Please help me find a property anywhere in uk for under 60k. Preferably under 40k. One bedroom ground floor flat maybe. Seen some places up north but it seems impossible to do nationwide check on rightmovè

Oh, that's really a good one. Big garden, cellar for storage, right in the centre and money left over to do up the front room a bit. I could imagine moving there.

Be aware if you're buying a flat and the price is very low, it maybe because the lease is very short, which can be problematic.

Also to those recommending shared ownership, as the OP is not working and on benefits this is unlikely to be an option.

@Spidey66 not necessarily true if she is buying her share but in cash - and the rent due on remainder is within UC local limits -I checked this out before- if you need a mortgage to bury the share bit- yes it wont work - but she doesn't for many many areas-
