Wondering if schools will have received them yet?

Sorry Contrary, I missed that you said Reading. I know Reading is tough, but really?

Hillbilly71 · 07/07/2015 16:45

Sorry can't make it a hyperlink but if you get a mark it will show you the level.

EggOnTheFloor · 07/07/2015 16:45

We haven't got ours back as far as I'm aware but can you appeal the result? The school made a huge error for DD's exam and I need any score to be appealed if possible.

Emochild · 07/07/2015 16:46

Depends what county contrary is in Grin

Contraryish · 07/07/2015 16:48

Whattodo - I don't know, it's purely anecdotal, but apparently it is what the children in my son's class were told!

wheresthebeach · 07/07/2015 16:51

Wonder if they were told 'one in the county' and it got translated.

Contraryish · 07/07/2015 16:55

*Wheresthe" - yes, one in the county, not the country. That would be plain daft.

Emo - it's not the biggest of counties, but it's not tiny either!

I've been telling my DD not to invest too much emotionally in the Level 6 Reading test. I think she will probably get the math and be very happy with that. Fingers crossed. We hear this Friday.

PerspicaciaTick · 07/07/2015 17:03

DD is spitting feathers about the Reading test. Woe betide them if she ever meets the people who set the tests. Still, I'm happier if she is cross with them then if she turns her disappointment on herself.

rumbleinthejungle · 07/07/2015 17:12

Two children in our Local Authority got L6 in reading. I'm looking at the 'Comparative Report' provided with DSs results and it states 0% got level 6 reading nationally. Obviously it's been rounded down but it can't be many children.

Level 6 % nationally:

SPaG 4%
Reading 0%
Maths 9%

rollonthesummer · 07/07/2015 17:19

The level 6 maths papers were both out of 25 and if you got 32 or more you got a level 6.

So-you need a 32 across both papers to get a 6 in maths?

wheresthebeach · 07/07/2015 17:25

Doh...

ChippyMinton · 07/07/2015 17:52

According to hillbilly's link the L6 Maths threshold has risen by 2 marks to 34 this year.

Stillwishihadabs · 07/07/2015 17:55

I am proud of him, but I am even prouder that he got 5s in English (he was a 3b at

the end of year 4 :)))

Kitsmummy · 07/07/2015 18:23

Oh my god, DS got level 6 in SP&G, writing and maths, got a high 5 in Reading. I'm a blubbering wreck!!!

vindscreenviper · 07/07/2015 18:36

mrz The link to the TES article, about problems with the marking, no longer works. For some reason the page has moved to here

ProggyMat · 07/07/2015 19:19

Seeking clarification from Mrz- a fellow dweller in God's allotment.
If a DC achieves a L5 in a L3-5 paper and a pass in the L6 paper, does the sub-level of the L3-5 determine whether a L6 is given to the DC?

Feenie · 07/07/2015 19:23

No, they would be awarded the 6 whatever the quality of the 5!

Feenie · 07/07/2015 19:26

We got 5 children each with level 6s in Maths and SPAG, 3 children moderated as level 6 writers by the LEA yet no level 6 readers. But there's nothing wrong with the reading test, you know, oh no. Hmm

ProggyMat · 07/07/2015 19:28

Cheers, Feenie!

bigbuttons · 07/07/2015 19:44

So glad that this conversation can't happen next year.

mrz · 07/07/2015 19:56

Same conversation just different units of measure next year

ProggyMat · 07/07/2015 19:59

I 'kind of' agree, bigbuttons, in one sense.
Then, from another perspective, the Proggymat household are contemplating whether we should display a few 'Pit banners' outside our house, as we have 3 L6 passes- without a 'whiff' of the label 'talented and gifted'.

bigbuttons · 07/07/2015 20:10

I know, it makes me sad for the children though.
