Would my front door put you off buying my house?!

Just painted it. Colour is not quite what I was going for. I wanted a lighter dusky pink. Ive only done one coat. Do you think it's too much? It's a wooden door so can be re-painted by buyers. I'm putting my house up for sale soon.

I like it, but it’s polarising. For the sake of an extra coat it’s not worth the risk that it might tip the balance for someone. Go for something more neutral.

If you are putting it up for sale, it's a very personalised shade to go for. Plus, it doesn't really go with the stone.

If you were staying, I'd say keep the colour, paint it for you. As you're going, I'd advise you to go for a more market-friendly colour that tones in better with the stone of your house.

Yes, it’s very marmite, if I was selling I’d do something neutral.

I really don't like it, but would know it can be repainted so i don't think it would put me off.

i once bought a house where every room was a different shade of bright garish blue. One room might have been fine, but every single room was too much. Didn’t turn is off at all. It was the perfect house.

It wouldn’t put me off at all but if I was you and I could be bothered I’d paint it and make it more neutral. Some people have no imagination when it comes to houses and need things really neutral or they think the ‘vibe’ is off.

It wouldn’t put me off, if the house was otherwise suitable, but I’d be straight off to B&Q for a pot of paint.

It wouldn't put me off buying, but I personally don't like pink and would re-paint it. It wouldn't 'go' with anything inside my house . It would make it easy to spot the house though.

I'm be more concerned about all the tiny, wooden panels on that door and the additional cleaning required to get the dust/grime off it from the road!

I think it’s lovely, I have a lavender front door previously it was quite a strong pink mischief by little greene I think it was love a bright front door very cheery.

This is one of my examples that I can use of completely inappropriate and out of context psuedo safeguarding/therapy type talk that then gets applied to random situations

A red flag is used to denote risk within relationships, abusive relationships, where someone may come to harm.

@Needtosellmyhousesoon these pics show our old front door when it was Rangwali (pink) in 2022 and Silt (taupe) in 2023/4. In hindsight, whilst the pink was more 'us', the taupe matching the windows looked far more classy/better for selling, imo.

The military used red flags to warn of danger, no safe passage or imminent battle, long before therapists used it. Therapists and counselling may have helped to popularise the phrase but it didn’t originate there.

I love it! But if I didn’t, as long as it wasn’t UPVC, no problem as it’s readily changeable. Your house is gorgeous, I love the warm stone. Reminds me of the cotton mill workers houses in Derbyshire 😍

Used to walk past a pink door all the time in London, it always made me smile.

tbh, I would look at it and my first thought would be “oh god it’s going to be a nightmare inside decor wise” so in terms of kerb appeal, it’s a no from me and personally I’d paint it something more standard.

It’s a nice colour. It’s only paint anyway. Any new owner could change the colour in an afternoon if they so choose. I’d not buy next door though. That door is on the huh and possibly hiding all sorts of structural nonsense!
