Anyone nervous for primary school admission results?

State primary admission results are.out this week. We have to wait for a letter, how retro, as we did a paper application for a deferred Reception start (DD is 5 in July, some minor additional needs). Really really hope we get a place at the friendly local school a 5 minute walk away! Anyone else waiting and want to chew their nails with me?

I'll be here until after midnight, once I know I'll go to sleep

If you live in any London borough or Surrey, the results are out at 5pm on Offers Day.

(I think it's done deliberately, so people have a few hours to wait and cool off before hitting the phones).

You can log on from around 5pm to see your offer, emails are sent out in batches during the evening.

One piece of advice - even if you get a nasty surprise and are allocated a school you hate, do not reject it immediately. If you do, you might find yourself with no place whatsoever in Sept (as having made an offer, your LEA is not obliged to come up with another one).

Look out for threads describing what can be done in circs similar to yours, or start your own

We only get 3 here too. 1 is my preferred as it has good SEN support and my daughter has sen. 2 is better results wise but make me nervous sen wise. The 3rd is a lovely infant school but junior school wise the good one we stand no chance of and the alternative is the worst in town and I would in all honesty move to avoid the junior school if we get third choice.

You all have my deepest sympathy. This sounds horrible. I live in Scotland. We don't don't do this up here. Schools have catchment areas. Kids from catchment areas must be enrolled into their catchment school. Simple.

SchrodingersBrexit · 15/04/2019 23:51

beargryllshasabigrope · 15/04/2019 23:51

Singing. Good lord my child needs a good primary school if that's what my spelling is like.

SingerNamedElephant · 15/04/2019 23:52

I feel so sick, I have anxiety anyway but I'm so scared, what if we don't get a school at all?

SingerNamedElephant · 15/04/2019 23:55

5 minutes

Bugsymalonemumof2 · 15/04/2019 23:55

I'm jealous of you guys getting them inn a fee minutes

stephimoon · 15/04/2019 23:56

I really hope my daughter gets in to get first choice. We got an amazing surprise when her brother got in three years ago, it's a very oversubscribed school with random allocation. Felt like I won the lottery! They have a sibling policy, so it should be okay, but I'm staying up until midnight. Sooooo anxious about it!

SchrodingersBrexit · 15/04/2019 23:56

@SingerNamedElephant Grin

SchrodingersBrexit · 15/04/2019 23:57

The grin was at the spelling joke not the anxiety.

stephimoon · 15/04/2019 23:58

And she's in! My local authority published it in the portal at 23:56. Grin I'm over the moon!

SingerNamedElephant · 15/04/2019 23:58

SchrodingersBrexit was confused for a second there but yes it was funny Grin

stephimoon · 15/04/2019 23:59

My phone's autocorrect changes things even when I fix them. By the way, I love your user name. Made me giggle.
