Ha! neck of my body!!
Back of my house... Phones! Autocorrect! When will they enable us to edit or own posts to make corrections!?

When you accidentally give away your identity as a sentient building... Damage control post

I like the kitchen. But there's a thread now lamenting having south facing gardens and how to keep the house cool so I'm vaguely interested in the monstrosities.

I get creeped out by some structures (like radio masts) and they give me the same feeling 😰

Me too, water towers are the worst.

Mooserp · 15/05/2023 16:23

Thanks for all the replies! Certainly seem to be those awnings, but how bizarre for such a small garden.

This house isn't within my budget or the area I'm looking at, but I'm very intrigued. And I want to know what's going on in that road for so much blurring and covering up 🤔

My parents had a moben kitchen like that in late 70s - was really trendy then - I quite like it!

@Crikeyalmighty

i went to visit a friend of my mum's some time ago, she still has the egg yolk yellow kitchen they had put in, in the early 70's. It is still immaculate, just bright 🤣🤣🤣

StillWantingADog · 15/05/2023 16:30

im shamelessly placemarking in the hope of finding out wtf they are.

hideous anyway. I do like the kitchen but not sure I could live with it

Aquamarine1029 · 15/05/2023 16:32

I like looking at the kitchen. Briefly. I definitely don't think I could live with it. I do love the coat rack, though.

Jesus I can't get over the price!!

Bungalows are often more expensive than the equivalent floorspace on two levels. It's because the buyers are often older people downsizing from their family homes, so they have more money to spend to get what they want.

CabernetSauvignon · 15/05/2023 16:55

Imagine going into that kitchen with a hangover first thing in the morning 😲

RedFloweringGum · 15/05/2023 17:00

Plastic grass. Horrendous.

Interesting! The neck of my body is fairly similar to this - 9m of glass and South facing - I would happily invest in some sun shades like that to a) keep the sun from overheating the host and b) provide a space I can use to surcharge my garden and read, write, work outdoors. I've bookmarked the suppliers and well probably be contacting them.

Your later explanation is oddly disappointing, I thought from your post you were One Of Us. 😉

@StillWantingADog
@Summerbobs

There is a picture of what they are upthread (posted at 14.16), and an actual link a couple of posts after that (14.18).

No need to ring any agents or to placemark.

MissingMoominMamma · 15/05/2023 17:13

I really like the kitchen!

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 15/05/2023 17:14

They seem to have gone to so much trouble to 'stage' the place, made the bed beautifully - and then just chucked a couple of pillows on the top end? Why not plump them and pile them properly? What are they trying to hide?

MaydinEssex · 15/05/2023 17:26

I can't work out what the triangular(ish) things on the drive are either.

Bungalows are often more expensive than the equivalent floorspace on two levels. It's because the buyers are often older people downsizing from their family homes, so they have more money to spend to get what they want.

They’re also in shorter supply, and have a larger land footprint.

Blingismything · 15/05/2023 17:30

@MaydinEssex these are shadows from the drive onto the (shallow) steps.

Shadowworry · 15/05/2023 17:49

Massive awning

tiny garden and photo shows it in the shade

a weird house and too much for Thornbury

Thanks! I couldn’t work out what they were.

MaggieFS · 15/05/2023 18:07

It's a drive? It doesn't appear to have a dropped curb so it's not in mn land!

Doggymummar · 15/05/2023 18:10

Wow what a stunningly beautiful property and so cheap. I love 💖💖💖💖💖 the kitchen wish I lived closer. Stunning

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 15/05/2023 18:24

@larkstar

not the point but….our house in France had a huge south facing balcony *with a tiled floor, it ran across the entire length of the house . All the heat was reflected into the patio windows which were also most of the length, even with shutters the house got very hot, and you couldn’t walk on the balcony the tiles retained the heat.

We had an awning, just canvas which went out over the balcony , it was electric so easy to put up and down. It was astonishing the difference it made, we could use the terrace.

*not a brag, just for info

worth consider for your neck…..
