Would my front door put you off buying my house?!

Just painted it. Colour is not quite what I was going for. I wanted a lighter dusky pink. Ive only done one coat. Do you think it's too much? It's a wooden door so can be re-painted by buyers. I'm putting my house up for sale soon.

I don’t like bubblegum pink at all personally, but it wouldn’t put me off buying it.

I would probably repaint it with a Farrow & Ball colour, and possibly one of their more interesting pinks (plus their undercoats/paints last for years).

Absolutely not a colour I would choose, but it would be a tiny job to repaint it if I wanted to buy your house.

It's not nice, it clashes with the brick tones. Repaint a gentle pastel blue or pale green. Kerb appeal is important when selling.

Our front door was post box red, bit tired, so we repainted it black, polished up the brass letterbox/door handle and painted the outside lantern style lamp to match,

I wonder why you used what you obviously think is a questionable colour if you’re selling? A house near us is very Georgian, they recently repainted all the woodwork the same pink as yours and it ought to be more classical, it just looks odd. There are 2 similar style houses with black door/brass hardware. They look ‘proper’. I guess it’s just a matter of opinion/people having different tastes. I’d want to paint it something more classic pretty quickly.

It wouldn't be my colour of choice. I think a blue-grey / dark-lavender colour would go well with the colour of the stone and the roof.

I personally don't like it and would repaint a different colour as soon as possible. As its a wooden door, it would not be a deal breaker. If it was upvc and only way to change colour is to buy new door then it would put me off.

I like it but to increase buying potential apparently it's better to be safe and a bit boring.

And to price correctly for house size and location, I would be more put off by the size of the house and the feeling of being crammed next to neighbours.

It wouldn’t put me off but if you’re worried about it’s brightness put a lovely green wreath on the door . It’ll tone it down

Oh i love it. I walk my pugs past a house with the door a similar colour it's just a shade darker. She always has a beautiful flowers in her front window too.

Wouldn't put me off. It's easy to repaint a door. I'd much rather a well-maintained front door in bright pink than peeling paint in a more sober colour.

It would put me off. It reminds me of Germolene Ointment, or undercoat.

Reminds me of where I used to live. Lots of different colour doors there. Does the village begin with an S by any chance? I wouldn't choose pink but it wouldn't put me off buying in itself.

Guess it’s a bit gynaecological. But hardly a deal-breaker.

Sorry but I don’t like it and it would put me off. The initial impression is important and gets people to click further.

that said we painted our tatty wooden door a dark red to make it look smarter for selling years ago and only after it sold the estate agent told us he thought it looked (his quote not mine before I get flamed) “a bit Council House”.

Just like I can't understand why buyers are unable to see past certain decors and so houses are drenched in magnolia.

Wouldn’t put me off, but I would have a paint brush and can of paint ready for when I completed.

No i like it lol but not everyone will, so they can repaint!

I love it. My husband wouldn’t but it’s a minor detail to repaint a wooden door. Much preferable to the pvc horror nextdoor!

It wouldn’t put me off. It’s not my choice of colour, but it’s a heck of a lot nicer than the UPVC one next to it, and it’s much easier and cheaper to just repaint a wood door than replace a UPVC one.

I dont like the colour but like that it's not a boring drab standard.
