New thread for buggy collectors! Grin

I don't think I have ever had such an expensive delivery!! Lol

aswellasyou · 31/08/2011 09:38

I'm sure a lot of parents would appreciate a special needs section on BB. I was just having a quick eBay search to see how ridiculously expensive they are and I wasn't disappointed!Shock I did find this cheap (at the moment!) all terrain pushchair in West Yorkshire though. Smile

TruthSweet · 31/08/2011 10:22

Tiggy - I don't know how long you have had your child/ren's diagnosis but I'm still reeling from DD2's diagnosis in May so it's quite fresh in my mind (hence the emotional slurging across MN Blush). I'm hoping to be a bit more stoical with time....Grin

Frigg - DD2 (and DD3 apparently) also has hypermobile joints which mask her arthritis beautifully so that apart from the occasional swellings and locking joints you wouldn't know there was anything wrong with her. Add into that her size and you get lots of disapproving glares on buses and in shops.

Hopefully having a SN pushchair may circumvent some of that. Though when people make funny comments about DD2 being in the pushchair on the bus I feel like saying 'well she has arthritis and I have epilepsy so I can't drive so we have to take the bus. So ner!' Not very grown up I know but I'm so tempted (surfeit of 'so' in that sentence though Wink).

Tiggywunkle · 31/08/2011 10:33

PSML re "wonderful wheelchairs". I sincerely hope none of us will end up there...I am hoping to just get away with a bigger pushchair like an Elite or Summit or Urban Jungle for a while. We got an at birth diagnosis which kinds of spoils the occasion. I am definitiely more stoical now - theres nothing we can do to change it so you may as well get on and enjoy life and your children!

Yay re deliveries :) They are always good times :)

fairimum · 31/08/2011 14:08

I am getting impatient... feels like the longest day ever! would much rather have no known what time it was arriving!! lol

friggFRIGG · 31/08/2011 14:15

MINES HERE!i havent had a chance to open the box yet thoughSad
im going to wait for DP to get home,so i can put it up without DC climbing all over meGrin

fairimum · 31/08/2011 14:28

Frigg you are too patient! Mine will be open as soon as it arrives! lol

friggFRIGG · 31/08/2011 14:40

ive had a peek Wink

Tiggywunkle · 31/08/2011 14:40

Has it arrived yet, Frigg?
Meanwhile I have just made my latest mad, spur of the moment purchase. After the poor quality of the Duet, I have decided to not buy a Mountain Buggy Swift. I will probably still get a +one because it will work for what I need it for ie double with storage when DD is around, or a single with even more storage for shopping whilst she is at nursery (one trip instead of two :)

But after the cheap nastiness of polyester, I decided to buy something that feels solid and quality - so I have bought an Easywalker Qtro. It's madness because a) I normally buy small light pushchairs and should ideally have bought the Bee+ - I have no idea why I havent!! I think because we have the Noa, Xtreet, Babyzen and BJCM but wanted something snug or winter...but it's mad because b) I don't need it right now! Arrghhh! Ho hum! It's done now! I have however bought the easy board for the back to try DD on a stroller board even though I hate the things and will probably never use it!

I did want to buy a Bumbleride Indie Twin or even an Easywalker Duo but the Twinner Twist Duo is a fantastic side by side and is better than the Easywalker. Maybe I should have bought a single TFK? Ho hum. The damage is done now! I hope I like the Qtro!

Tiggywunkle · 31/08/2011 14:41

Crossed posts! Open it up lol!

friggFRIGG · 31/08/2011 14:45

oooh! i hope you like it too, sounds lovelySmile

Tiggywunkle · 31/08/2011 14:49

I am officially nutty though!! Mad impulse buy! I think DH will go mad....because it's for us! It does have a 20kg weight limit though :)

fairimum · 31/08/2011 14:59

open it Frigg!!! :)

fairimum · 31/08/2011 14:59

hmmm is it wrong to be considering having another baby so can get to use the carrycot of vista??? not that it is even here yet!

Tiggywunkle · 31/08/2011 15:03

No it's not! It seems a shame to have a new carrycot and no child to use it with! I am pondering now if I could end up liking the Vista lol.

fairimum · 31/08/2011 15:10

i seem to have won OH round on the 3rd baby front... not sure my consultant would agree though... lost first baby at 26 weeks due to severe rapid onset pre-eclampsia, DD was 5 weeks early but fine, pre-eclampsia managed from 25 weeks with meds, then emergency section, DS all was fine until crash section again due to severe rapid onset Pre-eclampsia... In hospital being monitored as knew i didnt feel right, but BP was ok (they wanted to send me home but i refused!) fine one minute, 20 mins later he was out as BP gone through roof, on verge of fitting etc... crash section at 36 weeks and him in SCBU for 5 days - i don't remember anything about his birth as i was asleep apparently was pretty traumatic for those actually aware of what was going on.... still want another though....

friggFRIGG · 31/08/2011 15:44

ive opened it!!
thankyou so much tiggy,it's LOVELY!Grin

fairimum · 31/08/2011 16:19

opened mine and put together!! SO pleased!! it is lovely!! perfect in almost every way!! - hoping i grow a couple of inches or get used to handle being a bit high (but knew that when i order it!) Nothing else even came close to doing everything and this is jsut gorgeous :) smells lovely and new too!!! lol

Tiggywunkle · 31/08/2011 16:39

Happy people :) That's nice to hear!

MonkeysPunk · 31/08/2011 16:53

Truthsweet your new buggy looks gorgeous! What a bargain. Enjoy your trip to Leeds. I used to live there as a student. I have fond memories of the indoor market and shopping centers. There's also a fab park with a butterfly house. Roundhay park I think its called.
Fairmum, glad you love your Vista. I know it seems strange having packed the cot top away. I havent persuaded H to go for baby 5 yet....not sure he will change his mind.

suzie38 · 31/08/2011 17:04

Glad to hear everyone is happy today Smile As much as i'd love to try loads more pushchairs out, i'm strictly staying with one child...In a way i can't wait till i get the space back, that all the pushchairs take up...I'll just buy DD lots of doll pushchairs instead, and they take up far less space!!!

friggFRIGG · 31/08/2011 18:11

ive been playing with the verve,i love itGrin

ive put the small mesh on the back of the top seat to (mainly) cover the gap all p&t's have,it works well, and will at least keep the sun out,the seat goes up fine with in in place so it will most likely stay there...the DC both like it,both had a try and look comfy etc,the lay back on the 2nd seat is BRILLIANT,and it and the top seat recline nicely for them to sleep in....the fold is fantastic, and it will work well with 1 or 2 children in,the handle height/length is great, the sunhood is brilliantly big....i am really chuffed.

the only niggle so far is the 2nd seat hood, maybe im getting it wrong,it feels really flimsy, the top one 'catches' into place, but the bottom one just doesntConfused

im taking it out tomorrow Grin

Tiggywunkle · 31/08/2011 18:16

Yup...that's a new hood because I complained that the other hangs underneath the seat all the time. It didn't fit properly either. But the new one was exactly the same.

fairimum · 31/08/2011 18:20

ok so who has the uppababy footmuff??? i have just tried our buggysnuggle in there which fits fine and i could cut a hole inthe back for the recline handle... but would the uppababy one be better? if it stiff? or soft? also is the inside like cuddlefleece stuff? just DS loves that!! lol

fairimum · 31/08/2011 18:23

OR do I get a snunkie one?? i have a place in their queue but wont be at the top for another 8ish weeks!
