We got our results today, still trying to decipher raw/scaled score. DD got EXS for everything, which is great, but it's very hard not knowing what she would have got on the old system!

Lynette DD was called into the office to be given her scores, not in an envelope. They were called in one by one, so obviously they were all comparing when they came out Hmm

No doubt one will be along at some point Welcome 😃

356 close enough, welcome?

Chrisorla · 06/07/2016 23:52

Dd got 113 maths 114 reading and 119 spag. I assume school will give more info once they have had a chance to compare results. The scores on their own are a bit meaningless.

PonderingProsecco · 07/07/2016 06:39

We will have to wait until reports I think for individual results.
Trying to keep my 'doesn't matter what the result is' attitude.
However, difficult sometimes....
Not asking teachers as know will be told to wait and will want to slap myself for being over eager.
Reports mid next week.

PonderingProsecco · 07/07/2016 06:40

Lots of lovely high mumsnet results here I see.......

KingscoteStaff · 07/07/2016 06:44

The highest in my class was 120 120 116 - this child is exceptionally bright (as in the brightest over the last three years that I've taught year 6), has an academic scholarship to a top London day school and is not fazed at all by exams.

The vast majority of mine have come out at 108 - 115.

But, as teachers always bang on, it's all about the progress. Child A in my class did not even get a level 1 back in Year 2 and has just received 101 in his Maths SATs. This is a much greater achievement (for him and his teachers) than child B, who got level 3s across the board in Year 2 and has just scored 108, 110, 112.

The government will release progress data in the Autumn. Perhaps.

PonderingProsecco · 07/07/2016 06:51

Progress data should be most prominent.
Also tough on schools with children who perhaps make slower progress due to additional needs as no flexibility in data to reflect that.

Does anyone know if we get the childrens papers back?
Would love to see my daughters as she has a strange set of results.
Much lower reading compared to high grammar and maths.

mrz · 07/07/2016 18:33

Schools don't even get the KS2 papers back

Alein · 07/07/2016 18:50

Thanks for reply.
Just really confused by this result.
Been hearing that some people thought reading paper tough.
Has anyone else child got this kind of odd pattern of result?
She got 107 on reading, 116 on grammar and 115 on maths.

FeckinCrutches · 07/07/2016 18:53

Great marks, no problem at all! Maybe just found the reading tougher

I personally wouldn't consider 9 marks "much lower", most children have a lower score for one subject. Totally normal. You won't get the papers back, as teachers we don't even get them.

BeautyQueen88 · 07/07/2016 19:29

These are my sons results..he has amazed us as he really struggled with the pressure. This is all we've received though and they have already had their yearly reports so we are none the wiser as to what any of it means we just know he achieved the standard.

Brilliant! Well done to him Grin

Mmmm.... all this score sharing...
Why?

ChoccyJules · 07/07/2016 19:49

We got DD's end of year report today and it doesn't give the Y2 SATs results, rather it says whether or not her SATs plus her other work in those subjects give her an EXP or whatever.

The odd thing is that at the time I was annoyed at the tests but now I feel we should be told her actual result. They said we would get this at the parents' meeting when Y2 started. If it's a state test, surely we can be told the results, no?

sorenofthejnaii · 07/07/2016 19:53

Strange how we spend all the time telling children that SATs aren't important but get very excited about the results.

Mixed signals. Hmm

TeenAndTween · 07/07/2016 19:55

Pondering have you noticed that no one has yet had a child with

PonderingProsecco · 07/07/2016 19:57

Indeed TeenAndTween....

redsky21 · 07/07/2016 20:06

Shared mine because I'm just proud....my ds struggled a lot with nerves and despite me telling him they don't matter I'm happy for him that he managed to get through them and do well. Still would have been proud of him if he hadn't but glad it's given him a little boost as he has zero confidence and calls himself stupid. And while I still think sats are ridiculous and frankly quite cruel, I think anyone who did well is justified in being pleased.

Alein · 07/07/2016 20:07

Reason I ask about reading is because my daughter loves reading, hates maths and grammar! I think I just thought that she would have a higher score on reading.

sorenofthejnaii · 07/07/2016 20:24

Well, 47% of children did NOT reach the expected standard for their age group in all 3 areas.

Just maybe the expected standard is ridiculously high this year - when I bet a lot more children would have reached the expected standard for their age if they had done SATs that were of the same standard as last year.

mrz · 07/07/2016 20:29

No Choccy Y2 tests aren't reported ( they are just one piece of evidence used to decide the teacher assessment ) but you can ask the teacher for the marks if you want to know.

mummc2 · 07/07/2016 20:37

I'm still waiting for my DDs results!!! She been away on a residential with school got back today and told their new forms for comprehensive but no SATs and they are in transition days tomorrow and Monday. I asked the head today and she just said 'next week' I'm not a big test fan but my DD wants to know!!!
