New thread for buggy collectors! Grin

OP posts:
sillyworriedmama · 06/09/2011 21:18

hehe I am also bidding on a snunkie, and have just ordered some covers and a liner for my Cherry. I am trying to imagine what accessories I can pop on it to keep DS snuggly this winter. I don't think of my current ones will... might have to shop around!!

Tiggywunkle · 06/09/2011 21:31

Go and buy it! I like it when people buy new pushchairs :)
Today has been so wintery here. Definitely cosy toes time :)

TruthSweet · 06/09/2011 21:35

Silly - I'm bidding on that one. I've now had the bright idea I can bungee cord it to DD2's SN pushchair so I can leave the SN one at Playschool and take DD3 to the shops. Plus should be able to fit both in DH's boot!

TruthSweet · 06/09/2011 22:19

Gah! Lost out Sad back to the search

sillyworriedmama · 06/09/2011 22:22

haha did you win it Truth? I was outbid - but it's ok, I really don't have the room. Although I was very tempted! I need a whole garage and I only have a one bed flat! I was going to 'give' it to my mum for her house. I am going mad for accessories for winter now, I want a burnt orange cord snunkie cosytoes with animal print inner. How do you get in the bloody queue for one though?? I can't seem to ever get a place :(

sillyworriedmama · 06/09/2011 22:23

ahh pooh, who was the mystery bidder I wonder? Unlucky for both of us this time :(

sillyworriedmama · 06/09/2011 22:27

I was outbid before I even got started! was hoping to sneak in at the last minute lol. I'm a terrible ebay gazumper. I never actually put in my bid until there's about 30seconds left just to try and avoid a bidding war...

suzie38 · 06/09/2011 23:13

I wait until 10 seconds these days before bidding.

Tiggywunkle · 06/09/2011 23:14

20 secs here and I put my absolute maximum in even if it seems silly.

TruthSweet · 07/09/2011 14:18

Phew I've just done a BIN on a Combi for £25. Panic stations over Grin

All I need now to do is sell the Emmaljunga, the BJCMD and the Bumbleride Flyer. Not too ambitious, am I?

Tiggywunkle · 07/09/2011 14:21

Yay for finding a Combi. The BJCMD should sell easily enough. The Flyer will if someone knows about them.

TruthSweet · 07/09/2011 14:32

I think I will just have to clean up the Flyer and hope for the best. Any tips for getting mildew stains out? Wink

Tiggywunkle · 07/09/2011 21:34

No idea at all re mildew. Sorry!

The Rumble Seat has been delayed again....it's on back order. Grr! But I was keeping the City Select just to do a comparison with it....but I am just going to sell the City Select on now. I could be waiting months at this rate for the Rumble seat, then DD will be definitely too big for it! We will never use the City Select again and it will go towards paying for my Peach Blossom / +one.

After yesterday's walk with the Duet it's days are definitely numbered too...
I feel really sad about selling both these pushchairs. The BJCS was superb for the first 10 months. I loved it and I loved planning which position to seat the children in. Part of me wonders if we should keep it as the second seat will slide under the main seat on a day trip in case DD gets tired, but there's no point really.....But will I regret selling the BJCS?? It's so small folded and easy to store...and would work for our shopping trips on flat floors...
The Duet looked like it could be as near a perfect double as you could get, but even without going into the niggles, DD is tormenting her brother because the hoods 'catch' together and she keeps lifting her hood up, which brings his hood up, and then she can reach across and poke or grab him! Never mind kicking him! I have terrible pain down one leg today after the walk. I do feel very disappointed TBH.

BB has a new server all to itself and it's running really fast now :) More importantly we won't have any twits at any ISPs turning us off by accident :) We just need to switch it over hopefully any minute now :)

TruthSweet · 07/09/2011 22:18

Good luck with the switch over. I'll have a crack at that review in a few days. If I do pics would you like DH's digital SLR ones or would a camera phone be adequate (I should care about the difference in pic quality given DH's obsession hobby but I don't!).

I'd sell the BJCS as you have other options for dual carrying but I know what you mean about the 'What If's '. I torture myself over selling pushchairs as I miss them. I still miss my Hauck Infinity and that got sold about 2.5 years ago.

Tiggywunkle · 07/09/2011 22:40

Whatever you can do would be great. I was surprised how good my iPhone pics were the other day.
It's hard selling a pushchair when it's been so good and you have great memories attached to it. The BJCS is only the second pushchair I have got sentimental about.
It's so tiny folded though...and that's a positive when boot space is at a premium especially for shopping trips...

MonkeysPunk · 08/09/2011 07:03

I have sold my maclaren xlr now. Posting it today.
The Vista is excellent as my school run / shopping pram. It's been fab to have him facing me for the very long walks (between 6 and 8 miles daily) and it really helps keep him cozy in high winds and lashing rain.
I fitted the nomad silver snuggle bag instead of using the raincover. I can popper the top of it over the bumper bar, which holds it open for lifting him in or out, and I don't really need to use the harness!

OP posts:
Tiggywunkle · 08/09/2011 10:00

Its nice to hear you like the Vista so much. I can't afford to like mine lol! I just wish the Rumble seat would hurry up. I have no use as a single right now!
Truth, hold fire writing anything please. We are having to wait for things to update. I will let you know when it's all done :)

sillyworriedmama · 08/09/2011 10:35

Tiggy what is BB? I am considering saving up for the full Vista package in case we manage to ttc this year, or at least before DS is 2. I love the idea of the rumble seat followed by the buggy board as well. I think in the US you can get a crib stand to use the bassinet as your full time moses basket too, which I think would justify the cost in part. We didn't have a moses basket, or a pram bassinet last time and I always wished we had done. I started off with a Britax that you could only click the car seat into for parent facing. Silly I know, but I feel I missed a lot of the lovely newborn stuff, walking around seeing your tiny little baby facing you.

Tiggywunkle · 08/09/2011 10:59

BB is Best Buggy I love the carrycot stage. It's such a short period of time though - I try and tell people this though when they get all upset that their baby can't see them (even though babies up to six months tend to fall straight to sleep once you start pushing them) or are far away from them on a tandem. You can get the stand for the Vista carrycot. Maybe I should be ordering a Piggyboack but I real don't like buggy boards. One day I may have to give in!

MonkeysPunk · 08/09/2011 12:28

I was thinking of getting this for DS as we are out and about so much - and there are no public loos on my walking circuit - and at 3y I really need to potty train him now! I saw this video and noticed the lady in it has a Mima pushchair - is it the xari or the kobi though?!

Tiggy - I think if you could find a way to safely transport your DD on the Vista you might like it (and not need the +one?) - maybe you could get the piggyback board to review - and in 3 or 4 months it might work okay with your DD? Or maybe that rumble seat will arrive and prove strong enough to cope - it certainly wasn't tippy on Holly's review on youtube - as the child could climb in it unassisted (granted it was a much smaller child - but still it seemed very stable). The seat will be large enough - and as your DS is less than the maximum weight for his seat - the frame would not be overloaded - just the weight distributed differently.
My ds is 3y and still less than 15kg atm. I thought he was about average for size but maybe he's a bit on the small side now! He still has lots of room to grow in the vista seat.

pramsgalore · 08/09/2011 12:32

its a xari, i have a folding potty with disposable bags for in the car, they are very good.

pramsgalore · 08/09/2011 12:37

like this one, i have had mine for years and its still going strong,
www.madeformums.com/reviews/potty-training/potties/potette-plus-folding-potty/316.html

Tiggywunkle · 08/09/2011 12:45

Cheeky Rascals are the distributors for both products. Yes it's a Xari. I have the Tommee Tippee Potette too! I have had many over the years! Nice and discrete and easy to use although could do with more absorbency! But I love being able to fling the bag into the nearest bin!

Tiggywunkle · 08/09/2011 12:53

We definitely need a seat for DD yet...she was all over on the Joovy. But more than that we do all day shopping trips and I think she needs somewhere to sit for at least part of the day. Assuming the +one will fit in the car - I saw a review recently where it said the +one was shorter folded than MB say so I am living in hope. But we have a new supermarket opening practically next door and the +one would allow me to carry double or more of the shopping home in the back space whilst DD is at nursery. I really want to open the Vista but we only use a single around the house / garden and I do not want it to get spoilt. If I like it then we may get the piggyback...

Tiggywunkle · 08/09/2011 13:01

Sorry I was hopelessly distracted writing that by DD and DS!! What I was trying to say was if the +one will fit in my car it will be great. But I have a back up plan if not. DD is tall and she's just over 15kgs now - I think the Vista weight issue will be with the joints of the Rumble seat holding rather than the overall chassis. DS is nowhere near being able to use the Rumble seat yet.
