What's an innotab? We haven't had our iPad long...it was a prize at my husbands work for sales...we think it's awesome! Very useful.

My kids would all love one but sadly were not rich enough for iPads x 4!!! Unless all eBay stock sells....but then if that happens we will all get passports and take a holiday!

I would rather put the money to getting an iPad to be honest. The programs etc for the Innotab etc seem expensive compared to the free iPad or couple of pound ones. Ours gets used, dropped, carried all over the house, all day long by us all. It's especially fab for the baby and he loves it.

you can get free apps and down load films etc, but to be honest its for dd4 and no way would i give her an ipad, she deletes things off the ipods,

Ah,well you can get games via the pc for around 3-4 quid,so that's not too bad,but tbh she'll most likely use the paint studio most...
there's no way we could give the DC an iPad! Although DD will want one I'm sure
Prams,I've only just got one because we originally bought her a mobigo,thinking iitq would be 'good enough' but when I got an iPad we realised the mobigo wasn't going to go down well,the screen is small and it has buttons that she wouldn't understand,we both have iPhones too so she's used to playing games on the touchscreen,so we are returning it. Luckily John Lewis had some stock in today!

frigg, thats great, we have not tried ours yet, as its for xmas. but the reviews are great, i need dp to work out how to down load films, we buy the dvds that come with a digital copy as well if we, can so we can download them onto the pc and then on to the ipods.

Those new iPod touch things look excellent value for money. I wish I had an iPhone 4s....I have a HTC wildfire instead.

So that is what the film with digital copy thing is all about! I haven't tried any films on the iPad but I would like to. I'm in awe that you can get them via iTunes too! It's just so easy!

iPod touch pretty much like a mini iPad? Bet you can get I player on it, plus films, apps etc?

We're very old fashioned in our house...Old style mobile phones and a laptop with a regular internet connection...I don't trust wi-fi no matter how much the Virgin man tried to persuade me to try out an amazing wi fi router, a couple of weeks ago...So no ipads, ipods, iphones here!!! I go on the internet too much as it is without tempting me even more.

yes, just asked dp as he does all of this, he said its a free code you get for itunes etc, all i know is when ever i buy a dvd i have to look for if the blueray copy has the triple play blueray/dvd/digital copy along the top if it has this is the one i have to buy, i just follow instructions

DS has a Fisher Price iPod case on the way from Santa Claus :)

There's more to iPods / iPads than WiFi Suzie. You plug them in with a regular cable and download from your PC if you prefer. Don't let it stop you considering one because they are amazing educational tools. My DD has learnt sooo much from ours.
