£1m upwards - depends on whether its a cottage which has maxed out it's potential or a large family home which could double it's footprint with building work. I.ve noticed that merely having the potential to grow/improve is higher prized than ten years ago when it was easy for buyers to pooh pooh already drafted plans by saying that they would be doing it all from scratch and would not pay a premium

KirstenBlest · 24/01/2022 11:46

The cheapest is £375

I'm always shocked by these threads, and wonder why people don't move more to get better value for money.

I'm in a coastal town close to Edinburgh. It's very pretty. A 3 bed semi here with sea views, would cost about £130k + You get loads for the money.

KirstenBlest · 24/01/2022 12:25

@BlondeDogLady, I suppose I could look for a job in Edinburgh... I'd be hundred of miles away from friends and family though

StruggleStreet · 24/01/2022 12:28

@BlondeDogLady I think more people are doing exactly that now that more well paid ‘city’ jobs can be done remotely.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 24/01/2022 12:30

£550K

NightmareSlashDelightful · 24/01/2022 12:34

I'm also in Edinburgh (I'm right in the city centre though). A three-bed semi within the city could be anywhere from o/o mid 200s to about 800k, depending on location, spec, proximity to schools and transport, etc.

Phyllis321 · 24/01/2022 12:46

about £280k to £400k.

Reasons for me not to move there: 6-7 hour commute each way as I still have to go to my office part of the week, 400 miles from my family, worse weather…

£425-450

The most recent two added to the market.

North West.

Comefromaway · 24/01/2022 12:58

@BlondeDogLady, Inspired and thinking that I could live on my assets I have been trawling rightmove and unfortunately the semi with a sea view near Edinburgh is more than my 3 bed semi in the Home Counties.

Am I looking in the wrong area?

KirstenBlest · 24/01/2022 13:27

Sorry forgot to clear quote.

I quite fancy a sea view. I have found a £130k semi in Rhyl.

ABCDEF1234 · 24/01/2022 13:33

Betweeb 200-300k

It isn't that difficult to think of reasons why people might not want to move 8, 10, 12 hours from friends, family, schools, and oh yes..... their jobs ......
TheNoonBell · 24/01/2022 14:54

150-250k depending on size/quality in the nearby Shropshire town.

Isseywith3witchycats · 24/01/2022 16:57

depends on location here 3 bed semi ex council in not bad area £90k 3 bed semi in better area no ex council houses £120-150k

onedayoranother · 24/01/2022 20:42

£1.5m and up. SW London.

TurquoiseDress · 24/01/2022 20:51

Around 600k and ever upwards

SE London

Squills · 24/01/2022 20:55

£600k upwards

Onemorefortheroad · 24/01/2022 20:57

£150k for somewhere decent. Less I'm less 'desirable' areas nearby 🤷🏻‍♀️

FinallySomeNormality · 24/01/2022 20:59

About £325-350k obvs much more of the finish is very good and new kitchen etc.

FinallySomeNormality · 24/01/2022 21:00

Should mention, that's 2 double rooms and one box room. Can't really get a 3bd home here that has 3 proper sized rooms

TheGratefulBread · 24/01/2022 21:07

In the village I live in, from approximately £475k.

In our postal town, from approximately £325k, although from £425k if you want to be in one of the more so-called 'desirable' areas.

kookievee · 24/01/2022 22:15

£220k for a not so good area, £250-£280k for a nice area (sixties semi to newish) and around £300k for a period property.
