I was just looking for the contours options pictures and saw the contours lite strollers for about £55 and £65 depending on colour. I was starting to think they're worth a punt at that price! Xmas Grin

aswellasyou · 17/12/2011 22:36

They've been on for ages at that price. You could have one of those for walking instead of the one you just bought. I keep looking at Mutsy 4 Rider Lights after the thread the other day about 4 wheel off roaders.

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 17/12/2011 22:41

Is it an O'Baby Zoom? They come in red and black and are like the City Select / Contours in many ways.

If it is, then I have tried two retailers to buy ine from, and both in a friendly way refused to sell me one because they have no end of bother with them and repairs are exoensive. I think...you only get a short warranty too. I gave up trying after the second retailer told me the same as the first!

I have to say I have no idea what to get next....it's a while until the GT or June arrives...

I obviously don't spend as much time looking at pushchairs as you do aswell!

Twinkle yes that's the one. That's such a shame because it looked nice IRL and on paper it looks great. Xmas Sad

The carrera was a surprisingly good push. It felt easily manoeuvrable and the suspension was very effective and the suspension mechanisms are quite unusual something like they use on the front wheel on the BJ....but not identical.
The quality of components is just fantastic compared to say a maclaren.
The carrera folds really small...but it is a big pushchair when unfolded...well, full size, not teeny like an umbrella stroller. It's not all that light either. Around 8 or 9 kg I think.
I think the basket beneath is clever. You could leave some things in the basket when folded if you needed as it hangs below the folded frame. The inner drawstring bag in the carrera basket can also be unpoppered from the mesh outer basket and removed for bringing loose items say groceries to the kitchen for unpacking. I thought this was a clever little detail.
It did push nicely and like I said the wheels and suspension were all very well made. With bearings too I believe!

Thanks for that info Monkeys i'll give a Solo Reverse some thought as i really want the option to rear face though i generally only use it in bad weather.

Found this review and it fitted ok in her Ka boot which i know is tiny.

I know Aswellas, I really would like to try a Zoom because on paper it seems very good. But when you get up close it's not great. I think there are rivet heads all over the outside. Its a while since I saw one and I remember hubby pointing out some things that weren't very good. I trusted both the retailers opinions!

I dreamt I had a mountain buggy last night and it was fab! Xmas Hmm
still looking at easywalker descriptions and hoping I chose right.
Ive tracked my parcel and its currently in amsterdam. Should I stick a bow in the box and open it xmas day?

BrassMonkeyBaubles · 18/12/2011 12:03

Pondering what the likelihood is that H will dispute that it's a gift from santa in front if the children? Naturally I haven't discussed the purchase beforehand...Xmas Grin

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 18/12/2011 17:38

Yes, wrap it up and open it on Christmas Day :o

(pouts) I am not doing Ebay auctions again :(

Why's that Tiggy???

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 18/12/2011 20:17

I felt fairly confident about an auction, had almost 60 watchers but it was a struggle and someone has a bargain. Ho hum. But thats the way it goes....I made a profit this week so I can't really grumble too much.

OP posts:
aswellasyou · 18/12/2011 20:57

I've just seen that and I can't believe how cheaply it sold! Xmas ShockXmas Sad I thought it would make nearly twice that. I guess it was because it's the week before Christmas.

Monkey, I love your plan! Xmas Grin

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 18/12/2011 21:00

I hoped for £40 or so more but that's life. Shoot me if I ever ponder whether to do an auction in future!

OP posts:
aswellasyou · 18/12/2011 21:10

OK! Xmas Grin

saoirse86 · 18/12/2011 22:28

Oh no Twinkle! Xmas Shock Xmas Sad That's just so cheap, I wish i'd had the money for it, but then I guess many are in the same situation a week before Christmas. There were a few pushchairs I was watching that went for a song this weekend, just not to me! Xmas Envy

BrassMonkeyBaubles · 19/12/2011 10:27

My Easywalker has arrived already....even though tracking thought it was still in Amsterdam at 8am....unless I was supposed to check the uk dpd website or something....anyhow, not sure I can wait a week! The box is not too heavy either...so that's good, it's obviously lightweight as promised.

suzie38 · 19/12/2011 10:42

Ohhh...I'd open it!!! Let us know how it compares to other pushchairs...I'd love a Qtro version though a shame it doesn't rear face.

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 19/12/2011 11:28

Lol open it :o There's time to order another pushchair before Christmas.

Tiggy i found the Indie box in the loft yesterday!!!

SparklyGothKat · 19/12/2011 13:11

Joining you all again after about 2 years away. I'm 12 weeks pregnant and really want a frog or gecko (cam out of my budget unless I get a bargain) I currently have a mb for bean but I want a rearfacer. But I dare not sell mb until I have a rearfacer in the house.
