@kerrymucklowe2020

- rant alert-- Well my solicitors sent queries over mid August. Vendors solicitor keeps sending back half arsed answers not fully answering them( Ive seen them) AND, despite the fact that it took me less than 30 mins to find out who owner of ransom strip is, she STILL HASN'T MANAGED TO DO THIS. ( And has told vendors MY SOLICITORS QUERIES at this late stage are causing delays!). PLUS despite vendor assuring me all ready to go on his forward purchase, apparently the mortgage company are not happy with the mining report so have sent this in house. - FUMING!!!!
This is pretty much exactly what's going on with our purchase. The vendors EA told me their solicitor was rude to her a couple of weeks back. Now our vendors are really starting to question our commitment to the sale due to their solicitor claiming we are sending multiple pointless questions etc. Very confrontational attitude and he's worrying his client needlessly. I've seen his answers to some of our solicitors questions and they're vague to the point of actually being dismissive. Very odd.
graduatedbob · 24/09/2020 19:32

@JustFrustrated Huge congrats!

I've asked for quotes from a couple of removal companies and one of them wants to know how many boxes we will have. I've done a couple of online calculators and it ranges from 30-60 boxes but I actually have no idea as nothing is packed! Any ideas on how I can get a more accurate figure? 4 people moving from small 3 bedroom house with 15 years of stuff?!

Lemonylemony · 24/09/2020 19:37

No conclusion tonight. Thank goodness I’m exhausted from all the stress or I wouldn’t sleep I don’t think.

Tomorrow is a busy day at work, but the estate agents office, and the new house are both just 5 mins from where I work, so I’m hoping at some point I’ll get a call to pop out and pick up keys. If not.....no house I guess!

This is an incredibly stupid system.

BigHuff · 24/09/2020 20:23

Week 11. Waiting for one final enquiry to come back. Solicitor still allergic to discussing dates, even in the vaguest of terms. Will not speculate as to whether we are days, weeks or months away from exchange. I guess he'll tell us on the day??

Jujuball · 24/09/2020 20:38

Oh @Lemonylemony you poor thing Sad how stressful for you.

Keeping everything crossed for you for tomorrow!

Zebrahooves · 24/09/2020 20:41

@Lemonylemony I wouldn't be able to sleep not knowing that. It is horrendous. I hope it works out, but i can't imagine having to pack everything just in case.

@kerrymucklowe2020 how is it that we can find out answers much faster than our solicitors? I hope that you get the mining report sorted. Have you seen it?

We've had nothing this week at all. Week 14 here we come.

kerrymucklowe2020 · 24/09/2020 20:47

@Lemonylemony oh god! 🍷 and someone mentioned periton helped them sleep?
Everything crossed for you tomorrow.
@Zebrahooves - tell me about it.bthis who shebang is ridiculously stressful! Thinking about giving my vendors an ultimatum seeing how it's their solicitor that hasn't responded to questions asked s month ago. AND thinking about it, the house is 9 years old- why wasnt the strip issue dealt with when they bought the house?!!

OP posts:
kerrymucklowe2020 · 24/09/2020 20:48

@Zebrahooves the mining report is on the vendors forward purchase, not mine

Lemonylemony · 24/09/2020 21:14

I’m going with Gin Grin and we took a long walk in the forest with doggo this afternoon so feel physically tired too. I’m trying to be all zen about it tonight, there’s literally nothing we can do to influence whether this happens or not.

I’m lucky we don’t need to pack yet, we can stay where we are as long as we need to, and we’re planning on rewiring before moving into new house, hopefully in a few weeks 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Notyetthere · 24/09/2020 22:50

@graduatedbob we are moving from a large-ish 3 bed house. We have packed about 50 boxes so far. We still have another 2 weeks before proposed completion so all our essentials like pots and pans, plates, tetc are yet to be packed. We have even packed all bed linen and towels leaving just the ones we are using. We shall wash them and put back on the same day if required. We still other boxes in the loft and then there is contents in the two sheds. I would say we have another 30 boxes to go.

kerrymucklowe2020 · 24/09/2020 23:15

How many if us are not sleeping properly with all the stress? Quite a few I bet!

OP posts:
ElvisandAngel · 24/09/2020 23:24

I can’t sleep, we were meant to exchange yesterday and it didn’t happen and then at lunchtime today the buyer at the bottom of our chain decided they didn’t want to buy or take on a mortgage after all. Months of stress and preparation, our completion date was next Wednesday and now its all over. We will have to start the process over, I feel so cross and betrayed, they could have pulled out way before this,

kerrymucklowe2020 · 24/09/2020 23:38

OMG@ElvisandAngel! Am So sorry! That's awful and really shitty of them to do this , especially so late in the day.
Hope you get another buyer asap and 🍷 for you. Hell have 2 🍷

Team No Sleep here! Moving tomorrow. Half the house in boxes, the other half on a lorry somewhere. Been awake since 01:00 and watching the clock.

Lemonylemony · 25/09/2020 06:55

Managed sleep but awake now and really really really anxious about today, feel very helpless about it all and no idea how I’m going to concentrate at work. We’ve had a glance at Rightmove. There are other houses out there but we’d probably have to up the budget a little bit, we have a really good deal on this one as it was ‘priced for quick sale’ (hollow laugh).

Wow @ElvisandAngel that is awful, how devastating. How far down the chain is that for you? Does it all fall apart completely now or does some of the chain stay together and look to replace lost links?

It is a shitty result, but I guess moral obligation to strangers cannot be the reason to proceed with such a major personal financial obligation, these are uncertain times and things may have changed significantly for these people in the last few months, jobs may be under threat etc.

notheragain4 · 25/09/2020 07:08

How many of us are hoping to complete today? Roll up! My fingers are crossed for us all.

Jujuball · 25/09/2020 07:21

@ElvisandAngel omg that is awful I'm so sorry! I hope you manage to get the chain back up and running.

Thinking of you today @Lemonylemony, let us know how you get on!

notheragain4 · 25/09/2020 07:31

@ElvisandAngel sorry I didn't see your post before posting I didn't mean to be insensitive, that's awful.
