Would my front door put you off buying my house?!

Just painted it. Colour is not quite what I was going for. I wanted a lighter dusky pink. Ive only done one coat. Do you think it's too much? It's a wooden door so can be re-painted by buyers. I'm putting my house up for sale soon.

As an agent I am not a fan. Sorry. If it had been a lot duskier, maybe, but I think pink is a very polarising colour. If you want a country cottage look sage is a good way to go and doesn’t age with the sun quite so badly as the traditional black, red, etc.

Absolutely

Curb appeal is important in getting people to click on the link and get them in through the front door. In a buyers market, which it is in most places at the moment, I would be looking to maximise that appeal and would not choose a polarising colour, however lovely I thought it looked.

I've nothing against pink, in fact we have a dusty pink sofa, but I don't like this particular shade of pink. Never the less, the colour wouldn't stop me buying the house; I'd simply repaint the door.

I like it, I think it shows individuality and a deliberate style choice.I also have a “bold” coloured front door. Even the chap fitting it commented that it wasn’t to his taste. Asked him what colour his door was: “grey”.

Not at all, I've got a pink door too, and door frames inside the house too! People find personality endearing in houses imo

I would assume that anyone who is put off by the colour of a front door is a time waster anyway and would be a nightmare to deal with as a potential buyer.

I mean, how lazy and lacking in imagination do you have to be to not grasp that if you don't like the colour you can simply paint it again in the shade of your choice.

It's fine but I would paint over it.

I love it. I hate it when every door on a street is the same boring colour. It's so easy to change the colour though if people didn't like it.

Imo it looks awful when the frame is painted a different colour (eg, white) to the door itself.

I like it 👍 I would give it a new door knocker, there are some lovely ones that are not as boring as the traditional ones. I’ve seen bumblebee’s, flowers, dragonflies, so many different types and I think it would really elevate the look.

Wouldn't put me off but would be fairly high up on my list to repaint as it's not a colour I would choose myself. But, that's ok 😀.

I love love love a pink door but that shade doesn’t go with the brick work so it would be a job I’d be thinking of doing once in.

Now that there are people on MN calling it tacky, I would 100% double down.

It would put my husband off. Not sure what the market is like where you are. But if there’s heaps of choice this would possibly make me drag him there rather than walk in willingly.
