Happy birthday Arlo! I hope he's had a good day despite the rain. Smile

Tiggywunkle · 04/09/2011 17:44

I booked Butlins today Confused! A great deal though although we will only we there for two of the four nights because they couldn't do less. But we saw Bob the Builder live today which was fab! DD loved it and thankfully DS slept at the end and on the way home. We took the surf so we could pop it under our chair but the kind theatre people said we could just leave it up at the side. But it was nice to know it could have been folded small if we had needed it. It's not the greatest pushchair but not bad for a little thing!

MonkeysPunk · 04/09/2011 18:04

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Arlo Friggfrigg. :)

Did a test run to the supermarket today with the Jazz (had to fight with DH to get a turn at pushing it!) and it's lovely to push, really sturdy, fab suspension, so adaptable for DD2's whims (foot rest up or down - no problem), huge hood with great viewing window and so comfy for her.

As it was raining we used the waterproof apron/boot/leg cover - thingie and flipped the hood down so DD2 could see out of the viewing window but still stay dry. I realise that sounds weird but they don't seem to do pushchair style rain covers just fabric or clear plastic hood/leg cover combos so we flipped the hood down so she didn't get a wet face.

The only problem going round the supermarket was the stares, it was really un-nerving to see people clock the pushchair and gawp at DD2, some people were really, really obvious that they were staring. Luckily she was busy playing with her doll so I hope she didn't notice.

Tiggywunkle · 04/09/2011 21:54

I am glad the run with the Jazz went well. Stares aren't good though :( We currently get grannies coming up to us with photos in random places to share the stories of their grand children lol it's most odd Hmm I hope you two Verve users can sort your creaks out. It's not good :( it's one issue I didn't have lol!

TruthSweet · 04/09/2011 22:02

Obviously it's because the pushchair is so fabulous not because they are trying to work out what's 'wrong' with her Hmm Still I like chatting to little old ladies used to get it all the time when pushing the Emmaljunga!

MonkeysPunk · 04/09/2011 23:47

Thanks, I shall get some next time I pop into Halfords.
Glad the Jazz worked well for you, aside from the stares. I thought it looked gorgeous on the pics on ebay.

The Duets days are numbered on two counts...I took it on my usual circuit (first time since getting it) and it's this circuit that gives me a good feel of things like pushability, how a pushchair handles steps, kerbs, cobbles, small shops etc. The Duet did really well in the small shops but we had to fold the handle right down to get under the post office counter. But we did it. But the Duet was really heavy. I have back problems and the sign of a heavy pushchair is whether my back hurts by the first long stretch (slightly uphill) or not, and today it was hurting before we got to that point. I adjusted the handle but it didn't help. I knew it wasn't a light pushchair after the first outing but today was verging on heavy. It's a two handed push. I know my two are heavy but there are several doubles including the B-Dual, Twinner Twist, Elite and Peach that are one handed pushes. It's too heavy for me at this stage never mind the future. Secondly DD has Lelli Kelly shoes and she spent the the whole journey constantly rubbing her shoes against DSs bare feet whilst he slept. I got fed up of telling her to keep her feet still. Poor DS :( It's not really the Duets fault that my DD can't keep her feet still but the seats are very close. I really thought the Duet would be a perfect pushchair but it's not.
Has anyone any thoughts why the Duet feels heavy? Is it the small wheels, no suspension or weight distribution? Or just one of those things?

suzie38 · 05/09/2011 19:41

Totally off topic...I bought my first brand new car today, just a little Hyundai i10...Mind you DH will be driving it mostly as i use his Meriva so i can fit DD and all her equipment in...Don't think i'll get the Donkey in an i10!!!

Tiggywunkle · 05/09/2011 20:22

Yay for a new car :) how exciting! I need to look it up now :)

Honeydragon · 05/09/2011 21:10

Angry I am pissed off as I have been marked down and had a shitty comment on my ebay feedback, for my Cam.

Item anything but clean, although seller suggested that " it has been cleaned"

I washed all the fabrics. I washed the chassi in hot soapy water. I took all the wheels off and washed them. I then bubble wrapped it and boxed it. How much cleaner do you need?

More annoyingly, I photoed every scratch and mark and highlighted it and at no point in my listing did I say it had been cleaned (even though it was!).

I knew I should have blocked the bid. Her feedback was only 6, and all her other items were new from eBay shops. It pisses me off - she gave me the wrong address on paypal to deliver too, so I agreed to send it to a non paypal address next day delivery, and she leaves pissy feedback as it isn't a new pushchair Confused

stupid me for thinking everyone starts somewhere and letting her bid. stupid.

suzie38 · 05/09/2011 21:30

That's awful...Was it full negative feedback??? I got neutral last week and was very annoyed...Sent her a rude email and she said they weren't wearable...They were Next brand pram shoes and i stated the size...Not much i can do...If people want 100% perfect, then buy brand new!!! Have you left feedback for her??? I know you can only do positive but your comment doesn't have to be though.

Tiggywunkle · 05/09/2011 21:33

:( :( Hugs. I assume you have left a response? I do wonder what people eect. I had a new pair of shoes on EBay, someone messaged me to say they could buy new for that price so could I lower it (errm they were brand new)? The item ended and the next message was, what is your returns policy!!!??? Errmm none....if you don't like the, you sell them on...but remember you could buy them in a shop lololol I didn't reply to that one! eBay is annoying me somewhat at the minute but having said that I have just won the bike trailer baby seat for about half price :) I left my first ever negative feedback this weekend to the Valco woman. Grrr!

Tiggywunkle · 05/09/2011 21:34

'Expect' that was! My iPad isn't very responsive tonight!
