The latest Buggy Addicts thread :)

What a shame you got outbid :( I have a very lovely Air Buggy Mimi [wunk].

I haven't had the Strawberry although I would love one. We got a really good demo and there's photos of DD sitting in the seat on BB. It's a big seat.

I am looking forward to a really good look at POD in March (and the Versa and GT) Did I say the GT is due Feb / March now? We nearly imported a POD earlier this year.

Re the Yezz. I think it's terribly overpriced. The only people who really would benefit would be those living in London or travelling regularly. If you need a small occasional buggy then the Noa, Zapp or Petit Star Zia seem to all offer much more. It's a very niche market, but equally at £200 for the Yezz and that horrendous raincover (why blue??), it's way overpriced IMHO when you can get a Noa for a little over £100 with a raincover included, and a basket, and a tow handle. I want to see one though and have a look at whether it is as fragile and dangerous (poky bits) as it looks. I like being won over by a pushchair! The Noa really surprised me by being quite brilliant. But I would have paid £125 for it with raincover, tops.

Oh Frigg! Xmas Sad Have a glass of wine so we can enjoy your drunkenness to make yourself feel better. [fwunk]

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 13/12/2011 18:00

LOL! I am campaigning on your behalf (but I would prefer a Versa with GT wheels too!!) I bet it will be the 2013 variant though Hmm
Hey yes...lots of Friggy [wunk]ing tonight :o That sounds a bit rude doesn't it Xmas Blush!!!!!

Xmas Shock
TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 13/12/2011 18:11

Anyone reading this and doesn't know the history of this thread will think we are more nutty than we already are for owning copious amounts of pushchairs being rude - honestly we aren't!!!!!! But tonight has to be a perfect night for a Wine or Wine to celebrate Friggs birthday, and as you lot well know iPads have a mind of their own / type words and letters you never expected / omit vital words!!

Oh and I finally did put in a Gymboree order when I discovered that DD hardly had anything suitable for nursery and the tops she had new only a few weeks ago (aged 4T) are now too short!

OP posts:
suzie38 · 13/12/2011 18:30

I did another Gymboree order and waiting for it to arrive...Their clothes are rather small which i find strange given childhood obseity is worse in the USA than over here...DD actually wears 2T which is the correct age for once...Already got to list a 18-24 months matching outfit on eBay, even though she's only worn it 5 or 6 times...I love the look of that Latinique pushchair though it'd be better if it had 4 wheels...Reminds me a lot of the Go.

FriggFRIGGYPudding · 13/12/2011 18:41

Oooh I might have found anotherGrin

saoirse86 · 13/12/2011 18:48

FriggFRIGGYPudding · 13/12/2011 18:50

saoirse86 · 13/12/2011 18:59

FriggFRIGGYPudding · 13/12/2011 19:07

Thank you thank you thank you !!
I THINK. She's okay with me arranging a courier, but I'll have you on standby if that's okay?

aswellasyou · 13/12/2011 19:32

Saoirse, the one in Suffolk is a single. Frigg, she just wants to get to play with it herself. Xmas Wink

FriggFRIGGYPudding · 13/12/2011 19:59

Well of course Grin

Which one of you wanted the buggysnuggle? Did you still want it?

saoirse86 · 13/12/2011 20:01

Is it? Woopsie! Xmas Blush

Okie dokie, I will stand by and hope I get to play with it! Xmas Grin

saoirse86 · 13/12/2011 20:04

Oh that was me but I ended up buying one on ebay. I'm hoping it'll arrive tomorrow and that it's long enough.
Does anyone else get fed up with how tiny most footmuffs are? I mean the Oyster one is supposed to be used on the seat from 6 months, but my (pretty short) DD has pretty much outgrown it at 15 months. Xmas Angry

PresentsRibbonsAndMerrySantas · 13/12/2011 20:08

dd is out growing all her footmuffs, but i now own a footmuff that fits ds Xmas Shock it came with the p&t kiwi so don't know how old it is though, but it looks new, i am going to put it on the pushchair for dd.

FriggFRIGGYPudding · 13/12/2011 20:11

I'm going to try the silicone spray on the vista,I REALLY hope it works,I still need to return the piggyback [useless emoticon]

I managed to leave the rumble as DP took it off when he was getting DS to sleep so he could be RF,and put it. Next to the coats, when we left I was carring DDand grabbed the coats,I asked DP to grab the buggy,so,he thought I'd get the rumble as it was near the coats and I thought he would as it was part of the buggy Confused

I'm pretty certain I'll like the BJCC and that DD will fit okay as my friend has the single version-it's great, and her tall and sturdy 3.7yr old still fits nicely....

PresentsRibbonsAndMerrySantas · 14/12/2011 09:50

oh, looks like i will have to import a pod next year, babyjogger have said there is talk of it being considered for the uk market, but its still in the very early stages of being tested, so they don't have a date. i will need it before the summer Xmas Sad

BrassMonkeyBaubles · 14/12/2011 11:47

What has been your best all round pushchair and why? Uppababy Vista, combination of good practical design and excellent light manoeuvrability, most ergonomically supportive seating for child and large enough for a 5y old!
Which has been your worst and why? Maclaren triumph. Awful simple wheels without bearings make for a hard and squeaky push. I wanted to love it but couldn't. Maclaren if you're reading this please upgrade to decent wheels with bearings and better tyres.
Which pushchair have you been sad to see go? maybe the bugaboos they were poor value for money due to quality issues despite the design being good they were the least durable pushchairs I ever tried. Quite shocking given their popularity.
Which have you used most to walk with? Uppababy Vista
Which was perfect for a day trip? Uppababy Vista or BJ Summit depending on outing type. Summit better for beach and off road
Which pushchair would have gone offroad / to the beach? BJ Summit
Which pushchair usually lives in your car boot (or you reach for first to put in the car?) don't drive so just load in most practical pram for planned outing
Which pushchair is best for public transport? BJ City Mini
Which has the biggest basket? uppababy vista
Which did you like to push the best? Uppababy vista
Which did your DC like the best? Uppababy vista because he can face me!
Any other notable pushchairs or comments? Baby joggers are also fab ESP the genius bag that clips on the side....I might get an easywalker before this year is over too. Or a micralite.

BrassMonkeyBaubles · 14/12/2011 11:57

Tiggy you must be relieved that your ds doesn't need an eye op! Great news! X

Do you know When the new baby jogger summits coming to the uk?
Do we know when the easywalker June will be available?

Tiggy, could your dd lay down in the easywalker qtro without her head being squashed? (am asking as both the qtro and sky are said to be the same size...wondering if my ds would have some growing room in one?)

Also did your tester or yourself try bumping it up or down steps or stairs? If so was it ok and did the frame withstand this without "waggling" at the fold joint?

I'm considering getting one and selling both my baby joggers!!! I'm also wondering how I'll manage on a bus...but they do seem to fold small...

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 14/12/2011 12:54

Lol, I don't know everything! The Easywalker all black isn't coming to the UK though :( The June is due out the end of Feb / beginning of March according to Easywalker. When we get it, I don't know.
The problem with the Qtro, and I am sure it's the same with the Sky, is that unlike the Baby Joggers, the back is open. So as the child grows their head starts to hang over the back. I am sure DDs head is already overhanging when sat upright. I will try to dig the Qtro out and see how she is laid down later. I havent bumped the Qtro down lots of steps - just the odd one and it seemed fine. But don't quote me on that because I tend to notice the bendy pushchairs or those with crumpling front wheels on steps, more than those that don't have any issue. Easywalkers are sturdy beasties though. Really well built.
The Easywalker fold seems long and relatively big to me. The Elite looks much neater. But the Elite nor City Mini stand well whereas I think the Easywalker freestands or certainly props up nicely (it's stood on it's end at present, but may well be leaning, I will have a look in a bit), whereas the Elite slides all over the place on it's end. But the Sky being a 3 wheeler is likely o ave that issue too.

Good answers BTW. I think we all use different pushchairs for different purposes.

The ABC left this morning. It's one I have felt sad to see go and pondered if I had made the right decision. But we simply don't have space for it, the Twingo and +One; and the ABC just doesn't fold nicely. The Senzz goes in a bit :) Oh and if it's helpful to anyone in future, the courier who picked up earlier didn't need a box. They wrap things up in blankets. But they said they would ship the Taga to anywhere across the centre of the UK, including Birmingham and London for circa £50. It cost me more to get the Croozer shipped. So that was good news for us because shipping the Taga has been a huge hurdle.

POD was on the list to come to the UK, but it was shown at Harrogate last year but never came. I will keep asking about it :)
