I wasn't sure if this is the right place, but I was a huge fan of the series.

Just posting if anyone else was interested

Does it include a Colin Firth?

Pandaandpurple · 02/05/2024 08:50

Ooh thanks for sharing OP! I wouldn’t mind moving to Longbourn 😀

TheCultureHusks · 02/05/2024 08:50

I wouldn’t buy it, it has a very small park and some of the windows face due west.

I agree Lady Catherine. It is nothing like Rosings

If unlucky, Mr Collins has finally inherited and taken up residence...

Remind me how much your chimneypieces cost, Lady C? Or come over and accept refreshments purely to see if my joints are too big for my family.😀

Loving the comments! 😂

Maybe we can decide on exactly which room Charlotte would hide in from Mr Collins, leaving him the livelier front-facing one? Though I suppose no passers-by when you’re in your own park, and Lady C is miles away at Rosings…

Abra1t · 02/05/2024 09:12

It's further away from Meryton than I would have thought, from reading the book. Suppose I need trimmings for my bonnet in a hurry!?

LOL!!!!!

Lilacdew · 02/05/2024 09:18

I love that the flat suitable for live-in staff is specified as North-facing. Wouldn't want them to get South-facing ideas above their station.

CountingCrones · 02/05/2024 09:28

After that tawdry business of the youngest daughter’s marriage - if one could call it that - I wouldn’t want a property linked to such unpleasantness.

ClipClopperDontStopper · 02/05/2024 09:31

There's a prettyish kind of wilderness on one side of the lawn. Ideal for having showdowns with jumped up hussies intent on stealing your nephew away from his true intended.

Lollygaggle · 02/05/2024 09:37

I'm sorry but as my income is in excess of £10,000 a year I can afford a suitably more imposing residence.

Peakfreens · 02/05/2024 09:38

Love that. But man that's pricy.

SOxon · 02/05/2024 09:41

David Bamber, what a brave actor, creepy Mr Collins, lovely pragmatic Charlotte.

He was brilliant. Though I also think Tom Hollander was differently good in the Joe Wright P and P (which didn’t have a lot to recommend it, other than TH, the obvious sexual attraction that got the Bennets together in the first place, and the fact that the director was brave enough to cast Jane to be conventionally prettier than Elizabeth). You couldn’t do David Bamber’s performance again.

evilharpy · 02/05/2024 09:56

This has made me want to watch P&P again. Is it on streaming anywhere?

Mr Bennett wasn't as poor as he made out 😉

LaurieFairyCake · 02/05/2024 10:06

It's amazing 🤩

Comes with 4 cottages to rent out

Wish I had money like that

The whole point is that Mr B isn't poor while he's alive, but because everything is entailed the family money dies with him.

It definitely makes you see why Charlotte thought Mr Collins was a price worth paying. I'd consider taking Tom Hollander if he came with that house. David Bamber, (in that role) not so much.

Squishwallow · 02/05/2024 10:13

How could you possibly by this and expect to ever spend any time ever again not flouncing about in lovely dresses and picking cuttings from the garden.

we could all sell what we have, club together and buy it, fight over preferred bedrooms, send for Mr Darcy ?
