Would my front door put you off buying my house?!

Just painted it. Colour is not quite what I was going for. I wanted a lighter dusky pink. Ive only done one coat. Do you think it's too much? It's a wooden door so can be re-painted by buyers. I'm putting my house up for sale soon.

A pink front door wouldn't put me off. But if the kitchen and carpets were pink too I’d probably think twice 😀

Not at all. No door would put me off buying a house, though I hate your neighbour’s uPVC door and would be thinking I’d need to change that if that was the door in question!

I don't think it suits the style of the house at all.

As you've only done one coat I'd get a different colour to finish it.

It would not put me off as a wooden door can be repainted.

But I don't think pink of any shade would complement the yellowish/ochre tones of the brickwork, the age of the house or the style of the door. I would have gone for pillar box red, dark green, a mid to dark blue, a very golden yellow or perhaps even black.

Its the shade of pink, bit too baby pink. It wouldn't put me off but definately would be repainting it.

Not at all. Even if it wasn’t my colour. It sends a signal that you love your house and it’d make me think you probably applied that same care throughout, so I’d find it encouraging.

I think the pink door suggests that someone loves and cares about the house, and they’ve made a design choice rather than just painting it a bog standard colour for the sake of it. Keep it - it’s a statement.

My son’s friends family have just sold their house with a pink front door :) I think it looks nice, OP.

It wouldn’t put me off if I liked the house as it’s easy to paint over it.

It is lovely but for selling I’d probably go for a more neutral shade such as sage green.
Reason being that I’d assume the inside was also colourful and might scroll by the listing.

Have you thought about putting the house number in the window above the door? Victorian style stickers in gold or black look lovely.

Yeah, same for me.

I would be expecting a certain style of decor inside that would make me feel claustrophobic.

I've no problem with the actual door.

I think sage green or cherry red might be better for selling.

However, I painted the front door of our previous house (a stone built 400 year old converted mill in SW Wales) F&B Rangwali which is a bit brighter pink than yours, imo, and when we came to sell in 2024, I repainted it in Little Greene Silt, same as the windows. I just felt the pink was a bit 'marmite'.
