Would my front door put you off buying my house?!

Just painted it. Colour is not quite what I was going for. I wanted a lighter dusky pink. Ive only done one coat. Do you think it's too much? It's a wooden door so can be re-painted by buyers. I'm putting my house up for sale soon.

Much nicer than something dull - makes it look like you love your home. So whilst am not sure its for me, it 100% wouldnt put me off.

I think a dark red or maroon might be warmer.

It’s a gorgeous colour but I think you’ll have a lot more interest if it was navy blue.

Love it -mine is a darker shade of pink.

It's a wooden door, it's easy to repaint if the buyers don't like it.

I have a flower box of pink flowers to go on the window ledge. So there will be something to match it with! I'd love to change the knocker but I buried the screws deeply in the back of the door so no idea how to get them out!

I have no idea what to do. The colour has really grown on me. I like the thought that it makes my door stand out and catch the eye. I feel like the sensible option is definitely to buy more paint in a neutral shade, but i do just love pink!!

This! All the doors in our 1920s house, inside and out. were stained a particularly offensive (and shiny) shade of dark orange-y/purple-y brown. Ditto the fake fireplace (which is not actually a fireplace, having never had a chimney, so I assume they once had a gas fire there). When we repainted the front door I went for a pale-ish teal and the chap who did the job kept saying "Are you really sure about this?" But when it was finished he stepped back and agreed that it was gorgeous.

Sadly, 13 years on, I still haven't got around to dealing with the internal doors, the fireplace, or the dado rails in the one room we haven't dealt with! I often dream of hiring an arsonist ....

You may love pink but unless taking door with you then repaint and once buy a new house then paint your new door pink

I agree with this. There’s a house near us with a bright orange door and dark grey surrounding frame. It looks magnificent. Much more attractive than your bog standard uPVC.

Wouldn’t put me off. I don’t mind it but would want to change it. But it’s an easy fix.

I love to wear the colour pink, but I'm not sure I'd like my front door in it.
My gut reaction was a definite no.

It wouldn't put me off, but my estate agent said white sells best, and pastel colours are marmite. Yes, painting is easy for most people, but for some it's not, and you wouldn't want to put them off for such a simple thing.

I like a pink front door, but my personal taste wouldn’t be this particular shade of pink. It’s probably just the photo but it looks like it was originally red but then just got bleached to pink by the sun. If you’re going pink, go really pink.

It certainly wouldn’t put me off, even if it was a taste of things to come. It’s just cosmetic. Who moves into a house thinking no decorating needs to be done? Especially when so many people go for that greige look.

No one's going to think it's the same colour inside. If you look at the layout of photos on Rightmove you get one main picture, plus other thumbnail photos, so buyers would instantly be able to see the inside is not pink. You don't even have to lead with a photo of your front door as your main photo.

It wouldn’t put me off because like you say, it can be repainted.
But to appeal to the majority of buyers a nice light sage green would be the best colour. IMHO

My mum has found a tin of satin white paint. Im painting tomorrow. Do I continue with the pink, or go white instead?

Look for complimentary colours of the brickwork.

Definitely not white @Needtosellmyhousesoon ...so boring! You want your house to stand out against the competition. We really only changed ours from 'Rangwali' to 'Silt' because a) our house was very unique anyway so already had a USP and b) because we were selling in an area where houses were known to linger on the market for years (this was late 2023/early 2024) and we were extremely keen to sell ASAP!

I think my front door is the same colour 😆 is it called "my husband said no" ? I've had so many compliments for it. i put a pink and lilac floral wreath on which sets it off lovely. I also thought it would be a more subtle pink though.
