New thread for buggy collectors! Grin

Sorry the valco case was thrown out. So unfair.
We had a similar case with a buggy not fit for purpose.
Ad also said returns accepted but they refused. Ebay / paypal did nothing.
We took it to the tip in the end. Seller was quite nasty during the dispute. Horrid experience.
I totally sympathise with you.

aswellasyou · 02/09/2011 21:46

Tiggy, how irritating! I don't know if it'll work, but you could attempt to open a dispute in PayPal. They could have at least let you pay to return it and get a refund. Hmm The Quinny footmuff thing is strange too, but at least you should get them for the bargain price in the end.

Tiggywunkle · 02/09/2011 22:00

Thanks Monkeys - thankfully there is a tiny bit of silver lining because hopefully my Rumble Seat people can ship me a new wheel in with the Rumble Seat and other bits (although the Rumble seat was due there this week so may already be en route, but they can send the wheel out separately). But why can't Ebay see that 5 mins use before breaking is not acceptable even if everything looked ok??! That's the last time I do a pick up only!!! You dont get buyer protection (and yet the man who bought from me apparently did!! Grrr)

Aww re selling the Nipper. I have sold my BJCM today which for me is like cutting my arm off. But I really want the 4 wheel version and a buyer came along offering a fair price so I let it go. We have plenty of other pushchairs but the BJCM is special. I am just waiting to hear whether my 4 wheeler has come into the shop yet. I am sure it was due any day.

Ok..on a completely different topic - I think I need Frigg's advice but I am sure someone else can help. Paultons Park - Peppa Pig World - is it any good? Is it worth us doing a 10 hour + stops (on a good run) round trip just to make one little Peppa fan happy for her 3rd birthday? We would drive down the night before but I would have to do the long drive home afterwards which would be exhausting....
I am trying my hardest to avoid doing a proper party (I hate organising parties) and the party we had planned has all but been cancelled unless we double the price to nearly £400!!!! I can't think of anything else I want to do and its only a month away....
Would you drive it? Remember I used to live down south so the drive doesn't bother me that much although its further now...but we have the children (+DVD players).
I would do it if it was worth it when you got there....but is it????!!??? Be honest!! Its one hell of a drive and a lot of petrol / hotel money!!!

Tiggywunkle · 02/09/2011 22:01

I looked into Paypal protection and its very grey...I can't be bothered to argue with anyone any more over something that wasn't my fault. I will pay the $25 plus costs and add it to the price when reselling!!!

Honeydragon · 02/09/2011 23:26

What is up with eBay at the moment??

I have been stalking a nev the bear for ds for xmas for ages, as they are no longer produced and go for between £30-£40 + postage. Finally bid on on one and won for a good price. Paid as soon as I could through eBay, on Tuesday.

Today I received a really nice email from the seller stating I hadn't paid postage and as I was over 100 miles away didn't think I would be collecting Grin
I checked through eBay it showed I'd paid the full amount plus £2.99 postage. Then I checked my Paypal account and only the costs for the bear had been taken Confused

I paid her the rest through Paypal, even though you're supposed to do it through eBay, as eBay wouldn't let me as it was convinced I'd paid in full.

The poor seller, bless her had clearly waited the 3 full days before contacting me, and then started worrying about getting the damn thing to me asap, although I told her not to as there was no rush.

eBay take a small fortune in fees now yet provide a lot less support, and don't seem interested in resolving problems Sad

Tiggywunkle · 02/09/2011 23:38

How weird....I am really fed up of Ebay to be honest....whenever a buyer has a problem then its all my fault but when I as a buyer have a problem its still my fault. The worst I have ever had is parcels going missing and thats certainly NOT my fault...ho hum.
Is the seller going to post the bear to you (hmm I am going to have to Google nev the bear now!)

Honeydragon · 02/09/2011 23:44

Yup, I paid her straight away and she emailed back to say as she couldn't get to the post office tomorrow she'd try and go today. I told her not to rush out specially, after all it wasn't anything she had done wrong.

Nev is the bear from the CBBC program, Bear Behaving Badly Smile

here

friggFRIGG · 02/09/2011 23:45

ebay is crap,i sympathise with all the problemsSad

tiggy i havent been,DD would LOVE It,but we dont drive and haven't had the chance, nearly went on her birthday though,i know a few who've gone and they've loved it,queues are long, prices inside are extortionate.but everyone seems to have a good daySmile

i LOVE the verve, really love it.ive used it as a single,in two toddler mode, and in NB/toddler mode (DS fell asleep in the top seat whilst DD was walking, then she got tierd so i thought id see if the 2nd seat would fit n top with DS in,it did, just skimming his chubby legsGrin) DD and DS have both been happy in both seats, awake or sleeping,in fact DD asks to lie down and 'snuggle' in the bottom seat ,she has never before asked to do that, even in bed you have to convince her to get comfy!Shock
it just works

the Kobi is finally leaving tomorow morning,i'll be a little sad to see it go,but, mostly,im just happy ive found a double that works so well for usGrin

MonkeysPunk · 03/09/2011 01:35

Paultons park is close to me. Before I say anything, understand that theme parks are not at all my thing. Husband and kids love them though!
Peppa pig world is wonderfully designed and built, and is v popular. The queues are awful. The kids enjoyed the rides they went on. The best time to enter peppa pig world would be about half an hour before the park closes.
The park on the whole is a clean and pleasant environment. The kids enjoy most rides. Hopefully yours are too young to make you ride the cobra...which will do your neck in!
As this type of park goes, I guess its pretty good. Maybe a little small. The kids water splash and sandpit are the things i liked best.

I'd love to take DD to Peppa Pig world as she's totally obsessed!!! But can't face the long journey...Decided not to go to the Baby Show...Worked out that i'd be spending a minimum of £75 without buying any must need gadget so technically i'd spend at least £150 which could go towards the Xari...I think i will get the Xari, my 40th pushchair for my 40th Birthday, which is next month!!! Think it has a good ring to it...Will have to be my last as i'm most likely going to be buying my first brand new car with cash...Going to look at my favorite car this afternoon if the showroom stays open until 6pm...Plus i want to overpay the new mortgage that has almost gone through, just need to get some paperwork sent off.

Tiggywunkle · 03/09/2011 10:04

Thanks re Peppa Pig World. I would love to go plus I get to shop at Bicester en route. But Hubby discovered Bob the Builder world at Butlins but it's not open on DDs birthday unless you stay for four weekday nights! There's no day passes that day either. It's not open on weekends either. So I don't know what to do. A day at Butlins not on her birthday does not equal no party and it's the party that I am trying to avoid replace with something better.

MonkeysPunk · 03/09/2011 16:24

Wow - I just got a part-refund for the export fees on my Vista - £0.82p.... Hmm so no escaping the vat etc. then! Still - I paid about the same as if I had ordered within the UK - so didn't cost me extra - and It was out of stock in the UK at the time I ordered from the USA - so nothing lost really!

OP posts:
suzie38 · 03/09/2011 16:54

That was through Amazon??? Did you chase it up or Amazon inform you??? I got my Flite through them.

MonkeysPunk · 03/09/2011 17:12

Just got email through from Amazon - no chasing it up. Smile So at least it's good to know the system works.

OP posts:
suzie38 · 03/09/2011 17:29

I'll probably get 10p back as my Flite was a fair bit cheaper than your Vista!!!

friggFRIGG · 03/09/2011 17:40

i got 22p back on my contours t'other day!Grin

suzie38 · 03/09/2011 17:43

I've just recieved an email to say i've got £6.98 back...How wierd we've all got them back around the same time as i'm pretty sure i bought my Flite quite a few weeks after you...I spent weeks dithering about what color to get, in fact i think it must have been a month.

friggFRIGG · 03/09/2011 17:45

that is odd,and you got nearly £7!nice!Grin

TruthSweet · 03/09/2011 21:06

Does anyone know of any small or light flat/book fold pushchairs?

I can think of the Senzz, Halo, Citisport, Combi (?), what else?

We got the Jazz EaSys pushchair today but as it has a comparatively bulky fold we won't be able to get either the Emmaljunga or the Flyer in the boot with it.

Oh, Tiggy I went to have a look at the Brio Sitty and it may have well have been a dolls' pram! It had a surprisingly small seat given the pictures online (optical illusion I think due to the low handle height) and was old too so I passed on it.

aswellasyou · 03/09/2011 21:21

The Nuna Pepp/M&P Nuna also folds in the same way. I don't think the Combi folds flat although I think it is small when folded. Then of course there's the BJCMini/Micro, Britax B-Agile and Britax B-Mobile that all fold flat too.

suzie38 · 03/09/2011 21:27

You can leave the Combi in the flat position but it does fold in on itself to make itself very small.

Tiggywunkle · 03/09/2011 21:32

LOL re the Sitty!
Is the Jazz ok? Are you happy with it?
I think everyone has given you the best options. The Baby Jogger City Select is incredibly flat though but its not light! But it does parent face :)

TruthSweet · 03/09/2011 21:42

Thanks everyone. I'll be stalking Ebay/Friday-ad/Pushchair Trader for the ones mentioned.

Tiggy - The Jazz is lovely. It's a bugger to adjust the seat but then that is because you can adjust the seat height, the seat depth, the seat width, add/remove lateral supports, the angle of the footrest, the length of the footrest.......All with allen keys. It's like an IKEA special Wink. I'll take it out for a spin tomorrow so will report back in full then (and upload a review to BB)

Tiggywunkle · 03/09/2011 23:43

Wow...that does sound very customisable! Thanks re BB. I have been told the FB page needs to be more contraversial! But I can never think of any questions to ask lol!!
The Taga bike is on Ebay now....we both feel really sad about it but it was a springboard which got us both cycling with the children.
Meanwhile I decided that Peppa Pig world was a tad too far TBH with the children for just a couple of days. So we found something probably better ie Bob the Builder at Butlins...when I say better...I mean better for my 3 year old. We wanted to go for the day, but we can't go until Tuesday and her birthday is Monday....and although it may sound daft I want to go for her birthday!
Frigg I hope Arlo has a great 1st Birthday tomorrow!

sillyworriedmama · 04/09/2011 09:34

the maxi cosi noa folds really small too... happy birthday to Arlo Frigg!
