Anyone nervous for primary school admission results?

State primary admission results are.out this week. We have to wait for a letter, how retro, as we did a paper application for a deferred Reception start (DD is 5 in July, some minor additional needs). Really really hope we get a place at the friendly local school a 5 minute walk away! Anyone else waiting and want to chew their nails with me?

Me.

DD is almost 4 and has some SN like your DD. I think she'll do really well at our catchment school, but it's heavily oversubscribed and CofE our EHCP was rejected so had to go through normal admissions.

I really don't want my 2nd or 3rd choice at all (one non faith and the other catholic) as I just don't think they'll suit her.

justalittlestitious · 15/04/2019 14:17

Raisingbabylg We may be in close proximity as that's what mine says too. I think tomorrow is going to be a very long, anxious wait!

Raisingbabylg · 15/04/2019 14:44

My friend said they heard at 10am last year. I hope they don't drag it out!

SingerNamedElephant · 15/04/2019 14:51

Just checked my emails and it says "Sometime on 16th April"

Does anyone know roughly what time Staffs find out? Not going to stay up all night if it's not going to be until lunchtime

Itsokaynow · 15/04/2019 15:09

I am feeling nervous, even though we are in the catchment and have a sibling in the school so very unlikely not to get a place. But the school is oversubscribed.

lalaandpo · 15/04/2019 15:54

Hampshire e-mails seem to be sent just after midnight. The last few years they have anyway.
We're waiting on Junior school placement this time round.

Crikeyblimey · 15/04/2019 15:59

Lancashire will be anywhere from 7:30 ish to about 11ish (all being well. There’s 35k+ emails to go out!!). Then website will open from 10ish. If that helps.

Crikeyblimey · 15/04/2019 16:00

Obviously could be later depending on all kinds of things.

For anyone anywhere waiting for emails, check your spam folders too!

SingerNamedElephant · 15/04/2019 16:01

Sounds like I'm best off trying to get some sleep

Stravapalava · 15/04/2019 16:02

I'm quietly confident mine will get into our preferred school. It's not catchment, but we have a sibling there and DH is a governor and was told there were fewer applications than places at a meeting last week.

JanartaMeen · 15/04/2019 16:05

So, is it midnight tonight that the results potentially go up? I always find this so confusing!

We have also moved to a school dead spot and our nearest always seems to be over subscribed. I think we might have got in last year. I really just want to be able to walk to it after years of driving the school run for my older kids.

Bugsymalonemumof2 · 15/04/2019 16:07

Janarta each la do it differently.

JanartaMeen · 15/04/2019 16:08

Thank you, I've just checked and it says 'during the evening of the 16th'. Sad

JanartaMeen · 15/04/2019 16:20

I suppose the sad face is dramatic, but it seems so long to wait. Pull yourself together Janarta. Wink

BarefootHippieChick · 15/04/2019 16:27

Singer I don't know for definite about primary, but Staffordshire secondary schools came out at midnight.

SingerNamedElephant · 15/04/2019 16:30

BarefootHippieChick I'll wait up then thank you

BarefootHippieChick · 15/04/2019 16:33

Singer good luck! A whole new chapter for your little one!

FlowerTink · 15/04/2019 16:44

@lalaandpo Is that midnight tonight for Hampshire? Hampshire here. This is my first time waiting for a reception place and not sure how this whole thing works?

Do you have to physically click anything to "accept" the place?

Bugsymalonemumof2 · 15/04/2019 16:48

Flower yes you have to accept by 30th April.

I'm in Dorset and it's different timings here

lalaandpo · 15/04/2019 16:50

FlowerTink
Yep Midnight tonight but please don't quote me on that.
Last year for secondary allocations i know i was back asleep by 12.30 Smile
and Infant school was by 12.10, i remember randomly waking and checking.
If i remember correctly it will show the offer and if you're happy with it then there's nothing you need to do. Again, don't quote me on that, they could possibly change system.

GooodMythicalMorning · 15/04/2019 16:57

mine shouldnt be too bad. we live right near our school of choice so im not fretting too much. It will be odd if dd doesn't get in.

FlowerTink · 15/04/2019 16:59

Thank you. Fingers crossed it's not too long after midnight

troppibambini · 15/04/2019 17:20

Ours are at midnight tonight you have to log in.
I'm trying to be rational he's my fourth child at the school all his brothers and sisters are at/have been to it's a catholic school (which we are) and were in catchment with siblings in the school...... so why I'm so nervous!!!
Fingers crossed for everyone.

DumbleDork · 15/04/2019 17:58

Bugsymalonemumof2 I’m dorset also and was told emails go out at 9.30am so not too bad. And also told that we don’t need to do anything to accept a place. Apparently they assume if they don’t hear from you then they take it you are accepting.

I’m so bloody nervous for my DD though. Our first choice isn’t our catchment school but she’s been at the nursery in the grounds since she was 7 months old and lots of her friends will be going there. It’s only 0.8 miles away but our catchment school which is our 2nd choice is 1.2 miles away and we know no one there

Bugsymalonemumof2 · 15/04/2019 18:17

DumbleDork are you under Dorset or BPC? We are under BPC which may differ although a lot of people are under both so who knows.

Fingers crossed for you! Our catchment school isn't our nearest or even walkable so could be interesting
