Teacher grabbed my DDs arm and pulled her over

My DD was queuing up for lunch today, she was upset and crying because her friend was being unkind. There has been a few friendship issues recently Hmm

The teacher asked DD what was wrong, and asked her to go to the quiet room with her to talk about it. DD said she didn't want to talk about it - this is because she doesn't trust the teachers any more, she says if she goes to them for help she just ends up in trouble. She tried to walk away, so the teacher said "don't walk away from me young lady", grabbed her arm and pulled her, accidentally knocking her to the floor.

Is this acceptable, especially given she wasn't been naughty, she was just upset? For background she is 7 and has suspected ASD.

If they insist on letter send it recorded delivery and keep a copy for yourself.

Thanks for your advice youarekiddingme by the way. It gave me the impetus to ring the school about getting something in writing, which I agree is the way forward, and hopefully gives them the impression that I'm on top of this Grin

notinminutenow and luna I've considered moving her school many times before but there's a few problems:

  • none of the other local schools have spaces although she is on a waiting list for the nearest one
  • she handles change really badly and it took her at least a year to settle into reception, and that year was awful, I don't want to put her through that again
  • I worry if she had to start again she'd be even more social isolated. Even though she has problems with friendships because of her difficulties, at least there are a couple of kind, easy going girls in her class who look after her and will play with her. I worry this won't be the case in another school.

Anyway school has finally broken up for easter Grin Easter Smile woohoooo!

I'm going to have a think over the hols.
