What could 1 million pounds buy you within 10 miles of where you live?

Inspired by a recent thread that really made me realise how wildly different house prices are around the country

This is the highest listed one near me. A 5 bed barn conversion with nearly 2.5 acres of land

Hardly anything round here is that expensive - only a couple of properties at the £1m mark and I don't like either of them, so I will go for this at £975k

Oh gosh I just realised the one I posted was the hotel which refused the gay couple about 10 years ago 😱. I would definitely buy it if I had the money though.

Oh for a million you could buy a three bed terrace fairly close! It would need a bit of TLC, or a one bed flat closer in. At the outer edges of distance a four bed detached!

A fairly nice but unflashy detached 4 bed with a large garden. No extras. Highly expensive Cornish coastal village.
