PresentsRibbonsAndMerrySantas · 09/12/2011 20:39

do you know what the really sad thing is, i am tracking a parcel from Arizona, United States. and its not a pushchair, instead its a pair of toy story jessie cow girl boots to replace dd2 much loved and now too small ones Xmas Sad

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 09/12/2011 20:59

Lol, she just has one shape sorter with odd shapes in which she just happens to know!

Aww re buying replacement boots from the US. I am sat here trying to draw our emergency Christmas cards as the ones we have ordered have failed to turn up despite chasing them. I need to get them printed yet!!!

Xmas Grin ours get 'yes a square, an oblong, a triangle, an oval, a circle and oh thats a pretty shape' Xmas Grin

saoirse86 · 09/12/2011 21:27

That's hilarious Twinkle! My dad keeps asking me why DD can't yet count to 10! Xmas Hmm

Twinkle I was just lusting looking at your info for the Versa and I think the folded dimensions without wheels are either wrong or in inches rather than cm's.

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 09/12/2011 21:38

Yes, sorry! Thanks for pointing that out. Confused The pages are in the wrong order too. Sometimes when I add a new page it puts the pages out of order which means they can't be used in the comparison tool. I will fix both of those later. Thanks :)
I wish I could take the credit for a lot of what DD knows but she picks tons up from the iPad. She floored us the other day by going "3 and 4...thirty four!!" Eeep!

She's a genius! Xmas GrinXmas Shock My daughter's not very advanced! But she looks like a = month old baby so people always think she's clever. Xmas Wink

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 09/12/2011 21:41

Oh and I did her Portable North Pole video tonight and she has just watched it! I love when DD sees her own photos on screen and realises Santa is 'seriously' talking to her!!! We did one for DS too. Brilliant :) If you have a disbelieving child, (or any child), do go and make a message for them :)

OP posts:
aswellasyou · 09/12/2011 21:42

= was supposed to 9. Apparently Mummy's not very advanced either. Xmas Blush

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 09/12/2011 21:43

My two couldn't be at any more at the opposite spectrum. DD was crawling at 6 months and walking at 9. DS is 16 months and just crawling (but then he has good reasons) :)

Lolol you are doing better than me. I want an iPad that actually knows what I am saying instead of making up words - better still one that can type what I am thinking because I think twenty times faster than my one finger can type!!

PresentsRibbonsAndMerrySantas · 09/12/2011 21:51

and if you have none believers look at under the 'about norad' its very good Xmas Wink

aswellasyou · 09/12/2011 22:11

Mine was crawling backwards at 5 months and forwards at 7. She first sat unaided at 13 weeks, but was wobbly until 5 months. She never lost the walking instinct babies are born with and was pulling herself up to standing at 7 months. She was pretty quick at learning things, but she's just stopped! She's spent 6 months learning to stand unaided and is getting fairly good at it now.

But she's happy! Xmas Grin And it doesn't bother me one bit, but my grandparents are constantly asking me if she's walking yet. It doesn't help that Saoirse's daughter started walking and talking at 10 months show off. Xmas Grin

saoirse86 · 09/12/2011 22:14

She is a show off! Xmas Grin

suzie38 · 09/12/2011 22:24

My DD is 2.7 and still not talking.

PresentsRibbonsAndMerrySantas · 09/12/2011 22:38

all the dd's were just over one when they walked, but ds was 18 months and by 3 years old still could not say mummy, but he is very very good on the pc and with gadgets Xmas Grin

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 09/12/2011 23:17

Do you sign, Suzie? It's brilliant for non verbal children.

Christmas cards are painted now. Phew! They need to dry and have more done tomorrow.

OP posts:
suzie38 · 10/12/2011 08:23

We watch Something Special but she's not interested in doing signs except the Mr Tumble one!!! She has 100% understanding of other people talking...I can understand her gestures and also can mind read her...We went to the first SLT session on Tuesday and they're going to offer her a few sessions at home but no idea when...They're sending a written report so there maybe more details in that...Hopefully she'll start talking a bit more when she goes to playgroup in January 2 mornings a week because obviously i won't be there to translate for her...I know many children do come on in leaps and bounds in education settings.

saoirse86 · 10/12/2011 10:36

suzie I've heard of lots of non-verbal or not-particularly-verbal children talking in other environments like nursery because they have to. She might be absolutely fine!

I think my dd is one of those who will drive everyone mental with the incessant chatting and be putting on performances and making other children in the family be the tree and the wall because she has to be the princess! Xmas Grin Xmas Wink

saoirse86 · 10/12/2011 11:15

I've been looking at pushchairs for an MN friend (see my thread) and it looks like she might have to get a courier. Which companies are cheapest for very heavy and big pushchairs? I'm looking and can only find them for about £70! Xmas Shock

suzie38 · 10/12/2011 20:06

Onto my third big car seat now...Started with a Britax First Class but found it rather unuser friendly...Currently using a Maxi Cosi Opal which is fab but pink was the wrong color in hindsight!!! Now bought a Britax Two Way Elite extended rear facer...DD can rear face to 25kg, which she should reach around 8 years old...Mind you sure she'll want turning around before then plus it can be used as a booster with the car seat belt so it's quite versatile...I'd planned on turning the Opal around at 13kg, February time but i can't face doing it now, the thought made me cry Xmas Sad

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 10/12/2011 20:23

I use Parcel Monkey now which are fine for say a double pushchair but the only people who would take the Croozer were Night Freight via Parcel2Go.

Hugs Suzie, you may feel different by then. I have to take the five point harness off DD at any time now but am delaying it. It's going to be a complete PITA to do the seatbelt up each time as I can't get into the rear and the two car seats are very close together.

OP posts:
saoirse86 · 10/12/2011 21:24

I have a maxi cosi mobi which rear faces to 25kg (when dd is about 6 1/2 by her current centile) and we love it so far. She seems to have plenty of room for legs and body to grow. DP's car is a sporty type 3 door thingamajig and we have a kiddy guardian pro in there to make life easier getting dd in and out. It says you can remove the impact shield at 15kg (when dd will be about 2.9 if she stays around the same centile) but I don't know if you have to remove it then iyswim. I must find out.
