Thank you so much Frigg - it seems like a lot of the HMS/EDS types have blue sclera but no cohesive reasoning behind it. Shame we can't get House on the case Wink

FriggsFlyingFalconFeathers · 29/11/2011 20:25

Grinive thought that many times!

thisisyesterday · 29/11/2011 20:56

truth, might be worth a trip to the optician, just to put your mind at rest?

btw, does it help you at all if i bring the wayfarer round to you?

TruthSweet · 29/11/2011 21:05

That would be fab! Would £30 for the Wayfarer and boots be ok?

TruthSweet · 29/11/2011 21:07

And I think I will take DD2 to opticians. Do your boys go to one as I don't know what the ones in town are like (DD1 has her eyes checked at hospital but DD2 isn't old enough yet).

TruthSweet · 29/11/2011 21:12

As I'm getting TIY's Wayfarer I'm giving my Peg Perego to HomeStart for a family in need. No point selling it as there's no market for it but it's a lovely pushchair with lots of life in it yet so a real shame to tip it.

I can't wait to use the Wayfarer....

thisisyesterday · 29/11/2011 21:14

£25 is fine! i only paid £20 for the wayfarer, so happy to pass it on for the same price.

TruthSweet · 29/11/2011 21:15

I was think of fuel costs but if you're sure?

What have you got left in your collection now?

thisisyesterday · 29/11/2011 21:16

when we had DS1's eyes done we took him to Batemans (near Lloyds) It's been taken over by Vision Express but afaik the same people still work there.
Ms Boston is lovely!
DS1 had his eyes done before he started school, so he'd have been 4 and a little bit and it was fine.

I took the wayfarer out to Horsham the other day for a final trip out Sad DS3 refused to go in it at all, until I bribed him with crisps! shame as it's such a lovely pushchair, but at least I know it'll have some use with you :)

thisisyesterday · 29/11/2011 21:21

no don't be silly it's only just down the road!

I am being ruthless with my pushchairs now.

am only going to keep the big pram (just in case a 4th baby appears from nowhere!)
the i'coo and my brand new volo!

I still haven't taken the aria over to the Oasis place, must do that on thursday. and will advertise the bebecar and the bjcmicro on ebay i think, and on FB. although my friend mel was interested in the bebecar so might see if she wants to take it now as I have too many in my sitting room

TruthSweet · 29/11/2011 21:24

DD2 just doesn't want to walk at the moment. I had to pretty much drag her out of bed this morning and she went on the school run with no shoes or coat on (bundled up with a blanket though) so my optimistic hope she might be out of a pushchair soon seems to have fallen through.

On the plus side DD3 goes to sleep so easily in the Easylife - she just drifts off to sleep in it and it is fab for long walks and shopping trips. Not so fab for nifty steering still need to oil the darn thing!

suzie38 · 29/11/2011 21:26

This came up on a BB of mine, and a mum was worried about brittle bones in relation to blue sclera but since the DD hadn't suffered any fractures by 2.6 years, i think it's just one of those things...It was the dentist that brought it up...I was slightly concerned my DD possibly has Russell-Silver syndrome and feel a bit silly bringing up such a random thing at the doctors because i know they hate people googling!!! But she definetely has a number of symptoms.

suzie38 · 29/11/2011 21:29

I'd love one of those Peg Perego's...The M&P's version have fixed back wheels.

TruthSweet · 29/11/2011 21:29

Ooh - I didn't know you got a Volo. Which one did you get? Have a word with OH will you as it'd be a shame not to use the big pram again - it is lovely. Wink

Would your friend that wanted the Jazz want the Buggypod as well? I seem to remember you saying she had a little one too (or I could be confused?)

TruthSweet · 29/11/2011 21:31

If you are anywhere near W. Sussex you can have it!

suzie38 · 29/11/2011 21:32

Sorry i'm miles away in Notts Sad I wish we all lived on a tiny island!!!

thisisyesterday · 29/11/2011 21:36

post it!

TruthSweet · 29/11/2011 21:37

TIY and I were joking about hiring a garage from the council and having a pushchair stable so we could pick and choose to suit our mood (and a library of slings too I think?).

PresentsRibbonsAndMerrySantas · 29/11/2011 21:38

suzie, i am the same, i suspect dd may have asd, but because she is so different to ds, i feel stupid going to the docs, but she does show signs, toe walking, the strange things she does, ie panting like a dog when you smile at her, the disliking people turning head away, eye contact etc. i am going to bite the bullet though, but i am sure the doc will be fine and put my mind at ease, as i am sure yours will, i took dd for excessive drinking and he sent her for test all came back fine, take her if you are worried he won't mind.

thisisyesterday · 29/11/2011 21:40

she might be TS. I have passed on your number. I bumped into her the other day actually and she apologised for not getting in touch, she's been having a really rough time of it which I won't go into on here but suffice to say she's had other stuff on her mind!

If you don't hear from her though please do offer it to someone else

thisisyesterday · 29/11/2011 21:43

oh and i got a sedona stripe volo.
it was a toss up between that and the silver cross fizz, but the volo had 20% off in Boots plus extra points so I did that .
i still feel slightly weird paying so much for such a basic buggy though!

thisisyesterday · 29/11/2011 21:45

prams ds1 is being assessed atm for asd (in fact the paed said that in her opinion he does have it and to treat as if he does, even tho no official diagnosis yet)
but I was the same as you and kept thinking it was something and then nothing.
took me well over a year to actually make up my mind to go to the GP and she was really lovely and referred him straight away.

i just went in and said "basically, I think he has Asperger's, and here is a big list of reasons why I think it"

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 29/11/2011 21:46

Lol re having a garage. DH keeps joking we need a garage with plinths or pushchairs. I think a pushchair rental / library business would be a great service for parents trying to make a decision.

PresentsRibbonsAndMerrySantas · 29/11/2011 21:51

my ds has asd he is just below the middle line [it was explained to me if there was a line draw a line accross halfway down ds is just under this] so top of the bottom half, if dd does have asd i suspect she will be higher up the scale, so i do look at her and think no, then well yes, then well no, i need to stop comparing her to ds who is autistic and think maybe she may have aspergers.

suzie38 · 29/11/2011 21:53

Mind you i suspect i have Aspergers, and my mum thinks my dad has it...Someone on my BB elsewhere, took an online test via the 'Embarrassing Bodies' website...She scored high so saw a pyscharist, who sent her to a pyschologist who diagnosed her with Aspergers but she lives in South Africa so no idea how their health care system works compared to ours...I took same test and scored 2 points lower than her...Having DD has brought out the worst of the symptoms in m, before they were kind of hidden and below the surface and i could supress them but i can't no longer.
