Is that the same issue / date that someone here's child fell out of and had the nasty bump on the head? Was it Truth or Monkeys? Has there not been a UK recall? Is this different to the wheel issue?

OP posts:
suzie38 · 28/12/2011 10:18

Seems to be identical issue with front wheels jamming...Think it was Truths LO that fell out.

BrassMonkeyBaubles · 28/12/2011 10:25

I did have the wheel shimmy issue. My child didn't fall out though. I stopped using it and my issue wasn't as severe as some other people had. Bugaboo were not helpful either. Mine would've been one of the earlier bugaboo bee plus models. I sold it on with the promise to assist with any warranty issues, (as warranty not transferable).

PresentsRibbonsAndMerrySantas · 28/12/2011 11:57

it was honeydragon i think

aswellasyou · 28/12/2011 13:16

Yes, I'm pretty sure it was Honey.

Twinkle we were having a nose in JL yesterday and the peach seats just look so small. We were thinking that maybe one day we could get one. The seats did have the inserts in when we were looking so obviously looked smaller but the whole frame just seems small. How does your dd feel in it? Is she happy and comfy? And would you put two 2yo's in one? Would we really need the new blossom kit if we did get one in a few months?

aswellasyou · 29/12/2011 14:17

Saoirse, stop being naughty! We can't afford it, especially buying a new blossom kit.

saoirse86 · 29/12/2011 14:27

Shhhhhh aswell! Twinkle don't listen to her! Anyway in the next few months aswell will finish her degree and get a job earning at least £6,000 £30,000 so then we'll be able to afford it!

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 29/12/2011 22:21

Ok, everyone thinks the Peach seats seem small. But measurement wise they aren't bad at all. The seat back is one of the tallest I know of. Plus the hood slides up the chassis frame and then you can unzip the hood to allow for even more growth - the hood just kerps growing! The leg rest moves down to give more leg room. As you will have seen on Best Buggy my now 3.2 year old still fits in the seat great and she's not small! At present she's got a thick fur buggy snuggle over the seat liner as well! Removing the seat liner does give a few extra cms in each direction but as yet my DD is ine with it in. You would certainly need the new Blossom kit with two 2 year olds as the current kit has a) a much smaller lower seat with b) a fixed footrest and c) it only has two recline positions ie no upright. I am currently pushing two heavy children - my 3.2 year old and my 17 month old - the eldest is almost 17kgs and I bet the LO is at least 13kgs. Your two are teeny in comparison to my two! One other thing to bear in mind is that over the years the straps have been lengthened and early showroom models may have the shorter straps. Mine are perfect ie not too large or short. The Peach really is extremely hard to beat as a single, and the new Blossom kit will make it into a superb tandem. I love mine.

I'm sold! Just got to convince aswell! Although, by that time I might be pg again and can buy my own peach! [fwunk]

saoirse86 · 30/12/2011 15:20

Does anyone know if it's possible to get scratches out of a chrome chassis? I had bad scratches on my black chassis oyster and thought I was genius when I decided to use black marker on them. But it wasn't as good as I thought it'd be. Xmas Sad So ideas for a black chassis much appreciated too!

PresentsRibbonsAndMerrySantas · 30/12/2011 15:45

i have tried to colour things in with black marker pen, the pen ends up looking not black, is it a shiny black, you could try black nail polish if it is

saoirse86 · 30/12/2011 16:26

It's not that shiny. I might just have to get over it! Xmas Grin

aswellasyou · 02/01/2012 21:42

You're all talking elsewhere too much and I can't keep up!

I'm still looking at the Mutsy 4Rider and Jané Rider. Today I saw a Jané Trider, Nuna Pepp and Micralite Superlite Classic and liked them all. I had to run away from my Mum to act nonchalant next to the Trider. I couldn't believe how much they'd managed to get into the Trider basket, including putting a bag on top of the basket. I now want them all! And the Mutsy. Wink

Misdee, what did you think of the Mutsy 4Rider lights you had?

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 03/01/2012 11:38

I looked at a Trider the other day but the basket seemed quite small. Is it flexible? It seems lovely to push but the basket size put me off.

Aswell are you about to spend your student loan on pushchairs?!

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 03/01/2012 12:35

Lol sounds more like she's borrowing her sisters credit card [wunk]!

OP posts:
BrassMonkeyBaubles · 03/01/2012 13:40

Oooh, does the micralite classic have any mesh in the seat? The original classic did. I was hoping the micralite seat was all canvas on the new classic.

aswellasyou · 03/01/2012 14:40

It didn't look like it had any mesh. It was completely black.

The Trider had things stuck in sticking up and then had a bag on top. Did you see a Rider as well as a Trider? The Rider's basket looks a lot bigger.

I'm only going to spend £500 on my 3 new imaginary pushchairs.

saoirse86 · 03/01/2012 14:46

Only £500? Pay your rent first!

I'm thinking I might buy a reusable bag to put on the basket part of the seed pli. They do their own but they're really expensive, and I can't find any anyway!

Monkey what did you use? It is you who had one isn't it?

fairimum · 03/01/2012 18:51

I emailed uppababy about uk rumble seat expected date and any differences and got following reply:

Thank you for your e-mail. The UK Rumble seat has finally been produced and will be in stores in February. It's the one UPPAbaby product that we have had some issues with to meet EU standards as they are significantly different to the USA standards applicable to this product.

The differences are in the position of the seat base (it sits on the front cross bar) and the angle of the backrest. The retail price is £99.99

annoyingly 2 mins before this arrived I won a brand new one from ebay.com that is cost £70 delivered - oh well will have to see if fancy changing it when /if have another baby :)

suzie38 · 03/01/2012 18:59

The angle bit seems good as i'm guessing it's more reclined and Tiggy's issue was how upright it was.

fairimum · 03/01/2012 19:05

yes, ideally i would wait but there are several outings i need to do where the 2nd seat would be a lifesaver - oh well - if we decide not to ahve a 3rd then the us one won't be a problem at all, for what we need!

aswellasyou · 03/01/2012 19:41

That's really interesting about the angle being different. It'll probably leave a bit more room between the seats if the UK Rumble Seat is going to be over the cross bar.

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 03/01/2012 19:59

Pooh that's interesting. The seat angle is good because the US one is far too upright for any child to nap. So that could solve the biggest issue.
