A TV. In any room. I genuinely would not have one if I didn’t have a husband. The children and I prefer music.

I'm sure the children prefer YouTube and Tiktok!!!

I have loads of the things mentionned on here, including a strip of fake grass (gasp!) beside my pool. I am in Oz though so its more eco friendly (and less muddy) than real grass which I would need to water all the bloody time to keep it green. I am also very fond of my massive tele (it is a Frame though so it looks like art when its on standby) and my corner sofa is super comfy! And my outdoor kitchen is fab and used all the time! I do draw the line at word art on the walls though.

Yep. Beside a pool is different 😊

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 08/10/2023 07:53

Pretty much everything on the thread so far, except husband, children, dog and cat (I have all of those!). Especially hot tub, pool, home cinema. I'd quite like a home gym actually.

IncomingTraffic · 08/10/2023 07:53

@alwayscrashinginthesamecar1 these things are always just personal taste and lifestyle choices.

I also love my corner sofa and big tv. But I really wouldn’t want a conservatory. 🤷🏻‍♀️

piintheski · 08/10/2023 07:54

a man

ttcat37 · 08/10/2023 07:57

A wall mounted television, grey decor and a bar 🤢

NewHouseNewMe · 08/10/2023 08:01

I would never have speakers in the ceilings or walls. I know too many people whose speakers have gone unsupported/end of life and can’t change them without leaving gaping holes.

i have an open plan kitchen (but also separate lounge), dog, children, husband, ensuite and a Japanese toilet so who am I to judge?! 😜

vertical blinds
UPVC windows
net curtains
a ton of grey
naff wall art
red & black kitchen
chairs with handles on the back 🤮
Anything remotely in the style of Real housewives of New Jersey.

Lampzade · 08/10/2023 08:12

A bath in the bedroom- really don’t like them.

A kitchen island- most people just use them for extra storage. Most are just bulky looking and I like clean lines

Hot tubs and jacuzzis- grim

An en-suite is fine if you have a massive bedroom and the en-suite is not too near the bed. However, most en-suites are shoehorned into a small space .

I wouldn’t want a really large mansion.

Outdoor swimming pool. The weather is usually shit so why bother ?

However, I love tvs and would definitely have loads of them. I think it because as a child growing up in the seventies/ eighties we only had one tv and would squabble over what tv programme to watch.

smilesup · 08/10/2023 08:15

Fake grass. It looks so awful and is so bad for the environment. I judge very little in life but can't help myself judging anyone who buys that shite.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 08/10/2023 08:17

A TV in the bedroom.

Smartiepants79 · 08/10/2023 08:17

Hot tub
Roll top bath in the bedroom
leather furniture

I never understand the hatred of ensuites on here but especially on this thread. People always say ‘oh why would I want to sleep 3 feet away from where someone goes to the loo’ Well, firstly, mine is much further away and secondly, the op said unlimited money meaning huge space and convenience and likely someone else to clean it.

Me too
I must be at least 30 from mine.
I'm maybe the same distance away from the toilet in the family bathroom.
I think I was closer at one house ti the toilet that was in its own room.
So convenient if you have guests.
No trooping across the landing in a towel.

GrandHighPoohbah · 08/10/2023 08:26

Any form of WiFi controlled kitchen appliance or remote control curtains

unsync · 08/10/2023 08:27

Other people. Just me and some animals. I wouldn't want a party wall either (or a 'media wall').

I like to judge people who complain about fake grass but then proceed to use planes for holidays or drive anywhere that is less than a 3 mile walk

spitefulandbadgrammar · 08/10/2023 08:28

Hot tub, Astro turf, big TV – especially if wall-mounted above the fireplace, herringbone engineered wood flooring, navy blue kitchen, en suite, wine fridge, Alexa, speakers, recessed spotlight builder pox things, L-shaped sofa, Nest smoke alarms, Ring doorbell, dogs, black granite worktops, plantation shutters, composite front door, padded dining chairs, grey crushed velvet sofa, glass coffee table, padded headboards, leather sofas, wall to wall carpet, eyelet curtains.

boobot1 · 08/10/2023 08:40

I have so many of these things😂
Definately wouldnt have astro turf though

Hellendegenerate · 08/10/2023 08:44

Many items on the above posts but I had to look up what is a Japanese toilet. No thanks!

The dining chairs with handles on the backs oh yes or rather no, never! I see them in furniture showrooms and think what the feck?

heartsinvisiblefury · 08/10/2023 09:01

Hot tub
Wall mounted tv
Alexa
Smart phone operated stuff
Integrated appliances
Carpets

Although I would have dogs and cats!!!

Ireolu · 08/10/2023 09:11

Swimming pool

arintingly · 08/10/2023 09:17

I love an en suite! But ours have been part of the original design of the house, a good size and ventilation etc

I also don't get the hate for wall mounted TVs - just so much tidier/takes up less space!

Blough · 08/10/2023 09:19

A child.
