What could 1 million pounds buy you within 10 miles of where you live?

Inspired by a recent thread that really made me realise how wildly different house prices are around the country

This is the highest listed one near me. A 5 bed barn conversion with nearly 2.5 acres of land

Within 10 miles it massively varies from a full on mansion to a one bed flat - hugely depends on the exact area.

In the town, a nice enough family home but not big. Out in the sticks, probably something absolutely enormous. 10 miles is a long way so there's a huge difference in what you would get.

Wow this one is a bit sad - imagine being one of ther 42 sitting tenants at the moment.... I can't imagine it'll sell as a portfolio tbh in the current market.

As I'm in central London it ranges from a studio flat in a swanky new block, to a dinky 3 bed period house somewhere off the tube network to a 5 bed detached brick box in suburbia. None of them a swap 'd want to make.

A few 4 bed modern houses or a 60 acre plot with a farmhouse shell on it. The summer house is completed so there's somewhere to live while you do the rest.

The most expensive place within 10 miles is over £925k so will go for circa £1m

@NCForQuestions that's a whole street of houses? Amazing.
There are some lovely country homes all round the country for 1mil and just under it seems.
