We got our results today, still trying to decipher raw/scaled score. DD got EXS for everything, which is great, but it's very hard not knowing what she would have got on the old system!

Prosecco I wasn't "bandying about" soy was wondering what the cut off was for gds I was merely saying you didn't need to get full marks to achieve it.

mrz · 22/07/2016 17:29

There isn't a cut off for GDS

Fresta · 23/07/2016 09:31

I don't really get what people are talking about. As I understand it children can only be officially classed as EXS no matter how high their mark, there is no cut off mark for GDS because it doesn't exist. I thought writing was the only one in which the teacher could give GDS?

mrz · 23/07/2016 09:35

That's correct

YouMakeABetterDoorThanAWindow · 23/07/2016 11:37

I'm sorry to be slow but what do GDS and EXS mean?

on my DC KS 1 school report the child could be below expected level, at expected level or above expected level for all curriculum subjects.

I found this useful explanation of the Key Stage 1 SAT (scaled scores ) A Guide to Your Child's (Somewhat Confusing) Key Stage 1 SAT Results
Hope it helps.

Thanks poppyfieldmum, I'll have a look.

mrz · 24/07/2016 19:22

EXS = expected standard
GDS= greater depth with the standard

whoknowswho · 25/07/2016 12:56

Just been to the end of year assembly and one student got 100% in both the maths and the spag KS2 SATs at my daughters school. That's pretty good - yes?

PonderingProsecco · 25/07/2016 13:27

Err- yes....

Mov1ngOn · 27/07/2016 18:37

Of course but I'm rather pleased our school hasn't announced anyone's results or even mentioned them never mind in assemblies. The kids still don't know they did then and I'd far rather that.

Getting 100 % on not one but two test is massive achievement. I think it's great that school praised the child for it.

The Tes are reporting that children were crying this afternoon after the maths exam :(

FabulouslyGlamorousFerret · 11/05/2017 17:27

I've not seen any tears over today's paper, it was tough but nothing horrific imo

ZOMBIE THREAD

Buttercupsandaisies · 11/05/2017 20:01

DD said the test today was quite easy and she's not in the top of the class - her friends thought the same

mrz · 11/05/2017 20:14

General consensus from teachers on TES is that today's test was tough confess I've not seen it.

Thegirlinthefireplace · 12/05/2017 07:55

My son is exceeding in maths and he said yesterday's paper was harder than last year/mock test they did but doable.

billozz · 18/07/2018 20:31

Hi I know this is an old thread but my grandson has been told he got every question right in the s.p.a.g tests is this unusual
