecting shipping! I thought I was being mean leaving the blank to be filled in earlier, but it seems I was correct! How easy was that to spot at a 1000 paces? Time to start another dispute case for yet another non payer....

OP posts:
suzie38 · 14/12/2011 22:04

I also think they look like two peas in a pod Tiggy, well as much as a boy and girl can look alike!!!

misdee · 14/12/2011 22:07

they have the same eyes, the same smile. and they look like brother and sister.

a bit like these two look like sisters. www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150277368960938&l=f7d1f8f805

aswellasyou · 14/12/2011 22:12

Yes, Saoirse you can have them on Friday! Xmas Grin I'll even put some ribbon around them. I can't belive I let the cat out of the bag on the secret present. Xmas Wink

Monkey, it would be so much worse to not get them when you wanted them than to have free ones that you won't use. I hope I don't have a desperate neighbour running to the shop. Xmas Shock

Tiggy, were they trying to get you to diagnose him in a round about way? How weird. Xmas Hmm I think they look similar too, but it's different when they're your own. Everyone used to say my and Saoirse's daughters looked like twins but we really couldn't see it at all. But now when I look at photos of them together in the first few months, I see what they meant. My daughter had a cold last week and kept throwing up in bed because of it. She sleeps in my bed and most of the time she was also feeding, so I got covered in it quite a few times. I've only just finished all the washing she created!

aswellasyou · 14/12/2011 22:22

I want to join in showing photos of our girls too, but I need Saoirse to say I can. Saoirse? Xmas Smile

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 14/12/2011 22:46

Aww it would be lovely to see photos. I am really strange about photos. I dont mind me posting photos and sharing them (my two will be unrecognisable even in a few months time let alone in a few years time), but if anyone else posts photos of my children eg on Facebook then I am not happy! I could in theory pull the plug on any BB photo at any time.
Misdee, you can tell your two are sisters. They are very pretty.
Aswellasyou - yes I think they were trying to sow the seed to see if we thought anything was wrong with DS (which we didn't see). I think I have done four loads of washing today. Her pillow and Night Night Teddy No 1 are still soaked after being washed. Night Night Teddy No 2 got snuck out of stand by mode last night!! Do far so goo. DS was practically asleep 2 mins ago in the chair on my desk, so I lifted him out for a cuddle and he's having a party laughing his head off as I type! We have to somehow turn his rather way out routine round in the next few weeks! Until now its been fine for us all to be up all night, but not any more.

FriggFRIGGYPudding · 15/12/2011 00:28

Gay! I have just spent the best part of THREE FECKING HOURS tying to find a courier to ship the BJCCD....no one would accept it,it showed up as being mahosive on them all....and then I realised I was typing in the erect dimensions!!!

Ooh and today I went out with my mother,to a bigger town,I forgot the vista and my DM wouldn't go back to get it,DS fell asleep in the car and I ended up carring him, still asleep into the ONLY store that sold buggys, mamas and papas,to buy a buggy as he weighs a Ton!
Anyhow I was supposed tow buy the cheapest thing in there, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it....
so,I bought a Ziko Frankie in mushy pea and I'm ashamed to say.........

I actually quite like it Blush
