grrr, thats so annoying honey.i frigging hate eBay ATM Angry

suzie,oooh a new car,it looks nice!what coulor is it

its a shame the duets not working out tiggy, they could have made a really awesome pushchair, and they seem too have messed it up by rushing the finer detailsSad

i took the verve out today, the back wheels are splaying very slightly and its clicking, the frame is creaking too,but i still love it...i need to make some phone calls about it...today was not the day however,DFIL,made an offer at the doorstep in a very casual manner that totally shook our day.
we were talking about our hall smelling damp (the letterbox leaksHmm) and he said we should start looking for a new house, and that we'd be better off looking to buy.we said we'd never afford the deposit, and he said 'well, you can always come to me' Shock and then he said bye to the DC,and left.ive been walking around like this >>>Shock all day!

Tiggywunkle · 05/09/2011 21:39

Wow that's a kind offer :) I'll message you about the Verve.

suzie38 · 05/09/2011 21:43

Wow that's a great offer!!! My in laws are spending all their money on cruises though we will get half share to the house when they're gone...I've gone for the red one as it was the only solid paint color, whereas we'd have to pay an extra £400 for the other colors...Just worrying slightly now that it'll stand out from the other boring colored cars in the car park!!! My American car seat fits in it perfectly with no chance of buckle crunch at all...I've started lising my Orbit though think it'll take a while to sell...Still pondering on the Xari!!! Can't wait until i no longer have to ponder pushchairs lol

Honeydragon · 05/09/2011 21:43

No it was a neutral comment, and I'm not sure what to reply other than "actually, it was clean".

Or ask eBay if I send photos they could remove it?

Tiggywunkle · 05/09/2011 21:54

You can always ask EBay - you can also ask the seller to retract their moment too. But EBay don't often remove feedback. just argue your point back as well as you can ie very clean, was used etc. Because your comment will show under theirs for future buyers to see. It's worth doing. Think first though re what to write.

friggFRIGG · 06/09/2011 08:53

Yes,it is a very kind offer,he's a very kind man.
hopefully, once im working again, our joint income will go up,and we'll get a decent mortgage from the bank,at least i think thats how it works....we've never even looked into it before!

friggFRIGG · 06/09/2011 10:28

monkey, was it you who linked to those cool lunch box's,with the little compartments? i cant find them now! aggh!

MonkeysPunk · 06/09/2011 10:39

Tiggy, if you turn the duet over, spin the wheels. How long do they rotate before they stop? My swift wheels were quite, slow and didn't rotate much before they stopped. I suspected poor lubrication of the ball bearings. That or just not very good ones. Mine improved a bit after piling, but were never anywhere near as good as good as the ones on my babyjoggers, instep nipper, or vista. All their wheels rotate really freely quickly for ages.
I thought the balance if the swift was good, as was the design, but some components seemed to be inconsistent with the quality expected for such a "high end" product.
For example the thinness of wire used in the safety lock (which unwound itself as it slipped down the side of the lock - if they used thicker wire or more tightly riveted the plastic components to have prevented this from happening).
It's hard to measure the quality of the ball bearing units, I can only say they were not allowing the wheels to rotate freely.
Fabrics and frame were excellent quality as were the accessories and footrest and actual wheels and tyres.

Frigg, re the mortgage, you may be pleasantly surprised if you have a good history and relationship with your bank.

Right in regards to feedback, shall I reply

Item was washed, sold as USED not new. Listing doesn't say cleaned, but it was.

Or should I leave it?

MonkeysPunk · 06/09/2011 10:55

They were "goodbyn" lunch boxes. I bought mine from funky moose. They are great. The compartments really make you put in healthy extras. I put cheerios in Ds's yesterday which he loves to eat dry.
You freeze the drink container to chill the food until lunchtime.
I'm making a houmous dip for tomorrow with carrot sticks. I have a pack of dried orchard mix or pop corn or mixed seeds, or strawberry crisp cereal for other days.
Today they got dried apple rings and pumpkin seeds. Plus sandwiches and yoghurt. I was able to buy nice tropical vitamin juice and raspberry cordial inexpensively from the polish shelf at our shop.

Tiggy also the swivel mechanism for front wheel on swift felt too tight, or unlubricated. This really. Makes for a heavy push as manouverabilty is sluggish.

Also on the goodbyn lunch box subject, one of the best things is you don't need clingfilm or foil. Each compartment self seals. Kids can get the lid off themselves too.

oh fantastic thanks monkey!
its a bit weird as DD will be staring nursery just as they're finishing their lunch,so i need to take her something to much on or she'll end up nicking everybody else'sBlushGrin

Tiggywunkle · 06/09/2011 11:16

I would certainly add a reply to feedback. It was make me look more favourably at poor feedback.
Thanks re the wheels. I will have a play later. I have pondered whether I have even put the wheels on the wrong way round or too tight. I will have a look.

MonkeysPunk · 06/09/2011 11:17

Honeydragon, definately post your response. X

Honeydragon · 06/09/2011 11:24

thankyou Smile have done so. thankfully other buyers mention the good condition of my items.

If she wanted a shiny new bugaboo she should have paid £800, I hope she has a very possety baby Grin

MonkeysPunk · 06/09/2011 11:27

Ds didn't eat too much lunch Tbh he never does. He really enjoyed pre school and went in happily and was reluctant to leave after too! The staff said he was very happy, very sociable and played nicely and shared nicely with the other children. I was very glad to hear this as he hadn't really been to playgroup very much at all.
Right, I have the rest of the girls uniforms to finish putting labels in now. Then stuff to ebay.

Right - I have narrowed it down to the Senzz, Nuna & Citisport. Any opinions on any of these? I love the look of the Senzz, and it looks so comfy but apparently the handle is uncomfortable, the Nuna looks good but the basket is tiny and it's difficult to get up curbs and the Citisport looks comfy too but the styling leaves something to be desired. Am I just being a pram snob?

suzie38 · 06/09/2011 17:56

I love both my 2 Citisports and my Nuna...I don't use the Nuna a lot mainly because it's stored upstairs and i've got loads of buggies downstairs to use...I'm saving it for DD to use with her toys when she's older...Basket is very small but the little blue Ikea bags slide nicely over the handle...My dad uses the Citisport the most as it's great on the bus because it's so small...Before i got my Flyer, if i could only keep one buggy it would have been a Citisport...The other one lives at the in laws...Very easy one hand fold though it was only when i got the brand new one with instructions that i discovered the proper way to fold it...I'm saving pictures from all the eBay ones to see how many colorways it came in!!! Basket is a great size and DD loves sitting in it.

suzie38 · 06/09/2011 18:34

Bugger Nissan came back to me today and said they could offer scrappage on my Matiz...So i probably could have got a brand new car for £5000, maybe less...Why oh why didn't the Nissan man call me yesterday afternoon??? Really can't see us managing with 2 small cars until we're pushchairless though i'll discuss again with DH later...We'd have to go out with the Citisport or Nuna all the time.

pramsgalore · 06/09/2011 19:18

i have a citisport they are a great little pushchairs, don't use it that often, but great when you need something small and compact, but still with a big basket and the fold is easy one hand on handlebar [push button and twist] and foot push down on basket and its not only folded but locked as well, i had a nuna and it was great to push, very compact but i could not get it out the house, it won't get over the door step just sat over the step rocking could not get the front wheels to touch the floor before lifting the back ones because its too low to the ground, but other than that its a great little pushchair and very sort after. i found the nuna nicer to push out of the two, but the citisport has better storage

pramsgalore · 06/09/2011 19:21

my citisport is blue and grey

suzie38 · 06/09/2011 20:54

I've got a grey and pastel colored Citisport that cost £8 from a car boot...My other is dark blue and i bought brand new off eBay.

sillyworriedmama · 06/09/2011 21:09

there is a brand new citisport on ebay right now (ending in an hour) £35+£15postage. Please could someone else buy it so that I don't? :) It's beige, and looks rather lovely.

pramsgalore · 06/09/2011 21:12

i bought mine brand new from D and A toys a few years ago, it still looks new lol prob only been used a handful of times, but it is handy to have a small pushchair, even though i prefer larger pushchairs to compact ones.

pramsgalore · 06/09/2011 21:14

oooo press the buy it now, you know you want to Grin
