I drive past this house occasionally visiting a friend and it’s a bit marmite (and I’d love them to get rid of the red stuff). But i just spotted it’s still on Rightmove a year on.

It’s huge!! House in B93

Thats as hideous as it is expensive

PalmTree1982 · 04/03/2023 10:43

It’s not expensive for the area. It’s actually a lot of house for the area. There is a beautiful one on nearby by… I’ll send link Gorgeous house same postcode

Yup.

WindUpBird · 04/03/2023 10:44

It’s hideous!! Really depressing…that colour scheme throughout! All the rooms are so big but they don’t have any furniture…I assumed it was an empty house as it looks so soulless but then saw the wardrobes full of clothes. Bizarre!

Saisong · 04/03/2023 10:44

So soulless. Those kids beds tucked away look so sad in that echoing vastness. Who needs that kind of space, actually makes me feel uncomfortable!

SoonToBeQueenCamilla · 04/03/2023 10:45

It’s overpriced .

yes the decor is distinctive but anyone who could buy it has enough money to hire an interior designer to do it up to their own taste .

YesitsBess · 04/03/2023 10:46

The second I started scrolling through those photos, the old Formula 1 theme tune played in my head. What in the name of Damon Hill is going on there in there?

And the vastness of the place compared with the two kids clearly sharing the tiny attic space.

So in conclusion: thanks, I hate it.

PalmTree1982 · 04/03/2023 10:46

The second one though I walk past with my friend it’s near the park. So gorgeous. If I had the money lol!

Maybe the kids get scared so they’re together.

sometimes properies areon the market a long time if it's the marital home in a divorce case, they have to sell in order to split the assets and one of the couple is dragging it out as much as possible, doing whatever they can to put people off.

but I expect the number of buyers happy to spend over £3m is lower than usual at the moment.

weekfour · 04/03/2023 10:51

I think this house has been discussed here before. The pictures look black and white until you get the red. I usually like colour but the red is strangely disconcerting.

Seeline · 04/03/2023 10:51

Is it really worth £3.3 million? I'm on the edge of London/Surrey and properties similar to that are no where near that price!
It looks very close to neighbours, very small and boring garden for it's size.

Theraffarian · 04/03/2023 10:51

From the grey soulless fence around the front and vast parking area that doesn’t look like it would ever be used as a garden , it reminds me of a nursery type frontage . Parts of the inside look like a shopping centre , the glass and stainless steel surrounding the stairs .
Also thought it was a new show home , but then the massive collection of clothes 😂 , if you are paying that much I’d definitely not be choosing that one.

tenbob · 04/03/2023 10:52

It’s awful! Not only really dated interiors but quite poor spec
If a house with that decor and kitchen was on the market near me, it would be described as ‘in need to updating’ or ‘reading for the incoming owner to renovate and add their own stamp’

Samsung appliances and Hansgrohe bathrooms in a £3m house..?

There is no way the developers got a professional interior designer to do that. A fiver says one of them got his wife to do it all, because he thinks she has a nice eye after making their house look like a 2nd Division footballers home, as that’s their idea of ‘classy’ after seeing it in OK magazine

Marinapeppina · 04/03/2023 10:52

That style of render is going to date so badly, it's the pebbledash of the future

pringlesinacan · 04/03/2023 10:52

Due to the area wonder if it's a football player

tenbob · 04/03/2023 10:53

“In need of updating” and “ready for the incoming owner…”
typing while walking isn’t my strong point

houseargh · 04/03/2023 10:57

Looks like the interiors were done by someone who designs airports

PalmTree1982 · 04/03/2023 10:59

Yes could be a footballer moving on. My friend said there are a few houses owned by Villa and their players live in them. They are very high spec though - I’ll try find one she mentioned to me, we’re taking like walnut wood etc but photos not available.

I love the area can’t afford it and yes it really is that expensive. B93 is a lovely postcode

TellSomeoneElse · 04/03/2023 11:00

That house is absolutely hideous, it’s unsurprising no one has wanted to pay £3.4mil for the privilege of living in such an ugly, soulless box.

DixitDomino · 04/03/2023 11:07

I wouldn't pay £300,000 for it. Hideous grey colour scheme - yuk. Yes the red "accents" aren't fixtures and fittings, but it really is NOT a dream home. who would buy that if they had the budget? It looks like a hideous 80s bachelor pad. Cold. Empty. Void of atmosphere. Soulless. Heartless. Comfortless. Characterless. Tasteless.
The huge walk in wardrobe space is great. The garden is a decent size. But EVERYTHING else? No.

PalmTree1982 · 04/03/2023 11:08

There are some lovely character filled homes a long that road. Not sure what was there beforehand. I imagine a lovely old house. Friend moved in Jan last year and I often look at houses for sale. Great schools and close to Solihull etc

The second house I posted I love!!

It looks like that scene from Schindler's List with the girl in the coat.

This is what went through my mind!

Daffodilsandbeer · 04/03/2023 11:17

Wow, folks love the word “hideous” on here and attacking properties

the second one is gorgeous, but the first isn’t to my taste but I’d not need to keep the red stuff and can redecorate so for me, no issues.

to be honest though, I thought it was a single man’s home. I’m really surprised there is a whole family living there inc a woman, from the clothes and shoes. It feels quite stark and cold to me.
