PS...Snunkie did mess my order up big time though...Made the seat liner in the wrong material, then said they'd never ever had the material i'd asked for...The footmuff was the wrong way round which was easily rectified as it was a 4 way footmuff...Bee Plus hood was wrong way round so i had to send it back and it then became reversible.

Tiggywunkle · 01/09/2011 23:22

I remembered why I dont like my Snunkies as well - the top part is enormous - right up to DD's neck even now. Yes its lovely and cosy for winter, but the top just flops in spring and looks huge, and it drowned DS last winter when he was younger. They need some buttons or toggles at the top to keep the top folded neatly down. We tried safety pins but they kept falling out.

friggFRIGG · 01/09/2011 23:47

oooh, this is great feedback guys...im going to look into it over the next few weeks, try to make a couple for myself,i'll see how that goes firstGrin

fairimum · 02/09/2011 08:11

My snunkie def has toggles to keep the top folded down.... Think it was an extra option for a pound.... Maybe lol was ages ago!

suzie38 · 02/09/2011 08:30

Mine had toggles as well...But i never got to use it properly because it took twice as long as expected...Then the hood was wrong...By the time that was fixed it was too warm for the footmuff...Then i sold my Bee Plus.

fairimum · 02/09/2011 11:19

:( that's not good - my snunkies have always been fab, just a shame such a long wait time!

Uppababy zip in raincover just arrived by courier - their customer service really is amazing!!! :)

sillyworriedmama · 02/09/2011 11:26

off to babies r us to try DS in a P&T smart... purely because you can customise it!! Anyone had one of these? Good/Bad/Terrible?

Tiggywunkle · 02/09/2011 11:29

We have finally just bought a bike trailer :) A Croozer one. I liked the easy move to pram mode, the cut outs for helmets, bucket seats, good storage and it looks cool. Fingers crossed it's good :) I will get the baby support thingy for the baby too. But that means the Taga is going now :( I hope I can pull it as well as DH. I am terrified of tipping it though...but I will never go far but it's just that tad too far to walk to say the beach.

Tiggywunkle · 02/09/2011 11:34

I think there is a review a few pages before this of the Smart by someone who looked at one recently. I love the idea, it looks good, but the handles are very low and point in towards each other which gave me a very unnatural position where my hands were nearly touching really low down. It felt uncomfy to me and because of the handle angle I dont know how easy a one handed push us. The Smart fold is really long! I was surprised as I expected a compact fold. The seat is a good size until you put a seat snuggler / liner in and then it looks tiny! It pushes great though and I like you can have the child parent facing. I think if you are of shorter stature then it would be great.

pramsgalore · 02/09/2011 11:51

i have a croozer kid for one, they are fab so easy to conect and disconect off bike, very easy to pull and very safe, i bought it because of it safety, it is so well made and the big bumperbars, i thought that if the worst did ever happen and god forbid some idiot clipped it, my dd would stand half a chance, you can get a sunvisor for them as well.

pramsgalore · 02/09/2011 11:55

oh and the kid support thingy that is now for sale on the carriots site, they say it only fits their trailers don't know why, the older one fits the croozer as i had one, but sold it on a few months ago, the webber baby seat fits though

Tiggywunkle · 02/09/2011 12:28

Gosh you are a star! Thats one to watch! Thank you :)
I thought the Croozer looked safer. I have wanted one all the way along the line but one popped up as new as you can get (used once and sounded honest about it) and we bought it. Hubby wanted an AT3 but there was loads I didn't like the sound of on it plus you have to buy the pram handlebar seperately. I like the fact you can get accessories for the Croozer easily. We will need a raincover as well!

I came back to update re the cheap Quinny footmuffs. Mothercare cancelled the order, but after several phone calls, a screen shot of the item, a visit to my local Mothercare I have been preoredered two footmuffs at the offer price :) Yay for persistence and lovely staff at my local store who said they would price match but their system wouldn't allow such a huge discount.

pramsgalore · 02/09/2011 12:41

i got my local bike shop to order my trailer and all the bits for it. i have only used mine a couple of times, as my back went and i was unable to use a 2 wheel bike after that, but am hoping dp will use it on his bike, so i will have only one on my trike. it never felt like it was unstable when i did use it and was very light to pull, my dp said it was very well made and is impressed with it.

Tiggywunkle · 02/09/2011 12:55

DH wants an electric bike and is threatening me with an electric trike (I am wobbly on my bike so am worried about getting off mine and tipping the trailer but I believe the joints mean the trailer won't tip even if my bike does ie when stationary??) DH wants an electric bike as I have said for the school run but realistically he doesn't need one until early spring. I have a gorgeous brand new bike (not too girly) so he's agreed to use mine to get used to a two wheeler again and when he does odd errands and once the Taga goes we will get his bike. It gives us both time to get used to the trailer :)

It's a day full of news here because the Safety First Surf has just arrived. We think it's just a tad too long even with the wheels off for the usual lockers but fingers crossed we can use a larger one. Failing that it will get carried to the side of the pool. It was a bit hard to get one wheel to stay on but it's on now. There's no instructions so I just hope it's as easy to fold as it was to put up! Any tricks anyone?

pramsgalore · 02/09/2011 13:09

i am going to save up for an electric trikidoo, won't be till next summer though as they are £2000, but by then ds will be too big for the seat on my trike and i don't like my pashley, i will need electric assist as most days its windy so one way is fine but the otherway you are heading into the wind, not good, i have been know to get off and walk as i can go faster lol, but this is going to take some serious saving and with xmas coming up, my last pushchair has just been bought and that has to be it now, or i will never get my trikidoo and i really would love one. so thats it my pushchair buying days are over and i mean it this time there will be no more. i am really happy with the ones i have now so not too bothered and i have manage to get my p&t panniers to fit the orbit so no need for their panniers, the price of them and the importing cost was putting me.

TruthSweet · 02/09/2011 15:25

Tiggy - Don't forget to pull up the cross bar at the back first before doing the handles as nothing will happen!

Tiggywunkle · 02/09/2011 15:30

Lol ok! I havent tried folding it yet. I guess you lower the cross bar and possibly pull the two black loop / finger holes??

TruthSweet · 02/09/2011 15:32

I used to pull up cross bar, press grey buttons on handles to lower them, then pull the triggers up to fold.

Honeydragon · 02/09/2011 17:59

Truth

As your here, I LOVE the surf Smile, it's so light to carry, and that definitely makes up for the lack of a recline. I have a friend who's flying abroad soon who is grimly determined to steal it from me for 3 weeks Grin

Honeydragon · 02/09/2011 17:59

Oooh if you got stuck I could scan the instructions?

TruthSweet · 02/09/2011 20:01

I love the Surf too. It's great on the Tube/trains/buses as you can squish it under the seats. I bet it's great on planes too . Which colour did you get?

Tiggywunkle · 02/09/2011 20:22

I have managed it fine thanks! I am guessing there is no closing strap! It's a bit like a spider with spindly legs lol! It's a great little thing though! I have a greyish one.

The Valco case has been thrown out by Ebay. Apparently because it looked ok to the naked eye ie the damage wasn't circled in red crayon, its my problem! Grrrrr! So much for buyer protection! I am not happy because when we sold something that had a flat battery, Ebay offered the buyer the chance to return the item to us!!!

MonkeysPunk · 02/09/2011 21:24

I've sold my nipper :( although it was getti-g outgrown for naps, so I would've had to move onto the summit shortly anyway.
I'm sad to see it go, but glad i got a good price and we have the space back.
I also have a couple of keen enquiries on the xlr. It's a lovely looking buggy, but I much prefer the BJcm to use so it has to go. If buyer collects as proposed Ds is likely to see and be upset. H is away so cannot take Ds out at collection time.
I shall try hard to get Ds down for a nap. Maybe with early morning walk.
I'm feeling tempted to get the black fur with leaves buggysnuggle for my yellow Vista. The yellow vista BTW looks stunning in the golden evening sunlight of late summer. I will have to get some photos of it.
Dare I ask you Tiggy how long your rumble seat might be now?
Ds loves napping in the vista lately. Two days in a row hes climbed in with his nose tickler and had a good couple hours snooze! So Cute!
