Private Rental costs around the country

We have lived in private rentals for 25 as we have never managed to purchase.

The cost of rentals in our town absolutely beggars belief! I live in a town that is badly in need of redevelopment.

Using rightmove…. Tell me the nearest town to where you life and the cost to rent a mid quality 3 bedroom family house. (No fancy houses)

I am genuinely intrigued as to what the variance will be.

Also tell me if your town or city is a tourist area or dormitory town for a large city.

I live in Godmanchester (next to Huntingdon) Its a town but feels more like a village - quite a 'desirable' area. A lot of people commute to London, as I did once upon a time.
The nearest 'big' towns are Cambridge and Peterborough.
There's only one 3 bed for rent at the mo and its a semi detached for £1100.

Dont really wanna say where I am as its a small town. But in the North. 2 bed £395

East London not many whole houses around here but 2200-5000 a month for a 3 bed, it's quite a variance as some streets will be dodgy as fuck or not well served by the tube etc.

£1,350 one bed garden flat in Brighton.

Inner city Nottm, £900 (terraced)

Suburbs. £1350 semi.

There is only one three bed available on my town (which has surprised me),
it’s nice but the kitchen is tiny and I think looks more suited to a couple that WFH than a family. It’s £900pcm.
The two beds are all around £800

Central Scotland, a lot of commuting into Edinburgh but I wouldn't say it is a dormitory town.

The only 3 bedroom was a flat for £850pcm, possibly commanding a higher price since it is 0.1miles from the mainline train station. I'm completely shocked at how high it is, prices have more than doubled in a few years.

I was looking at 2 beds last week and there was a beautiful little seafront cottage for £600.

East of England London commuter belt average about £1800 for a 3 bed house. Cheapest £1700 priciest £2100

Belfast - very street sensitive to pricing but from £950- £1200 for a standard 3 bed in a not rough area.
Cheaper areas start from £600 but you'd do anything not to live there!
