Which property would you go for?

We are interested in these 2 properties:

A) www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-71533635.html

B) www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-77560441.html

Which would you go for? Property B is in a slightly better location but there isn’t a lot in it. It’s for 2 adults, l want a dressing room and himself wants a man cave (to include his DJ stuff, photography stuff etc). I have a preference and my partners is the other!

A. Property B is dire - all that grey. It would cost a fortune to redo it.

For what you want and for future possible growth, I'd say the chalet bungalow. Looks tiny on outside but it's enormous, plus has garage.

The first house doesn't have much separated loving space. Plus with the kitchen and lounge combined you always have the mess of the kitchen on show if just cooked and so on

*living space

The Ronald Park one without a doubt, the other one I wouldn't even go and view.

tinkywinkyshandbag · 06/07/2020 20:09

The first one.

Hoppinggreen · 06/07/2020 20:09

Both are a bit ugly outside but much nicer inside
Probably B

Seeingadistance · 06/07/2020 20:09

I prefer A.

Babs709 · 06/07/2020 20:10

A..... a million times!!!

WhatKatyDidNxt · 06/07/2020 20:10

@Annasgirl the pink kitchen offended me more to be honest. Who wants a pink kitchen?! I’m not 5

I'd go for b. There's more space, only over two floors, everything looks modern and new, and lots of opportunity to extend. But I'd look at them both and see which one just feels more like home.

doolallyboo · 06/07/2020 20:11

A

CabernetSoWhat · 06/07/2020 20:12

B is a house.

A is a home.

Babs709 · 06/07/2020 20:12

The pink kitchen was the only thing I liked about B 😂

doolallyboo · 06/07/2020 20:13

What's the sq footage?

MerryMarigold · 06/07/2020 20:14

Well I'm guessing dp wants the one with the garage but the first property is waaaaay nicer. Loads more character. I love the bay windows, better garden, nice space downstairs. Can he have a man cave in the spare bedroom or you build one of those summer house things in the garden?

VictoriaBun · 06/07/2020 20:14

I don't think it would be argued that No.1 has the best curb appeal by miles. I also prefer the interior of the first one as well.

NotNowPlzz · 06/07/2020 20:15

B

TimeWastingButFun · 06/07/2020 20:17

100% I would choose the terrace not the chalet. The chalet has no soul! But if it's in a far better area it would be a bit of a game changer - but then I think I'd keep looking.

Mummyshark2018 · 06/07/2020 20:17

A is lovely. They are both quite different and I wasn't expecting B to be like that.

russetred · 06/07/2020 20:19

Depends on future plans. Do you plan to have kids any time soon? If so, House B has more room. But it's pretty charmless both inside and out - I'm sure you could make it a lot nicer with some better decor though. House A is much much nicer - the tiny bedroom off the master could be your dressing room and your partner could do his thing in the loft room, still leaves a bedroom for guests/child. I personally like semi-open plan so the downstairs layout works for me, but not everyone does.

RedCatBlueCat · 06/07/2020 20:20

For what you want - b. The bedrooms downstairs can be your extra spaces, and the bedrooms can be upstairs.

I'd hate it having my bedroom sandwiched between the kitchen and living room, so personally, I'd buy A.

PS a couple of coats of paint and that pink will be gone.

Cottipus · 06/07/2020 20:21

A is prettier and has character (and a bit more space?)

B is more practical, only on two floors instead of three and fully modernised.

What direction do the houses back gardens face?

How long do you plan to stay?

A is lovelier but it looks like more work to maintain than B.

MushyPeasAreTheDevilsFood · 06/07/2020 20:21

A. I much prefer A

I can see why youd want B, for the garage.

Chewbecca · 06/07/2020 20:21

I prefer A, more traditional style & it has more warmth and character.

I know the area and would say A is slightly better located too, being closer to Chalkwell Park?

Primary school catchment for A is better too.

Bluntness100 · 06/07/2020 20:23

A by a million miles. B has a very difficult lay out.
