The latest Buggy Addicts thread :)

OP posts:

This is assuming it stays of course.

Clarabumps · 30/01/2012 16:23

sorry to hijack the thread briefly but I am a bit of a pram addict(not to the same extent as you all as I don't have an understanding DP) Anyway I've not needed a pram in two years but I'm expecting again. So what one should I get?
Shortlist is
Uppababy Vista- don't know about the colours though and so far can't see any negatives with it(anyone hate it?)
Bugaboo Chameleon-expensive but don't mind if its good.
Maxi Cosi Mura- cheaper but looks quite big
Icandy..dazzled by all the different types and have no clue.
I have quite long babies so need a long carrycot and also want a pushchair bit that faces me.
Any advice is very much appreciated. TIA

OnePramWoman · 30/01/2012 16:40

out of your list i would get an uppababy vista very well loved on here, several of us own one Smile or the other that tiggy loves is the icandy peach, the mura is apparently huge folded but lovely seat and the bugaboo cam although lovely, the vista is way way better

OnePramWoman · 30/01/2012 16:42

the vista is much much cheaper than the icandy peach though and comes with carrycot in with the price, where as the icandy peach the carrycot is extra which makes it much more expensive Smile

HypatiaTheProcrastinator · 30/01/2012 17:00

I don't think most on here have understanding partners! :o I don't have a partner so I can have as many as I can squash in my one bedroom flat. Wink

I would say the Vista too unless it needs to be narrow for public transport or something. It's 63cm wide which isn't huge, but bot exactly narrow either. The Cam and Peach are both 60cm wide, lovely to push etc., but fold in two pieces. The Mura would be too big and heavy for my liking, but is apparently very nice to push and as OnePram says, has a lovely supportive seat.

Tiggywunkle · 30/01/2012 18:16

I can't fault the Vista - really great value for money. Loads of features. The car seat adaptors and carrycot are all included. The carrycot is beautiful. Big seat. Huge basket. Built in sunshade. Good recline.
But I prefer my chunky shiny Peach - the spec isn't quite as good - but the quality is better. It costs more over all because you have to buy the parts seperately. But it just looks and feels brilliant to use and push. And yes its a two piece fold. But if you are interested in a one piece fold then there is not much difference between the Peach and Strawberry all round.
The Cameleon - a lovely pushchair. Top of the range like the other two. I loved my Cameleon and hanker after another but I think its nostalgia because I know the Peach is better really - easier, sturdier, better basket etc. and if the Peach is better then the Vista is definitely better.
The Mura - I love the seat of the Mura but the fold is so chunky - the seat is like carrying a second stage car seat around and the chassis isn't much better. If you leave a pushchair up then the Mura is definitely putting the child first. It feels fab to push too. But the basket access is really poor. I honestly would leave this one - I DO think the seat is second to none though.

I have to say, I think out of the Peach, Strawberry, Vista and Cameleon it is down to which you prefer. All are very good top of the range pushchairs. All would serve you well.

aswell the lower footmuff is pretty short. I doubt your DD will fit in it, and if she does it won't be for long so I think it should be sold. Can't we use the kaiser ones for now?

Tiggywunkle · 19/02/2012 22:17

What on earth were you doing Hypatia???

I just wanted to say a HUGE congratulations to our fellow buggy addict on here ihateparties who had a baby girlie this morning at home :))))

ItsMyLastOne · 22/02/2012 13:07

Thanks Brew Biscuit

fairimum · 23/02/2012 09:41

hmmmm was looking for a stroller for holiday and thought i remembered you all raving about a maxi cosi but the noa only goes to 15kg and DD is prob nearly 16-17kg - bummer :( any other thoughts need it asap! lol

Tiggywunkle · 23/02/2012 11:57

Just get a Noa :) Al pushchairs are tested to one and a half times the weight given. My DD is 17 and a half Kgs and she's fine in it. Failing that, a B-Agile or BJCM.

fairimum · 23/02/2012 13:07

ooooo..... so the Noa might be ok? is it really a good as it sounds? how small does it fold compared to say a zapp? :)

ItsMyLastOne · 25/02/2012 10:20

I have the zapp and the Noa, both with the same type of Quinny footmuff and the Zapp definitely folds smaller and neater, but there are so many more positives about the Noa (ie recline, comes with a shopping basket, has 4 wheels so more stable, has an autolock when folded, one hand fold/unfold, the pull handle when it's folded). I'd definitely go for the Noa if I were you! Smile

Tiggywunkle · 25/02/2012 17:05

I agree. The Zapp is a tad smaller and feels more sturdy but the Noa has more features: the recline, pull along handle, zip recline, freestands, better hood, one hand easy peasy fold / unfold, bouncy suspension feel to the seat, freestands, pocket, basket, better seat unit etc etc. I much prefer the Noa.

ItsMyLastOne · 25/02/2012 22:31

I'd sell the zapp at any point if it wasn't for my shallow DP who wants to keep it because he likes the colour! Hmm

Ihateparties · 26/02/2012 19:23

I never thought to look on here... thanks everyone Grin

I wouldn't get a b agile for hols, it's a bit overly bulky for my liking, def get a noa for that sort of thing.

Soooooo anyone seen anything new and exciting they'd like to share?! I have a feeling I've missed info on the June somewhere along the line...

Tiggywunkle · 26/02/2012 20:18

Oh hello Mummy-of-three! :) That's more years of buggy buying ahead of you ;)
How is the latest addition?
The June - Easywalker added more information to their website the other day along with the colours - blue, black and off white, with several more colours for liners. I saw quite a late date for it though...I think it is due around May (I can't remember if it was late April to May or late May to June.) I remember thinking its much later than I was expecting.
The Graco you liked is due out any day.
Have you seen the new Bugaboo Special edition and the proposed Babystyle Oyster special editions?

pramsgalore · 22/03/2012 14:22
