Can't work out what these things are

They are terrifying robot legs

Donotgogentle · 15/05/2023 14:13

Must be moveable awnings but they dwarf the house.

Iris1976 · 15/05/2023 14:11

If you look where I've circled YouCan see the edge of awnings,to shade the whole garden.

Ok, but then it makes it even more perplexing as to what these things are for. They are HUGE in comparison to the scale of the house and they even have giant wheels on them. I'm utterly fascinated, honestly. I can't believe there's no mention of them at all in the home's description.

Jesus I can't get over the price!!

🤣🤣in which direction?

im presuming you think it's expensive?
it would be £200+ More than that here.

it's amazing how much the prices vary around the country.

Aquamarine1029 · 15/05/2023 14:14

I bet the neighbours fucking hate those things. It would be akin to looking at scaffolding all the time.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 15/05/2023 14:15

Oddly they've also had their house blurred out in Google Earth

the80sweregreat · 15/05/2023 14:16

At first I thought it might be floodlights or something, but they would be even bigger or those constructions that they sit up on at the tennis ( the referee ) ! Then I saw the other photos
Might be an awning of some kind though ?
I liked the interior although the orange would have to go eventually; the kitchen looks high spec just a bright colour

SoupDragon · 15/05/2023 14:16

I agree with awnings. They match the width of the windows behind.

I did laugh when the first photo came up though 😂

Heckythump1 · 15/05/2023 14:16

Think they might be something like this? But they're ridiculous for that size of garden!

It's got to be for an awning that pulls out from the house (probably) to give an outdoor living area. But why the wheels? So you can put them away? I bet the neighbours love looking at those.

rbe78 · 15/05/2023 14:18

@Heckythump1 Came to post that exact picture!
https://www.nationwideltd.co.uk/freestanding-awnings/

Pretty sure that's what they are, but very odd in such a small garden.

holaholiday · 15/05/2023 14:19

I thought they might be related to some sort of sports training equipment…perhaps they are a professional athlete???

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 15/05/2023 14:19

Maybe they are vampires

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 15/05/2023 14:20

Maybe the people who live there own the company that sells them

Saucery · 15/05/2023 14:20

Maybe it gets full sun from early afternoon like our house. It’s unbearably hot and constantly moving and tilting a parasol is a pita.
If the awnings are waterproof it extends the usable space in rainy weather too.

LibertyLily · 15/05/2023 14:22

Gosh, how unsightly! And that kitchen! The whole house does not have what I'd call "style and flair in bucket loads" (EA description).....

Mumsnut · 15/05/2023 14:22

The garden is south-facing

ttacticall · 15/05/2023 14:24

I really like that duvet set. Does anyone recognise it?

I thought it looked like Bluebellgrey but didn't see it on their website.

Figgygal · 15/05/2023 14:26

My husband works 5 minutes away from there ill send him to do some reconnaissance

pontipinemum · 15/05/2023 14:27

Some sort of laser to deter local cats for pooping on their lawn I would think. 😂

That kitchen is well, different! I couldn't look at it

oldwhyno · 15/05/2023 14:27

mobile awnings. maybe a game changer for making full use of the garden in full summer sun but damn, they're a bit ugly

Aquamarine1029 · 15/05/2023 14:29

Heckythump1 · 15/05/2023 14:16

I'm so glad you found that picture! Still, the ones for this house are sooo big. I'm wondering if the owners have some sort of medical condition where they can't be in the sunlight.

Saucery · 15/05/2023 14:29

Weren’t Nationwide the company that had an ex DI from the police and his dog, Drummer, advertising them?

YourMommaWasASnowblower · 15/05/2023 14:29

instantpotnoodle · 15/05/2023 13:55

I get creeped out by some structures (like radio masts) and they give me the same feeling 😰

I’m exactly the same!
I wouldn’t even be able to look at that house irl.

peoplearepeople · 15/05/2023 14:30

I agree it's for some kind of awnings that probably go right over the garden. Perhaps someone living there is massively sensitive to the sun though. We just don't know. I agree they are very ugly though!

I also actually love the kitchen. I'm not sure I would have it myself as would probably get sick of it too quickly, but I love seeing houses with some colour in them. 😁
