Can you see any reason why I am not getting any interest on my house?

Imo it looks cold and sterile. I always prefer listings where the houses look more styled. Yours looks like nobody lives there.

maddiemookins16mum · 27/10/2020 20:53

The garden 🙁. I can’t imagine a young family with wains wanting that garden.

SlopesOff · 27/10/2020 21:00

Agree, the garden, looks very neat and unfriendly. It looks like fake grass?

Nothing is allowed to live there, no leaf is allowed to blow into it. Too steep for many people.

The house is not the problem at all, it's not my taste but it is very nice.

Mumbum2011 · 27/10/2020 21:02

You have a lovely house. I think there's too many photos and order needs better thinking through. Outside one looks better in the close up one with the pots.
You've done a great job of decluttering/ cleaning but it looks a bit sterile/ clinical to me. Add some nice touches- flowers candles, throws, nice cushions etc.

Randomname5372 · 27/10/2020 21:04

@Lightsontbut I cant see what house you mean, when I click the link it just takes me to rightmove and not a particular house. The one on my street with bifolds is lovely, it's only as house prices have increased since then that mine is more, it was valued at offers over 230k angry so we have already reduced it 10k.

The red flag to me would be the leasehold. Wallpaper, cold decor, sloped garden, kitchen Vs utility are all things you would view and decide in person, but leasehold houses have had considerable negative publicity of late.

BibbityBobbityBellend · 27/10/2020 21:11

I don't say this to be rude but is it a really nice house in a not so nice area? The house is lovely and the grey windows make it look much more modern than it's frankly shit looking neighbours! I wonder if you have put prices yourself?

Why is it leasehold?

2018SoFarSoGreat · 27/10/2020 21:13

truthfully, these may be the worst pictures I've ever seen on a listing. What a poor job your EA did.

That utility picture, along with the ridiculous bedroom shots, is why you are not getting viewings.

The house is lovely. It deserves better pictures, and that is all.

Bargebill19 · 27/10/2020 21:13

I like the idea of it. But in reality the parking and the wall paper = a no for me.

kursaalflyer · 27/10/2020 21:16

Lol at wallpaper putting people off!

BertiesLanding · 27/10/2020 21:18
@goisey no not in a rush to sell really, love the house and area but thought we would take advantage of the stamp duty if possible, now market has really slowed that might not be possible.

Everyone says the house is gorgeous in real life, I dont think the photos do it justice, as soon as we get viewers I think people will like it.
Just be careful with the stamp duty holiday, OP - I read in The Times yesterday that there's such a backlog that people selling now may well have to pay in full because they'll miss the deadline.

WWYD2020 · 27/10/2020 21:24

I thought:

• three floors no.. just no, four absolutely not. Lugging a pram/shopping up and down those stairs is giving me shivers.

• sloping garden, 0.5 of which looks pretty unusable.

• good that it’s a terrace with a garage, can you actually fit a car in?

• tiny bedrooms, would have to have attic but that’s more bloody stairs.

HotPatootiebootie · 27/10/2020 21:26

I live in a town house very similar to that with the garage underneath , but our kitchen is ground floor too. Ors is on a council estate. 90% of the houses have turned the garage into the living room and so now they are 5 bed with kitchen and living room downstairs. You couldnt pay me to have to live in a house where I had to walk up the stairs to tge living room and kitchen, it would be such a pain for shopping and bulky furniture like sofas. But each to their own. You have a utlity which I dont so im jealous.

Good luck OP, your house looks lovely.

lampshadery · 27/10/2020 21:31

I like it, but possibly the windowless kitchen? Also it doesn't have upper cabinets which could put people off.

Some people are funny about three stories as well.

lampshadery · 27/10/2020 21:34

Oh - I just saw the actual kitchen! Ignore me. I would put the kitchen pics before the utility ones, as j would assume the utility was the kitchen!

carly2803 · 27/10/2020 21:36

its beautifully done. Just needs (cant believe i'm saying this), a bit more lived in.? canvas/rugs/wall stuff etc

the garden isnt for me to be honest, its rather unusable, but thats as a family point of view.

might be worth upping the price and targetting professional couples given the location?

Mistymonday · 27/10/2020 21:40

Astroturf is a solid no.

DontDribbleOnTheCarpet · 27/10/2020 21:42

It looks quite cramped to me and the front is just grim- so much paving and the house looks kind of squished in between the two either side.
The bedrooms look tiny and the garden is terrible. It would be impossible for a family with children or anyone with mobility issues. It also looks tiny and outdoor space is really important for a lot of people at the moment.

It all looks new and clean, which is good, and the bathroom is quite nice, but it just all looks really hard to live in.

MJMG2015 · 27/10/2020 21:42

Is that typical of the housing in your area?

There are lots if things I don't like about Townhouses and it's not anything you could change. Your photos lack any warmth or feeling like it's 'home', I know they say to de clutter & depersonalise, but I feel you might have taken that a bit far.

It's a lot of house for the money!

Do you actually live there?

Cheeky bonus question... is that an Endyrance front door, are you happy with it.

CaledoniaCatalan · 27/10/2020 21:44

I don't the know area at all so am commenting solely on the photos and my first thought was the kitchen was tiny until I realised it was quite a big utility room so I'd def put that photo after your actual kitchen because that might stop people from scrolling though further.

The way you've presented the whole house for the photos is lovely. Looks very clean and fresh, literally move in condition so I'm not sure you can do anything to actually better these

kursaalflyer · 27/10/2020 21:47

Why would you have to take a pram upstairs? Grin

SuzieCarmichael · 27/10/2020 21:49

Sorry haven’t read the thread but I got to the picture of the prison cell kitchen with no windows and I’m out, I’m afraid.

QueenPaws · 27/10/2020 21:51

@SuzieCarmichael that's the utility!
Agree with kitchen pics need to be first

Randomname5372 · 27/10/2020 21:53

@MJMG2015 love the door! Not sure what make to be honest ha.

Haha no idea why you would need to take pram upstairs and hallway was a perfect space to keep pram out of way to be honest.

Garage is big enough for a car yes.

@SuzieCarmichael that is utility room not the kitchen!
