Congratulations @Getyourarseofffthequattro you’ve had a long difficult ride haven’t you. I hope the next part goes smoothly for you 🤞🏻

Getyourarseofffthequattro · 18/11/2021 18:04

Thanks @Itscoldouthere feels a bit bitter sweet!

Just want to get in the new house, not in my parents. Just dropped the cats off at the cattery as well :( feel awful about it!

Summersdreaming · 18/11/2021 18:10

@Getyourarseofffthequattro

We've exchanged on our sale. Complete tomorrow.

Hoping purchase goes through soon

Hallelujah!! One huge hurdle down.
glastogal · 18/11/2021 19:38

Great news @Getyourarseofffthequattro - got everything crossed for a swift purchase now!!

We've sent off our signed contracts now so will be chatting with our solicitor tomorrow about possible exchange/completion dates (assuming, possibly foolishly, that the other side have sent the final enquiry responses now!)

blacklilypad · 18/11/2021 20:09

Is anyone else getting lots of jokes/comments about how late your completion date will be? Constantly getting: 'we've just started looking and we'll be completing before you,' and 'we've got bets on your completion date, I've guessed 30th November 2023'.

I am finding these comments really hurtful and frustrating. I had to take myself away from the lastest onslaught from my PIL so I didn't cry and/or say someone I may or may not regret. People can be such twats

BabyPotato · 18/11/2021 20:41

@blacklilypad ouch that's rubbish. How long has your purchase been going on for? Maybe your PILs don't quite realise how stressful this all is, especially if things are dragging on and everything feels uncertain. Could you just say that it's stressing you out and you don't want to talk about it? I would be the same as you as we have had our sale fall through, had great difficulty finding a house to buy and now we're stuck with solicitors and lenders who are trying to decide if our buyers' mortgage application can be accepted or not. It's taking a lifetime and even today someone commented on how long it's taking and I just wanted to cry. I hope you do make progress and all goes well for you. Smile

I've had enough of it all now. I have always had GAD but these days I'm just a big ball of anxiety and get really panicky every time I come off the phone to any agent/solicitor/etc thinking I've said the wrong thing and I keep replaying all these conversations in my head all the time. Sigh. Sad

Summersdreaming · 19/11/2021 08:27

Friday WineBrewCakeFlowers for everyone at their wits end today. Hope you all get some kind of good news today!

Getyourarseofffthequattro · 19/11/2021 19:24

Well we are out and at my parents. What a long day. Were officially homeless! Well not properly but you know what I mean. Feels so weird.

Just need to hurry our purchase along now.

Okigen · 19/11/2021 19:53

One wish closer to the mortgage deadline. I'm getting nervous (again)!

Bought myself a ticket to Paris for Christmas - either to celebrate my new home or to do comfort shopping Halloween Grin

Okigen · 19/11/2021 19:53

*One week OMG

instantpotnoodle · 21/11/2021 07:41

Can I join? Moving to other end of country to a market that’s totally insane. We’re paying over 10% over asking. And we have a long chain. And mortgage valuation tomorrow. Stressed!

Agadorsparticus · 21/11/2021 09:26

Hi all. What a pain in the arse moving is? I think it is why we stayed in our old house for 15yrs.
Our moving journey starts in June when we decided against renovation due to rising costs and looked at moving to a shiny new build and found a plot that would be ideal. Of course to secure said plot we'd need to sell ours. It went on the market on Friday evening and was sold on the Tuesday £10k over asking. They wanted to be in by September we said fine and were willing to move into Mums or rented to break the chain. We pulled out of the new build purchase due to estate management fees and found another property which was ideal for us. All good.
We completed on our sale during September and into Mums tiny bungalow for a temporary few weeks until a week later we found out our sellers had pulled out as their purchase fell through. Actually homeless, rich but homeless.

We found a nice big house nearby had reduced their price by £30k and we were now interested. Viewed it, loved it, offered on and got it. That was start of October. We've had the survey, all good. Needs a new boiler and updates to electrics which is fine. Looking forward to making it ours. Had our second viewing last week and made solid plans for where things will go. Mortgage Offer all in place. Searches all done and initial enquiries were done a week back so I really hope we are in for Xmas. We have 3 weeks off for then and would go a long way into unpacking. We need to push more as we are not in a chain and our sellers are buying an empty property.

The thought of having Xmas here is filling me with dread, I've had presents arrive and I have nowhere to put them. Our storage unit is full and has been for the last few months. Our kids have stopped asking for the things they need as it's all in storage. 😭

Good luck everyone.🤞

nOvOn · 21/11/2021 10:26

Hi all. We sold ours 5 weeks ago and had an offer accepted on our dream house 3 weeks ago. Short chain of 3 properties. We’ve paid for searches, booked survey and had confirmation of our mortgage acceptance subject to valuation. However we have had no sign of our buyers arranging a survey on our current property yet. Hoping to move by the end of Jan.

redpickle · 21/11/2021 12:12

n0v0n we're in exactly the same position. Chain of three and our buyer has done naff all. So frustrating as the lower-than-we-wanted offer they made was on the basis that they were in a position to be quick, that's why we agreed. We're all busy working and looking after kids but if you're committed to a chain, you just get on with it! We've already paid £1.5k in surveys and searches and I'd like to see some kind of show of commitment in return. Our agent is being a bit weak at chasing too. What's your buyers excuse?

Getyourarseofffthequattro · 21/11/2021 16:14

Well our lender after three weeks of doing fuck all has asked for all the documents again. So not an amendment then. Another full fucking application. They advertise taking 12 days from application to offer. It's been three weeks and they've done the square route of fuck all for an amendment on an offer we already had Angry I'm seriously pissed off.

PussyCatEatingPigsInBlankets · 21/11/2021 17:04

@Getyourarseofffthequattro you need to find a different lender, yours are really shit. Flowers Gin

We are porting our mortgage so have early repayment fees if we go with someone else. If it wasn't thousands of pounds I would have ditched them ages ago!

PussyCatEatingPigsInBlankets · 21/11/2021 17:30

Ah, that's a bugger. Go on a SM rant and email their CEx??
They're incompetent.

Yes I did think about that! Maybe it will help.
Getyourarseofffthequattro · 22/11/2021 11:36

Well the documents have been sent first thing this morning. How long do we all think they'll take to produce a mortgage offer. I think probably another two weeks making it five weeks in total. Useless shites. I'm going to put a complaint in when we have completed.

Paranoidandroidmarvin · 22/11/2021 13:19

My mortgage was with NatWest and we ported it. It took about two weeks I think but I’m self employed so they asked for more bits.
Got my email offer at 10.30 pm. Ran out of bed 😂

Getyourarseofffthequattro · 22/11/2021 13:26

@Paranoidandroidmarvin ah a lot quicker than us then! Ours should be really straight forward!

It's Santander ours is with. Would not recommend them to anyone.

Elephanttrunk · 22/11/2021 14:14

We are switching to Santander too @Getyourarseofffthequattro can’t believe how long it took. Weeks for them to read a message. Total time 7 weeks to get an offer!

Getyourarseofffthequattro · 22/11/2021 14:17

That's horrendous!

It's a joke because on their intermediary website it shows timescales. 13 days to get an offer it says there. 1 day for a response, 2 days for underwriters to look at it.

I've just screen shotted today's for when i inevitably have to chase it up and I can say why is it you haven't once hit the timescales you publish on your own website Angry

Everything has taken ages. Like you say weeks for a response. And then the response is another question, usually that they already have the sodding answer to.

I'm furious to be honest.

Elephanttrunk · 22/11/2021 14:22

@Getyourarseofffthequattro I was too, kept calling them to be told oh they are currently looking at messages sent 10 days ago - why is your website saying 2 days then!!! And that they couldn’t do anything to speed it up. Never thought the offer would come through! I’m really hoping the team dealing with funds drawdown are quicker.
